Level 100 Shiny Raikou from GTS is most likely hacked right?
Level 100 Shiny Raikou from GTS is most likely hacked right?
Say that to Porygon2 one of the most common pokemon in the meta due to that item!
For the general goal of making NFE comparable to FEs it's not great.
a pokemon i dont care for, what about the other hundreds that it doesnt benefit?
a 1% usefulness isnt exactly a good rating
pretty much yeah. Even if it was comparable, it still takes up an item slot.
I dont know how people can think this game at all promotes pokemon as friends when my pokemon have useless nature alignments, so id have to get rid of my "friends".
Having to use bottlecaps for hyper training is just another joke alternative for the real thing too. The game is all but saying "your pokemon is shit, get a new one"
Hypertraining is really for Legendaries and has some very specialised use on certain Hidden Power pokemon but breeding is likely far more efficient than hypertraining for most Pokemon, given you need an absurd festival plaza level and setup to raise Pokemon to 100 efficiently and get caps efficiently.
Yeah, there's some pretty serious gameplay and story segregation in competitive battling since perfection is effectively necessary and most Pokemon aren't.
Is there any way to get something like a Fire-type Vulpix with the cross sign next to it?
Perfect, thanks!Mother must hold an everstone.
Just because you don't like them, doesn't mean those things don't exist or matter in the wider tone of the world. Those things exist, whether you like them or not is irrelevant.TIL the shitty minigames equate to individuality...
The only pokemon you could even customize was the ugly poodle in XY, and their "nature" equates to nothing more than statistics. Statistics that determine if people even keep using the pokemon at all.
What if you want to do more than just beat the single player and play online? (which i did, with vulpix which got KOd in one hit by basically everything). You are forced to do the things I mentioned.
Ive mentioned before that EV training is just you abusing adrenal glands of pokemon so they panic and call for help while you beat the crap out of everything that shows up. You can say that im taking it too seriously, but the game took itself super seriously to the point it became cringe. Lillies line about pokemon not being for collecting might be the single worst piece of dialogue in a videogame, considering that we have been doing nothing but collecting them for 20 years and theres even a subscription/bank service to store them now
But sure, becoming a tiny 2d sprite on the pelago that gives you berries like an automation is totally personable :/

Not being able to sweep with a Vulpix is YOUR problem, not a fault of the game. again, you're choosing to ignore the methods of EV training that don't involve battling to further this warped narrative that fighting Zubats to get faster undermines the individuality of a Pokémon.
You're reaching to justify something that would be completely unprecedented in the series and be totally inconsistent with both the game's writing or mechanics.
ok, you show me a competitive team with a vulpix that has poor stats and ill concede that its possible. But apparently its my problem.
Everything about the game tells you to just get rid of that pokemon instead because, even though you dont want to admit it, theyre treated like disposable equipment in every possible way until you grind your way to having a perfect team that has good synergy.
If youre using the pellago to max EV stats, you're going to be waiting a fucking long time even with the best items used just to raise one stat.
I feel like im losing my mind talking to people who disagree that we should be able to use our favourite evolution without being massively gimped.
Even with different natures the pokemon look and act identically to any other of their kind. There is absolutely nothing individual about them other than stats used for battles (or a shiny palette if you bother with that)
lmfao @ inconsistent with the games writing and mechanics, as if gamefreaks EVER cared about that kind of consistency.
Evolving Vulpix into Ninetails isn't getting rid of it though, its raising it to its mature form. And Hypertraining (absurd levels of inefficiency aside) solved most IV issues (Hidden Power and preferred 0 IV stats aside). There are certainly a wide variety ways in which certain Pokemons and lines are totally non-competive and you're encouraged to trash them: Bad Nature, lack of Hidden Abilities or Egg Moved for some species and belonging to Pokemon lines that are utterly non-competitive like Spinda, force you to discard a Pokemon you may be find of in order to be able to compete.
Nine Tails looks more like a standard fox to me and almost looks like it loses all of its sentience. I just don't like it, and its not its exactly its mature form if it only gets that way through the ice stone.
my cat of 20yrs dying fucked me up really bad and ive seen too much shit on the internet to the point where its just too hard to suspend disbelief for some of this now
Its really unfortunate since pokemon was one of my favorite franchises, and the creature designs are so cute.
I think the game broke me because of how poorly they treated pikachu this gen, which is easily one of my favorites. Not only the anime and spinoffs, but the main games even had Pikachu as expressively and emotionally human ie. pkmn yellow, and GS pokedex being specifically about how its intelligent. But this game just had one frozen indefinitely in carbonite as a cheap plot device, and promotional art showing one just being murdered because that appeals to someone? is it the people who enjoy that lady who stamps on kittens as their fetish? am I just way too sensitive?.
If you mean the Pokedex is even more messed up than usual and turned Mega-Evolution into some weird evil thing while now being explicitly treated as accurate in world, then no you're not the only one who doesn't get why anyone thought that would be a good idea behind over exposure to Grimdark. Pokemon liking battling is pretty weird in a world where they accidentally kill their trainers and explicitly eat each other.

Apologies if this has alredy been asked before, but what is the preferred nature for Solgaleo? I have a Jolly right now but I'm torn between keeping him and SRing for an Adamant.
Not really into competitive battles, but I'd like to have the best version of the cover legendary I can reasonably get.
Does anyone know another good set for Chandelure? I've really only used a Choice Scarf set with Overheat, Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, Will-o-Wisp but think it's time for something new. What are some other sets I could use with it? Also it doesn't matter if it's a doubles or singles set.
Statwise it looks like it could do Choice Specs and it's immune to trapping which mitigates a weakness of Choice sets and Flash Fire can be used for a free Switch in if you can predict a fire move. Not really sure about moveset in the current Meta.
You can refight it.Question: the very last fight, against?Tapu Koko, should I use my master ball on him? Can I get him after the fight? Any other thing I should save it for
Adamant probably , it's Atk is significantly above Sp Atk and it's Special STAB selection is poor compared to Physical (which is a bit of a shame because it's Special movepool is otherwise decent and it gets Calm Mind).
I have a Poliwhirl holding a Kings Rock. Can anyone help me with a trade so it evolves to Politoad?

Sure, missing that in my dex currently, will update this post with the fc (need to do it in oess then 15 min, will go shop some food after that if the time runs out)
I see. The speed boost it gets with Jolly not worth it then?

EDIT 2: added your fc waiting for the console to confirm it' then goes online
Cool got two to do if that's ok? Going online now.

Im back from the store, sure we can do this now, online atm!
EDIT: trading the politoed for the second one would be more efficient +1 extra trades for possible bonuses?
Thanks for that Smasher. If you need me to do any anytime for you drop me a PM.
Doh! Did not know about bonuses.
You can refight it.
I see both sides of the discussion. Personally I'd love to have a competitive battle with some of the cute mons but it's not really something you can do easily. I totally get that you can do it Wiseblade, but how many people can be successful at it? Can I really take a Vulpix into online and compete with a Mega Salamence? We're talking about a 4x advantage on my part and I'll still lose. So Saying that someone isn't good enough to pull that off is like saying a one legged person can still win a game of soccer (team game). Sure, it's possible, but its such a huge handicap that you absolutely will lose matches because of such a severe handicap.
So while I don't personally like the idea of making a Vulpix = to a Ninetales in online battles, I can see Altairax's point. I think LC kind of is the best answer here, but since its not officially supported, I've never been able to play it. And that's kind of the problem right there. Of course adding LC splits up the player base. It's a fine line to tread.
LC = little cup? that just prevents you from using your other favorites, and kind of seemed like a less popular/gimmicky format. What would be wrong with making the unevolved pokemon as viable though as long as you have earned the prerequisites? I just dont think we should be forced to have them look like something else.
I was thinking like a totem version as an alternative or something would be neat. Pokemon was always about overcoming the odds with training, and the underdog appeal.

I mean wouldn't a simple solution be having something akin to eviolite but have it make the base stats identical to a fully evolved pokemon? I guess that would be tough to do with split evolution pokemon like Eevee and such but that way pokemon like the mentioned Vulpix could have the stats of Ninetales but at the loss of not being able to hold another item.
This is exactly the thing my friends and I want to happen. It would be a good balance between item management and being able to use the exact Pokemon we'd want to use without being truly handicapped with the stats of an NFE. Though as you stated, Pokemon with split evolutions could be a potential problem, I still think it would be a great idea in the longrun. I'd love to use a Larvesta with the base stats of a Volcarona.I mean wouldn't a simple solution be having something akin to eviolite but have it make the base stats identical to a fully evolved pokemon? Speed is a funny thing and depends on the meta, if there's nothing notable you outspeed from the nature boost its not very useful.
The meta will be in flux for a while since bank just came out (Battle Spot doubles probably won't settle until VGC allows non-Alolan-dex mons), so it might turn out to be, but doesn't seem to be now.
In Ubers, Speed tends to not be as important as in OU and under simply due to most mons there having some decent to great bulk. Solgaleo's type is honestly pretty good as a defensive option, so Adamant is fine. His big deal is dealing with Xerneas, and Xerneas outspeeds him anyways so just go full power.
You can refight it.
Fixed for accuracy. Can't waste your Masterball if you NEVER USE IT.
Cool, thanks. Do I just go back to where I fought it previously? Anything harder to catch I should save the masterball for?
Save it for Necrozma.
You may need to beat the elite four for it to appear again.
