Lucid has Wipeout lead designer? Oh shit, son. Clash of The Titans.
Yup, pretty funny role reversal though :lolLead PGR making a PS4 title and lead Wipeout making 720 title. Everyone wins?
so which of these will have the most swag

That would be pretty cool.Even though the Evolution racer won't have the GT name, Sony can still help that game out in terms of sales by including GT6 demo (kind of like GT HD Concept) with it. That'd actually probably do a lot more for it than having the GT name tagged on it.

He wasn't talking about WipEout :]
... And 2048 is a great WipEout game.
1. WipEout HD/Fury
2. WipEout 2048
3. WipEout Pulse
That's my "podium" anyways.
I'm not sure how it worked back then, but all this reeks REALLY strongly of what MS did with Crackdown 2 and Ruffian. MS wants Crackdown sequel, Ruffian was formed from ex-Realtime Worlds staffers and... something something Crackdown 2.So do we know how Lucid Games got the money to form the studio, just wondering if Microsoft kicked in some dough for them ...

I just hope that if a new PGR is on the cards and Lucid is heavily involved... it doesn't turn out to be the series equivalent on Crackdown 2.

Good point there, but I think having the GT name tagged onto it would do wonders for sales, since it's already an established brand name.
Crackdown 2 was extremely rushed. Only 1 year in development if I'm not mistaking.
Yeah it really makes no sense. It would be so smart for them to expand the brand but PD works In a bubble in this industry.
They did already post about "What would you like to see in Burnout Paradise 2", and the thread generated numerous pages of "fuck off with open world"...So, to all of NeoGAF's racing-game gurus...could you lend your thoughts in a little prediction time please?
I'd like to get your predictions on when you think we'll see a new Burnout game for Durango/Orbis, and what you think about the future of that franchise...
Personally, playing Burnout on PS3/360 online with a ton of friends was some of the most fun I had in a racing experience this gen, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what's coming next.
I don't get why PD has final say. Sony owns PD, Evolution, and the IP, right?

They're in an interesting predicament, and they're still on a bi-annual release schedule. It'll be interesting to see who's delivering a NFS this year.
Lunatics running the asylumBecause Sony gives them say over it. That's why you didn't see Team ICO stuff in PS All Stars. They aren't the only company that does that. The Monster Hunter team wouldn't allow any MH characters to appear in MvC3.

Why would they do that when they can sell the GT6 Demo as a concept/prologue and make millions?

@SzczurekPB We currently have around 120 people working at Evolution Studios.
Wait so it's going to be:
Orbis: PGR
Durango: Forza/PGR
Am I close?
Evolution Studios clearly expanded their studio size.

Yet they still are hiring.
How about a true Motocross Madness 3 Microsoft? That would make me buy Xbox 720 day 1.
I cant believe people want PD to just attach their name to anything for some sales.

Being good as nothing to do with it,its not PD game.If the game is good, where's the problem?
Forza Horizon is one of the best racers I've ever played.
And it got visibility from borrowing the brand name (and car models and licenses).
PD could do the same.
It's kind of like Metal Gear Rising. It's a full-on action title from Platinum with a MGS skin.

An I am sure it wont be a sim,its just plain silly to use the name.
Was this posted? The Tourist Trophy designer was at Sony Liverpool so maybe moved to Evolution?

Tourist Trophy has long been a dream of Nana-san's, who first presented the original design document to Polyphony Digital studio head (and father of the Gran Turismo series) Kazunori Yamauchi several years ago. Yamauchi was immediately in favor of the game, but when the window of development time came, Nana-san was informed he would have a mere 10 months to bring the game from concept to actuality--an incredibly short cycle by Polyphony Digital standards. That short cycle meant that Nana-san would need to focus his efforts to make sure Tourist Trophy met the tight schedule.

No, I'm sorry, it doesn't make sense.
Having a separate series featuring the same brand is a good thing, if the game is good and handled properly. Of course they wouldn't call it "GT: the real driving simulator arcade". They need to come up with something unique that helps differtiate the new IP while still using the same brand name.
So you're dismissing games like Horizon and Rising just because they're not from Turn 10 or Kojipro?
Even though they supervised or at least helped during development?
It's crazy.
Dear fuck, for racing games?
