Did anyone ever check out 'Secret of Mana +'? It was completely seperate musical arrangement from Hiroki Kikuta that I'm guessing was inspired by the original music.

I stumbled across the CD about 15 years back and whilst the music from the game is barely recognisable it's still worth checking out. A piece of Mana history and all that....

This is great, thanks. It's quite different, but you can hear the original themes and melodies every now and then.

The idea reminds me of the amazing Final Fantasy VI Grand Finale CD.
That stuff is amazing.

Yeah, I bought it at the Gamefan store. Was soooo disappointed.
I like it much more now.

My copy of Seiken Densetsu 3 came in the mail today. It's obviously completely in Japanese, but I'm making my way through pretty easily so far. It's a gorgeous looking game for sure.

Something interesting I noticed yesterday, is that Secret of Mana is now in the top 20 best selling games on the Wii's Virtual Console in Europe. Would love to have this game on the Wii U's Virtual Console!

I really wish my brother never through away the Secret of Mana poster that was in a Nintendo Power. We had it on his bedroom wall for so many years before my parents bought the game for him. Man, did it surpass all of our expectations that Christmas.

It's already out in Japan so it's just a matter of Square Enix getting its shit together for Western releases. I'm still incredibly pissed about their completely idiotic and irrational and nonsensical and plain dumb no-screenshot policy.

I just finished Secret of Mana again tonight. What an excellent game. I still get a bit choked up after
the Sprite vanishes after you kill the mana beast, and then at the end of the credits he's alone looking up at the sky
.

Ha, I had that poster too :). I have no idea what happened to it.

What a great OP. Really nostalgic and brought back a lot of memories. Definetly makes me want to play this again.

Classic. It made for an amazing SNES summer that year.

I used to love the part with the sandship, even though it was a short bit.

I love this game, but I still need to finish it. I keep getting close to the end and then I get busy, with something else and stop playing. Also I get really pumped when I hear the Flamie theme lol.

First time I ever played Secret of Mana, I'd just got my wisdom teeth pulled. I blazed through the first couple hours before yielding to the painkillers. The next couple of days I played through the game totally enthralled.

A couple years later I played again - once I got past the first boss, I found myself in an unrecognized area, I kept playing but had no recollection of anything. I hadn't realized until that moment but playing the game high on Demerol and Tylenol 3 had resulted in me forming zero memories of the first couple areas of the game. Surreal.

Can't believe that was twenty years ago!

Secret of Mana+ is fantastic, absolutely love the arrangement. I remember buying this back in the late 90's at Chicago ComicCon thinking it was the OST. I was disappointed that it wasn't, but after listening to it on the way home, I was sold after that telephone part came on.

I actually prefer this to the OST. It's a better listening experience than the 1-3 min songs on the OST.

Supposedly Secret of Mana+ does have some sort of tracklist (even though the whole thing is seamless), but no player could use it due to the way it was coded:

I have yet to finish this game and that saddens me. I need to call my buddy and have them block off a weekend so we can power through it. This also reminds me that I should really pick up an SNES multitap.

One of my favorite games of all time. I've been saving my next replay for either the Wii U Virtual Console release or my GCWzero to arrive, whichever happens first.

Square needs to get its act together. The game has been out in Japan on WiiU VC since July or something.

I'm extremely insecure with how much f2p mobile games are encroaching on Nintendo
...that damn Mana Beast..

God this game bring back memories. My only regret is not having a multi-tap to play 3 players, but this was such an awesome game

I'm embarrassed that I only checked out Spectrum of Mana now. Wow. And this artwork!

Incredible!

Man ever since I first heard the song Prophecy(3rd flight theme) I've never found a more unique world/travel theme in a game. In fact, SOM1 and 2 both have some of the most unique RPG soundtracks and there is no other game that sounds like it IMO.
