I have 2 pre-orders. One from Ninostarter and second from 17.01.2013. I asked them to cancel my Ninostarter order ( my mail-forwarding company changed warehouse address and DR refused to change address by emal). Here is emails:

I went through so much crap dealing with digital river because my complex forced me to move apartments last month due to construction. This thing better show up. I had to call them 4 times.

Yep. As far as Amazon goes, I think we're good until sometime next year. I wrote a paper on Amazon for my Economics class last semester. lol. Don't know if that's for everything or not though. Amazon will.

Wow, really a bummer. I don't understand why they wouldn't have this ready, It's a big title and I'm paying 100-118 dollars (who knows!) so hopefully it does charge and ship tonight. As I said though, this is my first time with Digital River but it seems this doesn't come as a shock to many. Was going to play some DmC PC instead but realized It's releasing on a Friday instead of Tuesday like most games. Oh well!
Yeh I'm serious, and I just sent them a sad email back. I have backups though, thankfully.
Just thought it'd be good to post here in case others have ordered from there. I was going to sell it at cost to a friend who missed out, but they won't be getting it now.

My guide from Amazon is still showing "not yet shipped" and estimated delivery is tomorrow, usually by now it would at least be "shipping soon" and the money would have been deducted. Hmmm not looking good for this or my WE from DR.

haven't received anything from Bamco or DR. Kinda nervous since last year i had to cancel my original order and reorder it through them because i changed addresses from my original purchase.
Guess we will find out soon though.

Well it did say something like "won't ship until after 1/22/13" and someone else said they called and got a "It'll ship before Friday" or something. Here's hoping.

While it's actually probably a good thing to be grateful we get the things we like at all, the bigger reason that I couldn't really complain is the fact this is for actually bringing the book over in physical form and getting a very nice LE package versus what they did for Dark Souls, that was so limp I actually didn't mind too much canning my pre-order at the last minute just so I could buy day 1 at Fry's.
Just getting Ni No Kuni though, to be honest I think our chances were always fantastic: If Namco Bandai didn't then many other companies may've been willing to like SCEA. But I really did think we'd likely only get the game and be lucky if it even included a decent manual.
That's better than I expected really so I would be happy if it ships Thursday and I get Friday. I won't be able to play it much but would feel better going out of town if it was here.

Yeah I'm gonna be honest here. The extra little items are great and all but if I can't look up my fucking order for a game I ordered 6 months ago because the store I ordered it from is an absolute mess, I could give two shits about the fact that we get a pretty little book.
LOL isn't that book one of the major reasons you ordered the WE? That was pretty much the selling point the other items are just fillers.

Pretty much. I don't really care for gold-plated familiars (though they might look okay in-game. dunn) or the Drippy plush that much. The book is the whole reason to get the WE. Everything else is just awesome extras.

The book and the coin and the blah blah are great and all and yes that is part of the reason I purchased it in the first place...BUT WHAT MATTERS IS THE GAME.
Well, to be more accurate it's that getting the extras we did is a bigger reason to not complain.
But honestly I think it's well worth complaining anyway because this is service that can be fixed if they pay attention to people not liking it, it's not like we had a surprise blizzard burying the city they were shipping from or something, that's not something you could as easily fix. Plus we're paying a premium on shipping regardless of option, so it's not like they have the "but free!" defense.

I understand your frustration I want the game as well but got the WE so I could have the book I'd love to have it coming from Amazon who goes out of their way to accommodate customers but we are dealing with douchebags here with a terrible track record no one should be surprised. We didn't even get a notification about the delay for Marvel vs Capcom 3 till a week later or something like that. Then it took 4 weeks to get the "we're sorry" gift. I didn't want to deal with DR but it's a necessary evil in this case.
edit: No email, no charges yet.

i'm sure they'll ship it before they email you. since i know it's UPS. i have the alert set to my phone and email to tell me when a package is coming to me. they usually update before the site does at least that's what happens with amazon.

How do you know it's UPS? If it is, I would be relieved.
I think Digital River explicitely states UPS. Or at least that's how it was on Capcom's store, but the rates WERE different.

i think it's much cheaper for batch orders really. and i thought it said UPS when checking out. I may be mistaken.
Are they open today or did do they take federal holidays off? Call them if not.

Despite this a lot of people here have so don't start spreading this rumor again. Roll a few pages back a phone number and a few different service reps names have been dropped. Come on people use the search function.

I'm half expecting my copy to show up next month. I've been getting the invoice problem for the past two weeks now with the warning that it won't ship till some time after the 22nd.

It's possible but extraordinarily difficult. I spent hours on the phone even getting that far.
The payment change was not my idea. My bank thought it would be cute to change my credit card with no warning.
Took a 15 minute long distance phone call for me. It's a pain in the ass, but it can be done.
