it begins.
despite all the "hype" after seeing Cloud in SSB4, this will be a repeat of last gen and there won't be any mainline FF in a Nintendo console no matter how good it sells.
they'll get a spinoff at best.
I wouldn't throw any console under the bus in relation to this game; it runs like garbage on a PS4 (based off Duscae and Platinum Demo).

I'm super hyped for FFXV and the NX but I'm buying FFXV on my PS4. There is no way I would double dip on FFXV on NX... UNLESS... there was Nintendo costumes.
Nintendo doesn't really push hard for any third party game to be on Nintendo systems. At least they didn't try the last two gens.
Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3?
Xenoblade bombed
Xenoblade X bombed
SMT X FE bombed
FFXV????
That PeachLuna outfit.Stella
E3 demo runs solid 30fps though dynamic res with 1080p most of the time according to DF.
Hopefully the final game lives up to that standard.
In general, people should not be expecting third party ports of huge games on NX just because of excitement. You'll only be disappointed if you get yourself hyped up too much.
If you see a "first on PS4" sign, your first inclination should be PC eventually and nothing more. XB is no longer viable, and NX, i'm sure many devs are waiting on to see how the market reacts
YO!!!!!!!! CIDNEY IN A ZERO SUIT COSTUME!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET'S FREAKING GO!!!!!!!!!!
She doesn't even have the body for it though, i don't know why your so into cardboard guy.
Which is why it took so long to get it localized for America right and when it finally did, it was exclusive to Gamestop? Ok.
Cidney has...a.... cardboard body?!?!? Are we talking about the same character???
Now those count as Jrpg lol?^_^
I'm sorry, i didn't mean to say she had a cardboard body.
I meant that she had the proportions of an actual wooden board
Nobody said that. Keep spinning narratives though. People said NX should be the process of getting third party back. You don't just get them all back overnight.Expect to hear a lot of these kinds of announcements in the coming months and a lot of disappointed people who were SURE the third-parties would flock back to Nintendo this time.
In a more casual and relaxed commentary, Tabata-san confirmed Gamereactor that his team is not considering this possible version NX, at least for now (thus belying the supposed leaked information), but at the same time the Japanese developer confessed that It has "high expectations" on the machine and is "looking forward" NX, adding immediately that feels the same about the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild . The latter was quite normal because the game was the center of almost every conversation and questions during E3, and indeed the Japanese manager came over to ask what we'd like the new Zelda, because we'd just try it.
Sure because it's FF. No reason to expect it to suddenly show up just because the machine can match the visuals. Wii didn't get FF XII either and that was a massive sales hit right out the gate.
They revealed the game with the words "play it first on PS4".
It's totally coming to the Xbox and PC.
Why not? Or do we go back to "only turn based games are considered JRPG"?
No, it's not about the combat system or any individual mechanic for that matter, it's about the "aesthetic of play" or, if you prefer, the feel. Forget about what the J and W in JRPG and WRPG stand for; that's just a quirk of our industries shoddy naming conventions; if you actually consider how the two feel to play, you'll realise they're actually completely different gameplay sub-genres that goes beyond their country of origin.
Souls games simply don't have the feel of a JRPG but instead they are much closer to a WRPG, so to call them JRPGs just doesn't feel right. A Japanese developed WRPG feels like a more accurate descriptor. By comparison Xenoblade Chronicles, which also borrows very heavily from WRPG and MMORPG mechanics, still manages to keep the feel of JRPG in spite of all that, so I would classify it as a JRPG without hesitation. It's hard to put into words exactly why, but sometimes just obvious when you actually play.
But how is such an arbitrary point, such as the country of origin, actualy a helpful distinction to anyone?Ah "the feel of JRPG". I would just call JRPG made by Japanese developers for the sake of simple, Souls and Xenoblade are JRPG.
They'd be smart to bring KH3 to NX tho
But how is such an arbitrary point, such as the country of origin, actualy a helpful distinction to anyone?
At the end of the day, the whole point of genres are so that we can quickly determine what games are similar or different to one another. Does classifying souls-likes as JRPGs really do anyone any favours? Like lets say your in the mood to play a JRPG, would Dark Souls actually scratch that itch?
Like I said, the naming convetions are shoddy and are mostly relics of an era when these sort of things were less well understood. It's probably best not to take the names too literally.
Stop with this BS. Episode Duscaea was running perfectly fine, especially the patched version (large portions of the demo ran @ near consistent 30fps and even when the framerate did drop it was usually no lower than 25-27fps, that != "runs like garbage") and especially considering it was 1,5 years before the release of the game. Platinum Demo was a rushed little demo prepared in a very short time by a small team and iirc Tabata said they had just made some big changes under the hood that they didn't have the time to optimize for the demo, so that left it a bit rough around the edges. The show floor E3 demo was reportedly running quite well, almost locked 30fps, on both Xbone & PS4.I wouldn't throw any console under the bus in relation to this game; it runs like garbage on a PS4 (based off Duscae and Platinum Demo).
Bookmarked.NX is getting a FF6 remake. Bookmark me.
But it's kind of a catch-22, isn't it? A system doesn't get strong third-party support initially so it doesn't sell and thus third-party developers don't bring their games overWhether or not it comes to NX is entirely dependent on how well the NX does. Plain and simple. If Square thinks they can make money with that game on the NX then it will come to the NX.
I don't see why not. The mainline Final Fantasy games are no longer exclusive to Sony. If the NX is capable of getting one, I don't see why it shouldn't. Not like the game wouldn't appeal to Nintendo fansBethesda to announce they have nothing for NX soon
But yeah, Nintendo stopped getting mainline FF after 6, they are not going to magically get them again.

It's coming to PC regardless of if it's a hit or not. They either want to get people to double dip or doesn't want to outshine the upgraded neo version. Every FF game has been coming to PC lately.Yeah, but am I crazy or did Square already announce that the new Dragon Quest was coming to NX? I swear to God that happened. Also, it's probably not as clear cut as I said because FF15 seems like it's held together with duct tape and dreams, so the game would probably need to be a hit on other platforms before they could even consider bringing it to PC and NX.

Heh, I remember them doing that but I think they back-peddled on it. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if the new Dragon Quest ends up hitting the system, so as long as the system doesn't sell like the Wii-U. I'll probably end up getting it on my PS4 but it hitting the NX would be niceYeah, but am I crazy or did Square already announce that the new Dragon Quest was coming to NX? Square confirmed DQ for NX right? If they said they're not doing FF, they're not doing FF.

Even if the NX version was portable?
Edit: I'm just hoping it runs ok on the base ps4 and it doesn't need Neo to run effectively
Cloud being in SSB4 is the same as Snake being in SSBB. Nothing more, nothing less.
