HUT needs to be more like Diamond Dynasty in MLB The Show.....but that won't happen

I need the GEICO goal posts though, and the ability to recreate the local team's arena or no buy.

And after skipping the year before, this last year's game sucked.

Unfortunately, won't buy this year....sad day for this EA NHL fan.

Minor updates doesn't fix a broken hockey gameplay system.

They "updated" the engine in 15 but it largely still plays the same for the past 4 years or so.

I tried to forgive EA after the NHL 15 EASHL debacle. NHL 16 EASHL was pure crap.

Will have to give this year a pass.

My guess would be that since Fifa is getting Frostbite this year, Madden will use it next year for sure. NHL and NBA live might use it next year or it could be until the '19 cycle.

I imagine the Fifa team is the largest and will share what they've done with the other sports developers after release.

Fuck off, would be the first NHL title I won't pick up at launch since 09.

100 point sliders are pointless. It's all psychosomatic anyway. They have a set range of what happens after a certain point value is hit. There is no difference between 45 and 46, but there is probably a bump between 74 and 75.

I wish they would have a preset slider setting to get realistic stats for 20 minute periods. I'd love to see how the game would play to achieve that and if that would even be fun.

ECHL being in is cool because my local AHL team got bumped down a league to there this past season (after winning the Calder Cup). The rest of the "new" features? I don't know. There's so many fundamentally broken things in the game and we know that EA doesn't like doing major revamps year-to-year.

I can't play these games anymore. I feel like every time EA puts out a hockey game it's just their super weird and jacked up approximation of the sport.

So they're keeping the preset player builds for EASHL? Happy to hear, if true. Glad I won't have to grind a shit ton of games to improve my player.

A bit off topic but I've been meaning to find this out for years. When creating a goalie, the consistency meter has three settings 0, 1, 2. Does anyone know if 0 or 2 is most consistent? Once upon a time all the best goalies in the game had consistency 0 but now if you look, every goalie in the game is set to 1 which tells me nothing.

Anyone have any idea?

Im mostly disappointed with the content of the announcement as most of you seem to be. I only really play EASHL anymore since the base gameplay still has the same feel from 2009. I thought this year's game however was the best hockey game EA has ever made, but has a lot of areas that can be improved.

They need to stop trying to sell this to a mainstream audience and instead try to make the game play more like the actual sport to reinvigorate the niche crowd of gamers who care about the game/sport.

My opinion is you can try expanding the on-ice trainer as a way for casuals to learn if that want, and throw a 3v3 mode with simpler controls in like their standalone game from last gen in as a game mode to appeal to those who are intimidated by the complexity of the current game mechanics but you arent going to expand the audience for the game by anything they announced this year.
