See, this is why refusing to talk about NX in any capacity at E3 is such a blunder. Cause them not talking about it is going to speak way louder than any of the things they want to talk about.
I mean, if there are certain aspects that aren't ready to be talked about, fine, don't. But you can share the vision for what the NX is supposed to be, or what sort of features you're looking to support, or what kind of audience you're aiming this for. Something.
The fact that they are handicapping themselves like this for no reason (no way they literally can't show anything), also makes me immediately skeptical about NX. It feels like they learned absolutely nothing from WiiU. Still actively spiting industry standards, even though they should be proving the complete opposite in the position they are in right now.
I mean, the announcement is already proving that this decision achieves nothing, but even further increasing the bad image people have of the company. Their goodwill is completely gone. Good luck to them thinking people will just follow them anywhere instead of (even their last fans) jumping to other videogame proposals, based on strong fan communication, like Sony's.
There's only so long you can treat a fanbase like shit by ignoring basic fan feedback, while also staying completely silent. Showing up at the biggest gaming celebration of the year with nothing but ,,1 game in the next 9 months" isn't gonna do them favors. At all. Especially after all the other anger they've been accumulating since last E3 (and WiiU launch, really).
What does that even mean? Do people care less about gaming news if it doesn't come from a schmoozed up goody-bag toting journalist at e3? That's patently nonsense.
If that were true, no-one would have paid attention to PS4 or XBone reveals cos, ya know, they weren't at e3.
PS4 and X1 generally were at E3 though. And E3 simply is the easiest and proven method of demonstrating your products. It's when the entire industry's watching. Skipping it is just nonsensical. Why even take that striking disadvantage?
