Oh so the boost stage in the casino stage is glitched? Oh thank goodness!

I had some ok challenges and close races up to that point, but that stage seemed impossible. Glad to know that it is...how do I skip it?

I looked at that list and all I could think was: Where the heck is anyone from...

Jacky & Akira's data is found in the disc, altho not enough for their models to be in and playable it seems.

People complaining about the Local trophies sound like...loners >_>;
I have plenty of friends, thank you. They don't play games though.
It's okay if you don't get every achievement.
I like to push myself to get every achievement. Sure, most people won't see the point but I enjoy it and that's all that matters to me.

Anyway, I'll can the achievement talk from here on out. It generally leads to inane arguments, as evidenced by the WiiU thread referencing the lack of system wide achievements.

Is the Wii U the definitive version? Or are all platforms the same?

If they're the same, is it safe to skip the Wii U version and not wait to get the system for this?

So I picked up the first game for PC yesterday and while I'm having a blast with it I'm sad to see that there's no online multiplayer. Have we got any indication if Transformed will have online for the Steam version?

Maybe I'm missing something or maybe I just suck at snaking, but these boost events seem impossible to me, even in C class.

Welp, just unlocked AGES. Those sound effects, that victory pose... pretty satisfying reward, even though there's still more of World Tour to unlock. I'm impressed, there's a good amount of content in the game.

Which version are you playing? I hear that the boost challenges are glitched in the Wii U version. Apparently, the checkpoints that are supposed to be there don't show up.

EDIT: Ah, I see it's already been mentioned in this thread.

I'm loving this game on the Wii U - I never played the first one, but this is like an Outrun game, Hydro Thunder, Diddy Kong Racing, and Mario Kart all in one! Doesn't really use the Gamepad screen for much (except when playing on the screen instead of the TV), but I do like its use of motion controls with the Gamepad.

I've played both the WiiU version and PS3.

WiiU version has the exact same framerate as the PS3 version, but with a bit better lighting on characters. That's about it graphic wise.

As of now, the Wii U version has a bad glitch thanks to the latest patch for the game. All boost missions have no checkpoints. Making it impossible to finish. You have to fail four times on easy for the game to let you pass to the next challenge. XP Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Wii U has the engine noises and character speech coming out of the game pad while the music and announcer come out of the TV. It's a cool effect.

WiiU has a twitter-like community for each game which is really cool. You can even leave spoilers as long as you mark them.

Once you have better track knowledge and are more comfortable with the items S class isn't that hard. Worst part are the challenges on Expert.

Do time trials and try to unlock expert ghosts. You'll quickly learn the fast routes and little tricks to each track (parts of them anyways).

Thanks for the impressions.

So based on the comments in this thread, looks like the 360 has the best stable framerates while Wii U and PS3 is slightly prettier.

Looks like any version is good (until they get the Wii U one fixed).

Can't wait for Vita reviews/impressions.

Well, I put my signature down for Ryo Hazuki. Hopefully he makes it in. I think he could ride Lan Di's helicopter and ride a freight ship or whatever for his transformations. :)

That's great. I already got a few of my Twitter followers to put their signatures down for Ryo. I hope that he'll end up in the top three.

Is there a way to choose which ghost you follow? I'm looking at the leaderboard and the top 10 have ghosts next to their name but I don't see an option to download etc. It seems to pick the closest to the expert ghost (or whichever ghost you're racing) but I'd prefer to see the top player.

loved the demo. played on 360 and ps3. 360 was a tad smoother so going with that, probably wouldn't of noticed if played ps3 demo first though.

cancelled my wii u console preorder. gonna wait till all the kinks are ironed out.

Can you actually play this on the Gamepad screen alone? All of the replays show the race as it appeared on the tv, so I'm not sure why it couldn't be done, but I cannot find an option to do this at all. Love the game though!

Going by performance reports on the WiiU version, I think I'll can my pre-order and pick the game up on 360.

When Segata is playable.

Phew, glad I waited for the demo. I think he framerate on PS3 is terrible. To me this is unplayable. Not smooth enough for a racing game.

just ordered the limited edition for £24.99 from amazon, had no idea it was going that cheap. i really enjoyed the first one so can't wait to give this a whirl. also i'm sure i can tempt my girlfriend into playing it/beating me on it.

I'm at work now so I can't try this until tonight, but when exactly do you do this? When the overhead map shows up on the gamepad, I just swipe down on the screen? I have never seen a prompt or anything. I'm not ordinarily an idiot, I swear!

Considering you can play the entire offline game co-op, I doubt that should be a challenge.

I don't understand. I have the Wii U version and I've played it for about 5 hours...it's fantastic.

can you play one player on gamepad, one on TV? Or one on gamepad and two (splitscreen) on TV?

If so, that should make it better than 360/PS3 for local multiplayer assuming similar overall performance?

I shot Sumo Digital a FB message last night about the Wii U bug and got a response this morning. Looks like they are aware of the issue and working with SEGA on a fix.

I haven't tried local multiplayer yet, but if somebody hasn't already answered before I get off work I'll test it out.

The Wii U port doesn't sound radically superior to the Xbox one but the online would be preferable on 360 and it's $20 cheaper than the Wii U version here in Australia.

The preview videos showed that this was the case.

How do you do a triple stunt in the car/boat?

I thought stunts were just hitting the Right Stick in a direction, but I haven't got this yet.

Up/Down on the stick are flips, and those are what you want to chain for tricks. Left/Right are rolls and help you position yourself when you land, but they also give a boost if you pull it off correctly. Hitting it again before your stunt finishes will break your chain and kill your boost too. And of course, you can't be in the middle of a stunt when you land, or you'll burn out.

What is the bug?
Wii U system update apparently affected the game in bad ways, making it load the wrong maps and completely breaking the Wii U exclusive multiplayer modes.

Is there also screen tearing in the full PS3 version?

Anyone knows?

I've seen it happen once or twice, but it's extremely rare. Only when there's a hell of a lot going on. It might actually be my TV or cable though.

I don't know if it superior at all lol. The $20 difference + online preference is a solid reason to grab the 360 version though.

Not that I noticed it, and I've played it a lot the last few days.

Thanks guys. I have also a 360 but I just don't like the blurry image in the demo. And the shadows are grainy. PS3 version looks crisp.

Would like to read a Digital Foundry Face-Off.
