Currently rocking a long distance relationship at the moment. Met this girl when I lived in Charleston. We worked together for about a month and really hit it off, but I had to move back home to Omaha to take care of some family issues and was left wondering what could have been.

Fast-forward 4 years. Both of us have been in long-term relationships with other people, but have still kept in touch and been friends. Both newly single, we decided to meet up in Chicago to hang out with a mutual friend. She'd never been and it's my favorite place ever, so it seemed like a great choice. I had no preconceived notions about the trip at all, but the relationship didn't so much rekindle as someone doused an entire can of lighter fluid on it.

So yeah, we've been talking on the phone a lot. I hate talking on the phone in general, but we talk at least 30 min every night if that tells you anything. I'm not married to my job, my family stuff has been worked out and she's trying to get out of Charleston... so we have no idea what lies ahead. I guess that just makes it that much more exciting! Anyway, onto the pics:

We're engaged but having run into a few financial snags (mostly her not finding a job that fits her degree) we decided to wait until we can do it correctly basically, but we plan on getting married when we're entirely stable financially. Neither of us are rushing it though, just kind of a 'when it won't bankrupt us and we can make it nice we'll do it' thing, she hasn't ever pushed for it, but does want to get married when we can, which is for the best really.

Rare though, the girl I was with before her was very rush rush on marriage, almost as if the marriage is more important than the groom part

Very crude, but we manage to get across what we're trying to say - most of the time. In the app store, search for ipronunciation. It's a free app, but it needs internet connection to function, unfortunately. The translation is wonky a lot of the times, so it's a matter of trial and error in terms of typing things in to translate.

Of course we've banged. It's a pretty crazy (but awesome) story about how it all went down, and very unexpected - especially since she's Japanese, and girls that I've come across here in Japan aren't "generally" as direct and aggressive about chasing guys. Especially foreigners with whom they can't communicate with! I'm still trying to understand why and how she operates the way she does.
