Can we speak in standard units of measurement for videogame consoles? How many gamecubes duct taped together would this be?
going by the specs, i'd say it's orange times more powerful.
let's just say the GPU retails for $550.
At 120 FPS and while shooting the finger at you, probably. If it were true.But...it'll be able to run Agni's Philosophy?
Topic starter is mistakenly claiming that, but the post he's quoting isn't. It just says that chip from Tahiti family is in PS4 and 7970 is Tahiti family as well. Misleading but not incorrect.
Not like that really matters to console makers since it does not cost half as much .

This thing? Sure.But...it'll be able to run Agni's Philosophy?
Not really that easily, even if it were trueAt 120 FPS and while shooting the finger at you, probably. If it were true.
Enough of this stupid techno mumbo jumbo.
Tell me how many Gamecubes taped together it is.
Still a $300 video card is outrageous and silly. Especially considering they have to incorporate it into the motherboard, and not just plugging it in.
Indeed. For it to be a tahiti based gpu in that range it would have to be a 7850 likely.
And going with Steamroller for the CPU would be pretty odd. AMD has all but admitted defeat in CPU for the high end
I'm sick and tired of being trolled by an incredible amount of uncontrolled rumors.
Liverpool are in Europa league, hence, they are in Europe.
Those specs are a Kop out.
The 7850 is pitcairn. Only 7970 and 7950 at tahiti.

lol, no. Considering the power requirement and heat generated, a 7970 in console size box is practically impossible
Liverpool? That can't be good.
Eh, sounds like too much and (can anyone provide older info from PS3 / PS2 for reference?) those code names don't sound real.

Sony overpowering again. *sigh* I was hoping they would do something different. I hope this isn't true.
I don't know man, it's possible. I mean, I know that I'll be able to experience 4D soon enough and it has to get there somehow. If anything, modern science should allow me to live to be at least ~800 years old so it's really just a matter of time. Why not sooner than later? Some of you people are going to be extremely sad if this is really the kind of hardware you're expecting.
I'm not even worried about this. They will do 4GB in the end.4gb of RAM please.
RAM is so important.

That's not 7970. 7970 is roughly 2x more than 1840GFlops I think. This is more like 7850 or 7870 if correct.
Probably because they give more favorable conditions in IP licencing than Intel or NV would be willing to.why is ATI winning all these designs?
Almost every 'rumour' (as in, coming from the developers with devkit access, so not really a rumour) has matched what this post described. Steamroller CPU, ~1.7-1.8GFlop GPU, 2GB of unified RAM. That's almost assuredly what the devkit is right now, or was a few months ago. For Xbox, it's supposed to be a weaker GPU, much more memory (4-6GB) and CPU with more cores, but different architecture. Some of you people are going to be extremely sad if this is really the kind of hardware you're expecting.
No, I really doubt that.1840GFlops is for the GPU that's in the APU
