I almost hate to say this, but the Mets are almost operating on a NATIONALS level of futility.

at least the Mets are usually good for 1 win every 5, they just need to score 2 runs when Santana is on the mound. Thats at least better then the Nationals.

JA Happ appears to be auditioning rather well for the Blue Jays

2nd Place!

Looking forward to the Giants series. Should be some great pitching on both sides.

There will be a lot of pitching to enjoy :D , but will there be any hitting? Giants have been playing really sad on the offense side. We need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Hate to break it to you but the Nats are good for better than 1 win over every 4, whereas the Mets have lost 3/4 over the last two weeks.

God this team is unwatchable. I'd rather watch Art Howe in there managing with shitty ass players like Kaz Matsui and Jay Payton in the field than this crap.

NYC Gaf, what's the best Udon spot in the city? Failing that, Indian Curry joint?
Indian curry? I don't know. :( I like Soba-ya. 229 E 9th St.

Japanese curry is easy though, and, as you may know GAF KNOWS ALL ABOUT JAPANESE EVERYTHING

(go go curry 273 W 38th St)

Most likely it will come down to a battle of the bullpens.

So at least I'll get to use this picture a couple more times.

i guess, i didnt check the last 2 weeks, all i know is that the phillies needed to get a nice gap over the Mets before all the injuries started coming back (if they ever do, it seems like a rotating DL door). The Phillies need to not pull another 2-14 stretch and maybe toss in something crazy like maybe beating the Braves, and they should be in very good shape

I eat Indian Curry once a week. I'm not joking.

Soba-ya? I've learned in my times in NYC that the more generic the name, the more likely you are to find a sweet little spot. I'll eat in that place Friday.

I'm making fun of the stiltedness of the delivery. Being Canadian, I am unable to actually hate on hockey.

These Hockey playoffs were better than usual, because the Jackets made it in. However, we got rocked hard.

On behalf of Reds nation, I want to thank Canada for the gifts of Votto and Rick Nash.

Yo kev, what do you recommend I get at that noodle joint? Pretty much everything looks good.
i actually prefer soba to udon, so maybe i'm not the best to ask if you want good udon. I had some awesome tempura combo with soba. was badass. the place is really cool...total hole in the wall. my friend took me there for his birthday like 8 years ago and i've loved it since.

Well if he was dealt to the Sox we'd plunder your prospects, maybe get ahsehlves a winnah like that Bahd fellah. Hell of a fiyahballah dat kid. He got some of dat haht yah need in a closah. Haht of fiyah ynowhatimeen.

That and we'd probably be able to add another promotion to the schedule. Jr Jays Clay Buchholz Laptop Giveaway? Kids 14 and under meet Clay and get some tips on their game?

sounds like Kuo is coming back soon, wonder how long he'll last until his elbow falls apart again :/

also some more trade rumors:

It also has the Dodgers in search mode for bullpen help with the July 31 Trade Deadline approaching. In a stroke of timing, one club they've targeted is coming to town. The Cincinnati Reds, who arrive Monday night, have a bullpen of veterans that appeal to the Dodgers.

Primarily, that means closer Francisco Cordero, right-handed workhorse David Weathers and lefty specialist Arthur Rhodes. The Orioles also have some relievers that fit the Dodgers profile, most notably George Sherrill.

Arthur Rhodes is still in baseball? Cordero would be a nice addition, not sure what the Reds would ask for. is Juan Pierre a Dusty fav?

I'm tanking for Kabanov!
I want some god damn position prospects we are trading Halladay, we only have Snider, Cooper and Arencibia and Snider is the only one with superstar potential.

I would at least want, 1 really good position prospect, 1 really good pitching prospect, and 1 younger pitching prospect.

If I were a jays fan, I would be unhappy if they traded him in-division. I already think JP is kind of dumb, but that would just be a gut punch.

Hmm, that's an interesting tidbit. But, Cordero might be a pricey acquisition.

Year of the Mets.

btw, have the Mets fired their trainers yet?

Can anyone explain to me why Ozzy didn't like Javy last year? Is he doing better now in Atlanta or was it just personal issues?
Ozzie hates everyone.

Better keep your juniors in line, Windu.
I think he is a Yankee fan, had a yankee avatar for a second there.

Well the Braves can actually beat the Mets.

Our bullpen is fine. The media is making a big deal over nothing.

I hate hockey but 40 years of Leafs shittiness does that to a person.

If Bard or Anderson was in a deal with Buccholz, it'd be tough to say no. JP won't trade him in the AL East though. Riccardi wouldn't get out of Toronto alive.

Phillies:
Brown/Taylor
Drabek
Knapp

Brewers:
Escobar
Gamel
etc

The question is if these teams pony up their top prospects or not... if not - Halladay stays.

I am convinced the Nationals are on the take. They mess up a ridiculous amount of plays that high school sophomore teams would have no problem with.

It wasn't just Ozzie. It was all the south-side of Chicago. Javy is a P-U-S-S-Y. Pussy. He even admitted it. He sucks and I despise him. They aren't that many more hated White Sox players over the past decade than him.

Windu

we had a KC fan when they were winning. Isn't there a twins fan around here too? And I'm not sure if there are any Detroit fans.

Drawing a bank on his name but I know who you're talking about. We talked a lotta White Sox last year, but I haven't seen him here this year.

Eminem.

I post here but only occasionally. Mostly when the time calls for it. For example:

Dear Ron Gardenhire,

In the bottom of the 12th inning, with Ian Fucking Kinsler at bat, and your options of warm relievers are Joe Nathan and RA Dickey, there's really only one choice. You made the wrong choice. Pulling in Cruddyer from right to pitch might've been a better choice. Jesus fuck.

Love,

Lambtron.

Hudson started his rehab today. Two innings, 27 pitches, 2Ks, 1BB, 0H, 0R. I can't wait till he gets back. It will be interesting to see what happens with the rotation. I'm not sure if we will trade anyone because he won't be ready till after the deadline. Good problem to have though.

Someone's getting shipped to the bullpen. Hopefully Hudson. Don't want to put him in high leverage, big pitch count situations too early.

Windu

Yeah I'm thinking it might be Hudson to the bullpen, then again with the way Bobby manages the Bullpen it might be more stressful for him.

Manny might be worth Arthur Rhodes or Stormy Weathers. Maybe.

Dusty would probably want crappy veterans or terrible grit players like Juan Pierre, but I don't think Walt Jocketty would go for that, thankfully.

I remember Hudson actually having a pretty decent year batting in '07. I'd honestly put him in as a PH over Norton right now. :x
