Felix gives some details of how it works around the 42:00 mark. No numbers or anything, but gives some info about the process. One other thing we don’t know is how MS pays the developers. If the games are on clock or not - likely they are. The longer you play a game, the more money goes towards the dev. How will this effect 3rd party design decisions in a gamepass world?
I may be misunderstanding this last sentence but, have they said buying a Series X gets you Game Pass for free? I figure a month trial would be included or something.
It's very good when looking for confirmation that you may not be insane. Are we really putting value in the opinions of retards like YongYea now?

You are comparing Pc Game Pass to Game Pass Ultimate, also the 4 bucks is a limited time offer. Regular price is 9,99 just like the console Game Pass.I don't feel like Gamepass is worth 15 bucks a month. I pay €4 a month for the PC version and that's insane value obviously, but I wouldn't pay $15.
I am also amused at the sudden switch in tune from "power!" to "Value!"It’s so weird to see some people failing to understand something that is incredibly basic.
Value is perception of.
Nintendo games don’t drop in price. Think about that.
It's available on PC.
Nope not at all.Seems like that's important to you lol
Somewhat. Otherwise they wouldn't make a new console. They will also be selling consoles through theinAccess payment plan...and will soon be announcing the cheap Series S - ideal for GamePass. You guys don’t seem to understand the more consoles sold the more people will buy into gamepass. If the same people just re sub then there won’t be any growth. So console sales are very important to Microsoft don’t let them fool you
Do you mean that the games on Game Pass itself aren't worth their top value anymore? It’s so weird to see some people failing to understand something that is incredibly basic.

Do you know why Bethesda abandoned using PC as the base for their TES series?Somewhat. Otherwise they wouldn't make a new console. They will also be selling consoles through theinAccess payment plan...and will soon be announcing the cheap Series S - ideal for GamePass.
But clearly they are venturing into a larger, untapped market...PC gaming space. All the work they've dont to get games onto Steam (3 of top 5 current games are MS Studio games). They also have GamePass for PC. They should see growth for a long time.
I think they ported it to see how much money they can make with their games on pc. Why should a pc gamer buy a PlayStation for part 2 if he didn't buy it for part 1? And even if they do, Sony won't make much money with pc gamers. Sony makes money with 3rd party games and PS+ and pc gamers can have the games cheaper, with better graphics and free online gaming.Hell, I suspect the only reason Sony is releasing Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, is to use it as advertising for the sequel. "You enjoy HZD on PC? Then buy a PS5 if you want the sequel, or wait 7 years. Your choice."
Once someone bought a PS5, it is sunk cost and generally they are more likely to buy something else later. The first step, that of buying the console itself, is the biggest barrier. Becoming the owner of a PS5 console massively increase the odds of buying PS5 games than Not.I think they ported it to see how much money they can make with their games on pc. I know what Sony's plans are/were, but i doubt it works too well and even Sony can't know for sure if it does, because they don't know why people bought a console. Worst case for Sony is selling PS5 with a loss and people only getting used exclusives and maybe a warranty case on top. For example i didn't play a single multiplatformer on my PS4 and only used games. Of course there are also people buying a PS4 for let's say Spider-Man and then they bought FIFA and so on. Guess we have to wait if more games are coming to pc and maybe even faster. I Death Stranding and Horizon are a huge success on Steam, i bet we see more.Once someone bought a PS5, it is sunk cost and generally they are more likely to buy something else later. 1st party games are used to convince people to buy the machine. Releasing HZD1 on PC could still do this task, specifically because the sequel is soon to launch and stay a PS5 exclusives for the forseeable hardware generation. This is similar to releasing a movie on TV prior to its sequel film premiering in cinemas.

1st Party games are made to sell consoles. With PS4 in its twilight years I suspect PS4 1st party games already did what they could. In general they will get packed into next year's PS4 Superslim basically for free. So if their only future in PS4 is being given away, then selling any number on PC is just gravy.I know what Sony's plans are/were, but i doubt it works too well and even Sony can't know for sure if it does, because they don't know why people bought a console. What you said but didn't make clear, is that Nintendo has QUALITY on their side.Gamepass has better value but they cant be compared with nintendos first party output. Also its nintendo they can get away with anything these days.
That's because it's actually that good.honestly starting to wonder if Gamepass is being shilled. the endless threads about the exact same subject is incredible. either that or a lot of insecurity
it would be like 5 threads a week made by nintendo or sony fans about how many highly rated exclusives they have.
and it's funny to see how many people MS have successfully convinced that console sales aren't important.
Said it before, say it again... GamePass is a great deal if you’re already an Xbox or PC gamer. But I don’t see how it gets fresh people to buy into the ecosystem, given how expensive a PC or Xbox is to buy. And if your marketing strategy is only to retain existing customers, you will be in trouble quickly. Services don’t sell consoles, games do.
The thing its you get more than these two games for less money and these games dont left the service in six monthsI only had a PS4, bought a One X last summer just for Gamepass, same for my buddy. The value is just impossible to ignore. I think Rise or Shadow of the Tomb Raider and NBA 2K20 were PS Plus games of the month in July, those games have been on Gamepass for more than a year or several months already (2K20), I cancelled my PS Plus membership, throwing money out the window since I don't even play online.
No I wasn't asking what exclusive games MS released or which ones were on gamepass.
I was asking which MS first party games have been decent quality in the last 3-5 years.
crackdown was hyped for example and after release passed off as 'perfect for game pass'
The thing its you get more than these two games for less money and these games dont left the service in six months
Also as soon as you stop paying for PS Plus you lose access to those games.
a few dollars?Sorta!
I mean you pay a few dollars monthly and get access to a yuge library of games, where in old times you need to pay $40-60, each, without sales.
Insane value.
This analogy only makes sense if there are Gamepass exclusive games and then everything else. Or if parts get stripped out of games before they arrive on the service. What you said but didn't make clear, is that Nintendo has QUALITY on their side.
My restaurant analogy applies; if a restaurant advertises how cheap you could feed a family of 5, that is a different goal to someone who want to have an important dinner date. Having a lot for cheap is fine, but it doesn't appeal to everyone. I myself went to an all you could eat Buffet twice, before never going back there.
Games lose value over time. This is why Sony was willing to release HZD1 on PC; they can use the game to advertise the sequel. This analogy only makes sense if there are Gamepass exclusive games and then everything else. Or if parts get stripped out of games before they arrive on the service.
That doesn't happen. You get the same games on your dinner date as you do at your buffet, only you have to pay more for them at your dinner date.
The Witcher 3 is still a masterpiece on Gamepass, whether you have played it before or not.
If you can't see a single title of interest being added monthly on Gamepass, either you have shocking taste or you just buy a hell of a lot more games than the average person. Maybe you just don't like subscription models. All of those things are fine, but don't act like that means the service is bad or somehow lower quality as a result.
So how does this work into your analogy? Quality has nothing to do with cost when it comes to art. Someone playing The Witcher for the first time enjoys it as much as someone who paid much more for it at launch.Games lose value over time. This is why Sony was willing to release HZD1 on PC; they can use the game to advertise the sequel.
The only company where games don't lose value is Nintendo. Every other game lose value over time. If Microsoft could have sold as many first party games at 60 dollars as Sony, there wouldn't BE a Gamepass. Gamepass has less desirable games, old games, and indies, available in bulk at a low price that they should be at.
There is nothing wrong in buying bulk for cheap; but there is a reason "Value" isn't used to advertise AAA games.
That does sound enticing. Here’s hoping for next gen bringing the goods like that.Honestly, I have gotten more value out of PC Gamepass than I have Xbox gamepass. There is a satisfying thrill in playing games like Metro Redux at 4K/60+ and earning achievements and playing Metro Exodus the way it was meant to be played.
I am currently playing Dishonored 2 at 4K/60 on my OLED and it's an experience.

It also helps that Xbox Achievements in games does not require something as awful as Games for Windows Live. It's very simple right now.The introduction of achievements to a lot of games on PC seems to be the tipping point for me. Not sure why thats what it took.
Thats not true at all, and also you lose access to all game pass game if you stop paying, Whats your point again?and most are crappy. Also as soon as you stop paying for PS Plus you lose access to those games.
Which is exactly the same as it is on Gamepass and Xbox Live. The only games MS allowed you to keep was 360 games and even now I am not sure that is the case.PS Plus you lose access to those games.

Oh, i have two xbox x and a one box s, subscribed to game pass since day one, tell me more about what i dont know about game pass x, also a lot of games left the service after six months and others like gtv entered on january and left in May, get Your facts or your will lose your gamepass embassator status
"The 2019 revenue included $64.4 billion for mobile games, $29.6 billion for PC, and $15.4 billion for consoles."Do you know why Bethesda abandoned using PC as the base for their TES series?
It is because PC gaming earns less money than consoles.
I find it hilarious that people are claiming PC is some untapped money mountain. Making money on PC game is hard because customers are far more demanding and have far more competting cheap games to play. If MS is hoping that they would make more money from PC gamers than Console gamers, I say good luck to that.
Seriously, what made you think PC gaming is "untapped"? Because no matter which way i read it, it makes no logical sense.
Hell, I suspect the only reason Sony is releasing Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, is to use it as advertising for the sequel. "You enjoy HZD on PC? Then buy a PS5 if you want the sequel, or wait 7 years. Your choice."
How about you get Gamepass (for real) and enjoy like more than 10 million gamers or just go cry in silence with your PS plus subscription. What do you think?
This analogy only makes sense if there are Gamepass exclusive games and then everything else. Or if parts get stripped out of games before they arrive on the service.

Exactly!
Comparing GamePass to a cheap buffet lol, GamePass is actually more like a voucher to some of your favorite restaurants.
My favorite restaurant is CD Project Red and tonight I'm having The Witcher 3
COme on in, the water is fine.I don’t have an Xbox anymore (been on the PlayStation side of the coin this gen after flitting back and forth) but damn if Game Pass doesn’t sound like a hugely tempting proposal.
I don’t play games anywhere near as avidly as I used to, and therefore have less discerning tastes. To be able to pay a sub, Netflix style, to play a curated selection of games is far more appealing to me than my current method of hitting “buy” on a load of games I’ll probably never really get around to playing.
Game Pass (along with thermal/noise performance of the consoles) is a huge deciding factor for me next gen.
