Not this shit again. You had your chance. You paraded her around as a "strong female character" before release.

The game said otherwise.

Yeahhhhhh

I mean, everyone who played the game pretty much feels like this. Had your chance, Tabata.

I thought he was referring to Gladio's sister, who's the only female character who I can remember being involved in any combat in the game. However, I can't remember her name.

Seriously, i saw the title and thought that we would finally know what hapenned with Aranea during all those years of Noctis absence. We never see her again, and she didn't have any kind of conclusion to her story.

Aranea was a guest member during one chapter too!

It's cool when devs take fan feedback into consideration, but in this case, it seems like they're relying very heavily on fan feedback. Almost as if they don't really know what to do

All they asked is why she doesn't have more content, and he goes right back to the "strong female character" lines. I'm starting to get annoyed just hearing it still almost one year later and I didn't have a strong opinion on her character or development to begin with.

There is a difference between good backstory/good character, and presented story/presented character.

You can write a tragic, emotional, strong backstory and character, but if it isn't put into practice then you can't assert that the character as shown in the proper story is all the things that she is in her unseen backstory.

Suppose you write a ruler character that has significant education, broad experience among people, and past charity, but this ruler character appears briefly in actual plot as a rude, arrogant, stupid ruler. You cannot turn around and claim that this ruler character is actually a generous and wonderful leader.

What you are doing is filling in the character that is shown with the backstory details you know, and using your imagination to write a different female character from the one presented in FF15.

But I am not filling in the gap at all or using my imagination.
All the stuff I wrote was shown in the game.
From the past and foreshadowing moment with Noct as a kid, from her tragic past and upbringing, from her helping the poors/disables with her power, from her last breath trying to finish her duty as an oracle, everything was shown to you.

Kagari was right when she would repeatedly call this game "a fantasy based on feedback and focus testing." I just didn't want to accept it at the time. I mean it's clear as all hell now that the game has zero identity or vision. It's just a jumbled mess of trend chasing and advertisement.
