it literally was a coup too, the NRA was actually about to move to Colorado to focus on the sportsman aspect and get out of the lobbyist game, and the board / etc were overthrown in the convention that was going to be the vote that made the move official. Yup. And I mean the NRA has it on lock for this generation. But it won't forever. Sentiments are shifting. And unfortunately (or fortunately depending on perspective) when the time comes to sit down and actually craft policy they're going to relegate themselves out of the conversation because of antics they're engaged in now. Do I support confiscation? No. And I never will. The US will never be Australia where there will be a mass purge of legal weapons.

But I do believe in a smarter and better system of checks and balances to keep guns out of criminal and unstable hands. And it'll happen in time.
