Slightly dissapointing for XIllia 2. Original was number one during its debut week.

So apparently Metro Redux didn't set the charts on fire in Germany either as it debuted at #3 (I'm guessing PS4 version).

No idea what's at #1 and #2. Maybe Diablo, I guess.

Things don't look good for Tales of Xillia 2. It didn't chart in the Italian top 10, had a modest debut (below XBO version of Diablo 3 ROS) in France which should be its most favorable market and only lasted one week in the UK charts.

Hopefully Bandai Namco Games won't be too disappointed. Tales of Xillia 2 always had the handicap of being a direct sequel of a very mediocre entry in the series on a very aging console.

Mmmh, 3DS titles going that down is strange. It must have been a "special" week in Germany, with great deals all over the country. Look at how many and what titles reappeared. Super Mario Galaxy 2?!? Enemy Front?!? Gran Turismo 6 back in top 10?!?

Yeah, strange week indeed. Poor Xillia 2, though.

It's always been amusing how the narrative up until the past week or two has been that Tomodachi has unbelievable legs and that Titanfall is nothing special because of system bundles.

I just honestly don't give a fuck about PS3 games at this point. It would have to take an amazing game to bring me back.

Thats why I'm not getting Xillia 2.

Yeah. As much as Zestiria makes sense to be still on PS3 in Japan in west it will bea DOA without PS4 version. Still of course sales in japan are far more important to Namco and I am pretty sure we will see some kind of port on PS4 later on.

I see the same price in every major Spanish retailer, also on Amazon.fr and Amazon.it.
Seems like PS4 Destiny bundle will be 399€ at lauch (one spanish retailer says until September 16th.)

I'm kind of curious about XB1 sales in France....I wonder if we'll have to wait until the end of the year for that.

(also 3DS has crossed 3 million in France right? or is it going to soon)

Is Mediabiz including digital sales in their charts?
I know it's pretty hard to estimate those, but without digital sales the whole charts idea is quite unreliable.

But, thank you very much for keeping us posted every week! :)

WIU 296k
Total 662k

From the SELL report, 0.69M Gen8 consoles (including handhelds, so PS4 PSV WIU 3DS XB1) were sold by end of May 2014 and the install base for home consoles was 1M, so it's ~340k sales for consoles and ~350k for handhelds.

We also know that the WIU reached 340k around that time (from Nintendo France) so that's ~44k to remove to that figure. So there was 296k PS4+XB1 sold in 2014 in France. If the 2:1 ratio from 2013 sales remained constant that's around 100k sales for the XB1.

I'd imagine that's an upper limit figure considering the trend in other european countries, but the PS4 was heavily supply-constrained in France so who knows.

As for the 3DS its LTD in France was 2.9M at the end of May 2014 so it's likely over 3M now.

New UK charts up (Week 36).

EA’s ‘The Sims 4’ becomes the publisher’s 4th title of the year to debut at No1.

It’s also the first PC-only All Formats No1 since ‘Guild Wars 2’ topped the chart just over two years. With price promotions on the 360 and PS3 versions, a surge in sales sees Ubisoft’s ‘Watch Dogs’ (+19%) climb 7 places to No2, placing it ahead of last week’s chart topper ‘Metro Redux’ (-58%) which slips to No3. ‘The Last of Us: Remastered’ (-30%) drops a place to No4 while last week’s No2 ‘Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition’ (-51%) is down to No5.

Outside the Top 10 this week a resurgent ‘Wolfenstein: The New Order’ (+10%) is another title to climb 7 places up to No14 thanks to price promotions. There are two other new entries in the Top 40 this week. ‘Danganrompa 2: Goodbye Despair’ lands for Vita at No29, debuting 13 places higher than ‘Danganrompa: Trigger Happy Havoc’, while week 1 sales are also up 12% on the debut week of its predecessor. Finally ‘Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate’ arrives for Xbox One and PS4 at No34.
