Best Philly school (that isn't Penn) reporting in.

Trading Places was on SpikeTV last night. I have to watch that movie every time it's on. I don't know why it escaped me that the police station was actually CCP/the old mint for so long.

I don't think it's in Philly, but I really want to know where that room where the walls are covered with portraits where they have the big meeting and Winthorpe is framed.

I'm thinking of moving to philly relatively soon. does anyone have any experience with postgreen homes?

I've heard good things about them. Their designs are pretty nice, very energy efficient, and very reasonably priced from what I've seen. You looking at Awesometown or Folsom Powerhouse?

Ayyyy, PhillyGAF! I just moved to Delco (Folsom, to be specific) a couple weeks back from Trenton, NJ. I've yet to actually head into the city, but I signed up for some improv classes at PHIT that start Sunday. You guys know anything about PHIT? A friend recommended the place to me, I figured it would be a good way to meet people and give me something to do. I also plan on checking out that Future Sensations art exhibit I saw a few pages back.

Anyhow, glad to see this topic was made, I'm looking forward to exploring the city!

I don't know anything about PHIT, but what I do know is it's two blocks from the Mutter Museum. Take my advice, do as I say, go in early to class one day and go to the Mutter Museum.

Actually, I am going there tonight for an event at the Philadelphia College of Physicians.

Drexel is great if you want to pay more money than you'll make in the next twenty years.

Honestly, the value in Drexel is the co-ops, not the classes.

And, at sticker price, Drexel is overpriced, but I, and many others, got scholarships for GPA that took care of 2/3 of the annual tuition.

Still got 22k in loans though, haha.

Me and my girlfriend are finally heading to the Mutter on Saturday. Slightly embarrassing to live in the area (Abington) and not have visited to this point.

I think I paid only slightly more than that for my entire education.

Eh, my connects that I got through coops nailed down my first job that I'm starting on the 15th. I don't think I'd trade my time at Drexel for a comparable school. The baseline 1.5yrs of work experience before graduation is more useful than any classes.

I just might. Ask the Boston people what happened during PAX East last year lol

Better be careful. I have event connections throughout the city...

Yeah it sounds like you got a great deal. My college experience was boring as shit, but dirt cheap. I worked ~30 hours a week during college. I lived about 20 mins drive from Kutztown University so I just stayed in my parents house. I wouldn't change it because it was a great program and I saved so much damn cash, but it certainly wasn't the most thrilling experience.

This is why I don't think there's a one-size-fit-all method to higher education. Do what you think will be best for you and learn how to sell your abilities and experience.

That's about all there is to it.

lol no surprise, place is really yucky

Dim sum garden doesn't serve dim sum, it's all shanghai food. They just use the name to trick white people.

Never heard of Nom Wah, must be very new.

You're better off buying dim sum in the freezer aisle at an Asian market than going to ocean harbor
