feel like the equivalent of that would never be possible with this system, its just too hot and cold and reliant on wins, not enough is taken from individual performance, imo
This is the most demoralizing thing. You can have an amazing game, or even a decent win streak, and a loss or two just eats away so much of your rank at once.

Bastion is viable in comp if you stay in recon mode. i'm going to make this a thing.
Isn't he just a crappier 76 at that point? I think too many Bastions ignore recon but if you aren't able to get a good sentry spot much then 76 would probably make more sense?

So going into quick play after playing comp is interesting. All the play of the games in quick play seemed lame as all hell.

Also, I saw some McCrees again.

Is there really a place for Reinhardt in competitive? I usually play him as a 1st choice but most the time I don't get any healing and/or little support and then it feels fairly pointless. Just wondering should I be switching more than I do.

pretty much every match I've played in ranked had a Rein - an insanely skilled Rein that was on offence & defence. It's kinda ridiculous. LOL

Just had my first placement win. On Hollywood, the opposition got all 3 points and we were struggling. No teamwork. Then our turn to attack - we got the first point super quick thanks to me flanking then with Reaper and confusing the fuck out of them before taking the point.

And then they all rage quit. Except ONE guy. Suddenly the payload was moving uncontested and I was like wtf is going on. Check the players and they're all gone. So fucking stupid.

I think making a "sequel" would be a mistake. "Updates" like a fighting game so you can do new marketing, maybe, if you give upgrade options to those who already own it. But I'm not sure that a sequel makes much sense for viability.

It wont be a mistake for their bottom line, they made loads of money on this game, they will get that blood lust and do a sequel after a while. They have a hit on their hands and make no mistake, it will be a franchise.

Edit-i could be wrong of course, but i know id buy the sequel

Uhhh what the fucking shit blizzard? You can't rejoin a disconnected competitive game?

If you're gonna put competitive in you should probably think about that shit

Meh. Dunno. I think for all that I hate the MOBA comparisons, those models show a pretty viable road forward.

I'd certainly buy it, just don't know that's what's best for the IP.

You thinking they can make a profit while sustaining development on free characters and maps, whilst only selling loot boxes?

These issues are apparent on XB1 post patch as well.

I've noticed weird graphical glitches but I had random black outs pre patch.

I've experienced all these. I guess they rushed this patch just to get Competitive out to everyone and hopefully will fix all these, plus Torb's turret in a few weeks.

At least it isn't just me and we know its also on XB1. Thanks for the replies

if the meta changes, we'll know who to thank.

thanks seagull.

lol idk tbh. i rarely play s76. the only thing he got over bastion is the quick speed but bastion do got the no cooldown self heal but i guess s76 can heal and attack at the same time but that heal goes too slow. bastion's gun might be a little strong. at least it feels like it.

i might give s76 a go but i hope people in QP think i'm a pro or something because i have a star lol.

Depends on how they proceed with monetization.

If they only sell loot boxes, then no, they might not. Although they are still getting $40 off each player up front.

I could easily see the monetization scheme switched to be a little more akin to a Dota 2 style though. Get the community involved in creating stuff to buy so that you have a constant stream of high quality content for loot boxes (and sale) and then sell character skins, environmental effects, announcer packs, HUD skins, loadings screens, the whole nine yards.

They'd make freaking bank off of that.

They should make competitive mode 6v6 only playing with randoms is the absolute worst. So fustarting when your have to 3v6 a team with 3 people on your team being potatoes.

thanks seagull.

Soldier-76 has great speed, Helix bomb, and AOE team healing. He is faster and has a safer high-DPS weapon. His utility is much higher than that of Bastion, who needs great teammates and can get countered hard (there is no escaping Genji or Pharah who blind-sided you as you are easier to hit).

I used Soldier-76, and I got great results with him instantly; he can cover mid-range and air pretty effectively. He can work with nearly every team comp and any map.

just tried him he's cool. but i'm going to stick with bastion because it looks fun running around with him on the map

Was in quickplay and we demolished a team on Hanamura in two minutes. Bastion tried to ambush us at the front game and lost badly cause we had a Reinhardt guard us as we were killing Bastion behind him.

Then in point B instead of trying to fight and contest he set up on the rafters to try and get us as we ran in but my ice wall blocked him off. Haha.

Surprising people with Bastion is the worst thing you can do. It works so well on shitty players who clutter together and don't consider watching all flanking routes.

that's why i'm doing QP.

also since there were no healers defending dorado i dropped s76 heals on people lol. just kept running around. we won. they didn't make it to the first point

Yeah quick play is so bad right now LOL. We got into an argument in quick play Anubis once where some guy called Reaper (he was level 80 something and everyone was at least 30 lower) starts bitching at team picks and coordination. I immediately picked Pharah because I wanted to practice her, so some idiot picks her after me and asks if I can switch, but I immediately refused and told him I picked first. No one bothers picking healer/tank, even that Reaper guy (because he is the pro general/spoiled princess who orders people around). We end up smashing them in the first point, and then having some difficulty in the second point until I flanked hard, got below with a pixel left to heal, and then surprise ult at point blank. I got like two gold medals and two other silver/bronze once, and I tell him "see" in chat (so smug, I almost punched my own face).

Quick play feels much calmer now for me at least; people are more rude and talkative once ranked was released. It is confusing; QP is practice mode now, but it doesn't mean having complete shit comp and no effort in playing seriously.

Was playing King of the Hill, and there was an enemy Symmetra spawn camping our base, planting turrets on the entrance and them ambushing us when we tried to destroy them. This type of behavior is pretty much frowned upon, right?

Also I was playing Escort on Competitive and was tied 0-0 when a teammate bailed out on us. Amazingly, our team took control of the payload and won 1-0! Unfortunately, I barely leveled up after that win.

I dunno. Some people would say spawn-camp killing is BMing, but I'd say git gud.

I feel like quitting needs to be harsher right from the get-go.

Leave a match intentionally and you're unable to play for an hour. It's crazy how many quitters I've seen.

You should be welcoming that kind of play with open arms.

I'm simply astounded that a developer with the pedigree of Blizzard shipped this sudden death setup, it's completely baffling, lol.

If one person can shut down the whole team by spawn camping then he's doing his job. Ignore what the haters say, it's not that easy to maintain a spawn camp when many heroes are designed to break camps

Pharah destroying our shit. You know what's a good Pharah counter? Genji. No, make that two Genjis!

I don't want to play with a team of 5 Meis or against a team of 6 Torbjorns. People are assholes. I should be able to leave if I want, within reason.
