Official topic open for business, see you at the safehouse fellas.

Note: Apologies if the opening post appears to change a lot, the BB code isn't playing nice.

--- Update 17/08/2013 ---

I have a few questions via personal messages on here about any Payday groups and ones people want to join.

I choose to run this official thread because I had interest in the game and wanted to have a little responsibility on NeoGAF. I'll be updating the thread as I go along, I've only just got a laptop today from weeks of not having one courtesy of moving so I have work to do.

However, I have my own group of players that I play with on PlayStation 3, with all due respect I'm not here to link people together, organise groups or hook you guys up, that's for you to discuss. The official thread is for any discussion relevant to the game that doesn't really need a whole topic to itself on the forum.

I'll keep updating the thread as I can.

Also, Payday 2 is already making a profit before release as I'm sure you all knew and I will be adding information about the DLC and any relevant news as I see it. Thanks.

--- Update 27/08/2013 ---

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates. My work has been bare crazy this past week, I'm doing 9 days in a row and it takes me two hours to get too and from work so I'm mainly keeping up with GAF via my mobile phone.

Anyways, as many of you know, Patch 1.01 has come out. I haven't found a proper list of updates yet but if I come across one, I'll upload it. Also Payday 2 was the top selling game in the UK on it's launch week and subsequently fell down to 18th this week. But what the hell, it's all profit. I'll try to better keep the topic updated for upcoming DLC and content. Cheers.

Happy hunting guys, see you at the safe house.

We want to hurt no one! We're here for the bank's money, not your money. Your money is insured by the federal government, you're not gonna lose a dime! Think of your families, don't risk your life. Don't try and be a hero!

...3 seconds before an alarm gets tripped. Welcome to the job, gentlemen.

Want to hold off playing anymore until the full release. I'm pretty weak though.

I tried, but the sheer amount of people who want to play has forced my hand into clicking that play button again and again. It's crazy!

A pet peeve but why do you have the UK release in front of the NA one? I would get it if there was some kind of alphabetical thing going on but N comes before U :p

I am excited about this one after enjoying the beta time.

Such a great game. Surprise of the year for me, was totally off my radar until a week ago when I randomly watched some livestream on Twitch and was hooked immediately.

Also, for those in doubt about playing with randoms: I've put over 20 hours in the beta and played with nothing but randoms. Worked out great every time. People are polite, communicate through text chat and never badmouth you if you mess up [which you will].

The great thing about this game is that everyone is in it for the same reason - pulling off a heist. So everyone knows what is at stake and everyone knows what has to be done. It's actually quite amazing to see how well a group of completely random people can work together as a unit, 9 out of 10 times without any form of communication.

Been playing with friends, tons of improvements over the original and very excited for the full thing to release. If you liked the first game, I certainly think you'll love this one. It feels like a sequel rather than just an expansion, which can be rare for these type of games.

If the idea of pulling off bank heists (with or without friends) sounds appealing to you, I give my whole recommendation.

Misread thread title as "safe horse". Game now needs a safe horse.

Been having fun with the beta, looking forward to the full release.

For anyone who has played the beta, how is the 360 pad support? I've been a console gamer for most of my life and prefer the 360 pad over KB/M when it comes to shooters(Flame Shield ON). I'd rather not get this on 360, since I just built a new PC.

Full controller support though I heard that when you're using a pad you can't use your mouse and keyboard (so you can't type).

Game needs a Versus and Survival mode and then it will be better than L4D in every way. No we can't have both games.

I'm picking this up for 360 and need some more partners in crime, if anyone's interested in pulling off some capers next week when this drops my GT is: The Visualizer

Now that the beta has been opened to people that bought payday 1, there has been an influx of fucking douchebags. I want penalties for host assholes that quit because they got put in custody. Oh hai, its on overkill but I can just run out into the street, get caught, then quit, and fuck everyone else. I literally just played 7 games in a row where some douchebag host quit because they sucked.

And for those that don't know, the host quitting boots everyone out to the main menu. I sincerely hope they implement something to combat this.

That was the main reason I always hosted matches on Payday 1, either you got into a terrible group or the host is an ass hat trying to be rambo and gets downed asap then quits. The only reason I ever kicked was if someone was trolling or being a dumb ass, never kicked low level people, I mean people have to start somewhere.

None of my friends want to get this game, any idea if its doable/fun in pickup games? Or will people just get too frustrated?

Too many goddamn people playing like its CoD now that its open.

From some extended play with the beta i think the difficulty will put some people off
but ill be dammed if this is not the most fun i have had with a game for a long time

They have really nailed the feel of what it would be like in the movie Heat

My only negatives so far is that you cant move bodies or i dont think you can use a human shield but the rest of the game is brilliant

some of the harder settings are punch a hole in the wall hard and you can have the perfect job shot to pieces literally metres from the getaway car

Those are the type of people who will never have the patience to do a stealth run, or even let their partners do a stealth run and wait on them. It's balls to the wall all the time every time.

I remember people asking me to get the sapphires on diamond heist in the first game, then some random person would come in and get spotted by security immediately because they couldn't wait.

I want it to be hard, at least a challenge, the first game wasn't even hard enough at times on Overkill and Overkill 145+ if you had 4 good high level players.

I started playing the beta last night and I'm really impressed but how the hell can you play it without turning into Call Of Duty? Every time I put the mask on all hell breaks lose and I get wave after wave of police. I'm probably playing it wrong but considering that I've never played the first Payday that shouldn't come as a suprise.

Certainly enjoyed playing the beta enough to pre-purchase it, but honestly I still have absolutely no idea about what skills or specialisation I'll end up going for - ended up never really spending any skill points.
