New Xbox One X Commercial Dropping October 22

Link to the Feel The Power teaser.

This is truly an exciting time. Not only for Xbox, but for gamers everywhere. With the launch of Xbox One X just a few weeks away on November 7, the world’s most powerful console is positioned to welcome the True 4K gaming era in style and we’re celebrating in a big way with the start of our “Feel True Power” campaign.

Please join Xbox on Sunday, October 22 at 4 p.m. PT on our official Xbox YouTube channel for an exclusive preview of our anthem “Feel True Power” TV commercial before it airs on “The Walking Dead” season premiere at 9 p.m. PT and also during the Atlanta Falcons vs. New England Patriots NFL game; kick-off is 5:30 p.m. PT. You can get a sneak peek at the top of this post.

The campaign is designed to appeal to all gamers, taking the audience on an emotional roller coaster to elicit emotions like awe, excitement, fear, and passion; a call for gamers to feel the emotions gaming in a way they may never have felt before. “Feel True Power” represents that the experience isn’t just about what you see, but also what you feel.

Xbox One X is not only the most powerful console we’ve ever created, it’s also the smallest. It includes a 4K UHD Blu-ray player, built-in power supply, and three USB 3.0 ports and can be placed both horizontally or vertically with an optional stand. And as part of the Xbox family of devices, all your Xbox One games will play better on Xbox One X.

Thank god for marketing.

What if I've Felt True Power with my PC?

I mean, I have a PC too, but this troll is getting old.

This ad kind of gives me the sort of vibes that ads in the 90s gave off. I'm thinking that there were similar Dreamcast, PlayStation (1) and Saturn ads for some reason. Heck, it may even go back further than that. I like it, though. Short and to the point. In either case, I'm curious: What's with the sudden hey-let's-end-the-trailer-with-these-soft-tones thing? Another recent example: https://youtu.be/dtwpjnuaVTE?t=2m22s

Whats that got to do with consoles? This has always been the case, every generation, yet we still get hyped for console power. I mean, do you sit there saying that as they released PS4 specs? God lord at the insecurity.

A commercial showing the new product with a games montage seems like a thing you would do for a new product launch.

"Here, let us explain to you how marketing works and is meant to manipulate you into feeling a certain way."

What a strange thing to put in this blog post.

What sucks for me. When the X launches, I'm planning to "work" from home. However, the 7th is the only day I have to get any play.

The next morning, I'm going on a trip with the family for seven days. Just when I have it in my hands, I have to wait another seven days.

: LOL Oh well. Going to Disney World, so I'm going to have some fun.

What's next, teaser trailers?

At least teaser trailers have some kind of substance. They reveal something about the product being publicized, and leave us wanting to know more (when executed properly).

Pretty sure we know what the Xbox One X is at this point. This is an ad for an ad.

I hope they change up the messaging of the console a little because I don think they have done a good job so far.

So more Anthem gameplay soon? Or have MS actually made a Xbox One X anthem?
The lowercase "a" makes me think that latter, which might just be amazing.

Feel True Power... sounds like more of a slogan for Emperor Palpatine than a video game console. I hope the actual commercial is better than that teaser.

I'm imagining the person writing this thinking: "This is nonsense, should I really go that far? No. LETS GO FURTHER!"

Reminds me of EA's line about Madden not just transforming video games but the sport itself.

It's so bad.
And yet so good.

Hehe it always makes me wonder if these kinds of marketing truly work on "casuals".
