ya i played through it again on Friday and had pretty much the same experience. I don't know what happened but the casino night zone boss destroyed me.
Yeah, same. I breezed through 2, but than in 3 I got to that f**king Marble Garden boss and was stuck for like half an hour. Eventually I just activated level select and skipped it.
Can I play the Japanese Gems Collection on my US Wii? I want Sonic CD with the Japanese Soundtrack.
EDIT I've googled and it seems freeloader doesn't work correctly with this game and PAL Wii, but what about US Wii? I have the homebrew channel installed, is there something I can install?
I don't know, I really want it since its been years since I've played it.
RubyEclipse, wherever the fuck you are? Do this and you will be forever loved by us Sonic fanboys, we want Sonic CD on XBLA/PSN! Use it to promote Sonic 4 or whatever.
And Willy, the fuck man!? You used to be cool down at Gamespot. You can enjoy some of these games, I won't understand it but its your opinion. But you can't possibly tell me that a hedgehog thats supposed to be faster than anything, able to stop time, to just drive a motorcycle which runs out of fuel, has less space available to it and is much slower just for shits and giggles is in any sort of way a good idea.
Same with a blue hedgehog who gets hit by a laser beam and becomes a "Werehog"(Which is a very fucking stupid name) who is able to stretch his limbs and is much slower. That is another bad idea.
And the thing is I'm sure MamaRobotnick, Scullibundo and co. would think my taste in Sonic games isn't what they want Sega to go with. Since I do love all the Genesis games and Sonic CD yet I love Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Spinball, 3D Blast, Mean Bean Machine, Advance 1 and 2 and Rush. I also enjoyed the Sonic segments in Unleashed, but I also on the side that wants Sonic to go back to the genesis style and look. Momentum based and all.
Because lets face it. The last 15 years was Sega just fucking around with the franchise, we haven't seen the love and care put into the genesis games in these long 15 years. All these glitchy games and many concepts brought up without being executed well. And Sonic 4 should go back to the look, style, names and world of the original games if they were serious. This is why I'm no really that excited about that game.
And MamaRobotnick, I would be OK with signing any sort of petition to bring back Sonics old look and what not. I'm not sure we'll even do it but I would sign since its just a signature.
I'm joking here, but I would sign for the fuck of it.
I played as far as the Hill Top zone in Sonic 2 today. How can anyone find the Casino Night zone boss hard? Just run or spin dash up the wall and jump off. You can hit him from pretty much anywhere.

I know. That boss is pretty easy. The one that gives me problems is Metropolis Zone's boss. I always get hit by those bubble things and lose all my rings. It's not hard by any means, but I can't beat the boss without getting hit at least once.
I always struggle on Chemical Plant. After that, I can get up to around Oil Ocean before I start to struggle again. CPZ just is a huge spike in difficulty, with the bottomless water near the end of act 2.
I used to be able to breeze Sonic 2, but I'm crap now. On 360, there's no way I would have got to the end without being able to save where I was in a level before a hard bit. Metropolis Zone would have ended me.

That boss was always more about patience than anything for me. I'd just bust the pods up for the first half of the fight, and then once enough of them were gone I could focus on hitting Robotnik for the rest of the fight with little problem.
I remember discovering how to avoid the water in the first Hydrocity Act when I was a kid.
Never went through the water again unless playing as just Sonic.
Even without that hidden path avoiding the water isn't difficult. Chemical plant could actually do with some more difficult sections as it suffers from being rather easy just like anything in Sonic2 barring metro (bonus games are fucking insane though, absolutely needs two players and AI tails makes it down right impossible).
are we talking about that part where the water is rising and you're jumping up those moving blocks? Cus that part was difficult enough, but besides that itty bitty part there was little challenge in the water. The second level has more dangerous water parts.
