Wii U is backward-compatible, so a digital release shouldn't be out of the question.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for sales though. Anybody who cares about Bayonetta has already played it on another platform.

Before Kamiya brought up the possibility of Bayo on Wii U, I actually went out of my way to buy a used copy for 360 for $15. I haven't yet touched it because I've also been trying to get through Vanquish and Darksiders (also $15 each).

Point being, if I can trade in that copy back so I can put some of the cash towards a brand new Bayonetta on a (technically) more powerful system, I am A-Ok with that.

Whoever is out there with inside news, I surely hope you're smiling at the bombshell that is about to be dropped so you can revel in our tears of joy.

I've got the PS3 version that I played through earlier this year.
If this campaign falls through, I'm considering buying a 360 and Bayonetta and keeping it on standby as my dedicated Bayonetta box.

Nintendo does not use EA logic, no one here believes Bayonetta 2 on Wii U is going to be a super seller I support getting BAYO1 on the system to help move more copies of BAYO2

Nintendo is a corporation, just as EA is; they are not your friend, nor do they make decisions without determining financial impact and sales potential. I get the impression a lot of people recognize this won't sell on the WiiU, but still want it. I just don't see why Nintendo would make this decision.

Because, while Bayonetta 1 sold less copies than anticipated, it did garner a strong cult following in the 'hard core' crowd. It's an attempt to get the 'hard core' gamer on their side.

Actually it's kind of a little of both. Their own interests as a game company (which often fall in line with ours) will affect their decisions, so long as they're at least profitable. And they've done plenty of things at a loss, simply because they wanted to.

Bottom line, they'd rather do something they want to do at modest profit, than something they have no interest in, for a comparatively larger profit. They're obviously fans of PG and Bayonetta, so it's not as much a stretch as some think. In fact, it'd make a lot of sense to make Nintendo the 'home of Bayonetta' since they're invested into 2. They did a similar thing with the RE franchise on Gamecube.
