Brr, looks like this is done by their console team. Don't know if want. :I

Yep... unfortunately, upon seeing the direct feed screens, my suspicion that this is by the Evolution/Baroque team rather than the Riviera/Yggdra Union/Knights in the Nightmare team has only grown stronger.

I'll likely take a pass if that's the case. Their games are pretty awful.

Is the Evolution and Baroque team really the same? This certainly reminds me of the Evolution games, and that's probably not a good thing lol.

I don't know... both are for consoles (in contrast to the Dept. Heaven games), and both are dungeon crawlers with a lot of similar flaws, so I kind of assumed so. I usually only go on a detailed analysis of credits for games I like, but in this case maybe I should as a cautionary tale?

Maybe they're not the same team. Maybe there are two distinct teams at Sting making terrible dungeon cralwers, and this game is just made by one of the two. Either way... :(

I'm pretty uninterested in Yggdra Unison, too. Two disappointing Sting announcements in one day was fairly unexpected. Hopefully the next Dept. Heaven game isn't announced too far in the future.

Ugh the character design is lifted straight from Summon Nights : Twin Age on the DS.

Hopefuly the story is better than in that game....

Well, I'm not sure if people are aware, but back in March Atlus Japan signed a major publishing deal with Sting. The deal promised that Atlus would publish and promote the upcoming titles, while Sting would expand their existing brands while developing new ones for Atlus. The speculation is generally that these two titles are a direct result of that. Marketable stuff which fits into the Atlus portfolio, and done as something to cash in on.

i have heard bit of bashing for Baroque. It was good for a Rogue-like RPG game, right?
or is it that people like to criticize every game in the genre?

Out this month I believe. Really looking forward to this, be nice to see an jRPG on the PSP that is pushing to be more on PS2 levels of visual flair. Quite a lot of 2D and sRPG efforts so this stands out a mile to me.

The in game characters remind me of the FFIX look.

Found some gameplay vids:

the 3rd one is strangely sluggish while the first two are smooth as melty butter.

Did anyone take the dive? Most of the reviews I've read seem very positive.

There's an official thread for this game IIRC. I'd link you, but I'm on a mobile browser incapable of copying and pasting.
