I don't think you are doing Sony a service by dismissing Quest 2 as a competitor . I mean do we really think that Sony doesn't care about reaching bigger number of customers?

Same here, and the Next Horizon exclusive for PS5 will crush my jaw. DAY ZERO.Holy moly! So excited to buy one!
The Next Horizon will be something special. Holy crap I'm excited
Hopefully Sony is going to do a big event to fully show PSVR2, its games, release date and price soon. This is my most anticipated piece of technology foe a while and it is also going to be the first VR I buy (tried others, loved the experience).Same here, and the Next Horizon exclusive for PS5 will crush my jaw. DAY ZERO.
How would they justify that when the Quest 3 and even the next Index will be out by the time the PSVR2 will be and the Quest starts at $300?I heard there's a more expensive wireless version in the making.
Type c by itself doesn’t have the necessary bandwidth to deliver high resolution plus high refresh rate without compressing to h.264 or hevc video. It’s most definitely not easy.
He was questioning eye tracked foveated rendering. There is a difference between foveated rendering like said in that video and using eye tracking to place where the high resolution rendering should be used. None eye tracked foveated rendering has been used for ages already.poeple like you are so weird to me after all GE patents back way ago i already knew PSVR2 has foveated rendering it literally explains how it works but you still don't believe here you go:
They don't have to justify it though. They can just do it if they think they can get away with it. Current Sony management has pushed price increases in a few ways their competitors haven't. Their marketing is pushing the "premium" experience. How would they justify that when the Quest 3 and even the next Index will be out by the time the PSVR2 will be and the Quest starts at $300?
You guys keep mentioning the lack of studios but never mention how most studios are working on multiple games and are divided by multiple teams.Sony is being stupid one more time. With only 17 studios. All of them should be focused on games for traditional audience. There is a small audience for VR and they need more exclusives per year. Ms have 23 studios making games from traditional audience.
Now moving to create cars. They didn't learn anything what bankrupt them with distraction divisions in the past.
They don't vr to compete they need more studios.
Justify what? How would they justify that when the Quest 3 and even the next Index will be out by the time the PSVR2 will be and the Quest starts at $300?
Yeap I'm not even sure why people are trying to make them competitiors. They don't have to justify it though. They can just do it if they think they can get away with it. I did post something similar about people getting too focused on the connector and not the bandwidth but you summed it up better than me.Your point is valid but one correction. Type C is a type of connector. Alone it means nothing bandwidth wise. Depending on the hardware it's plugged into, and the quality of cable connected to it, that cable could do 40 Gbps with USB4 or Thunderbolt 3.
The PS5 USB-C implementation is limited to 10 Gbps. Given the HDMI output is using around 32Gbps for a 4K 120Hz signal, the data on the USB-C cable is likely to be some form of compressed video to the PSVR2.
Not being wired it isn't.Delicious specs and the next evolution for VR.
It is still going to be an advancement in a few areas. HDR, OLED, haptics on controller and headset (this part is intriguing), PC level graphics. Not being wired it isn't.
And I believe it doesn't come with any built in speakers. Have to use your own headphones, unless I'm mistaken.
In terms of evolution wired allow way more than wireless...Not being wired it isn't.
They're competing for the consumer, who will likely choose one or the other. Seems obvious that people will compare the headset options out there.Yeap I'm not even sure why people are trying to make them competitiors.
Can PSRV2 be used on PC? Probably not.
Can Quest be used on PS5? Not.
In terms of evolution wired allow way more than wireless...
There is no competition. They're competing for the consumer, who will likely choose one or the other. Seems obvious that people will compare the headset options out there.
PSVR includes wired headphones in the box. No speakers. And I believe it doesn't come with any built in speakers. Have to use your own headphones, unless I'm mistaken.
What about a built in mic?
No idea. I would assume it's gotta be in there, or on the controllers since even the dual shock has that now. But I have no idea. Maybe they intend for people to use this with the pulse headset.

If it is like PSVR it come with a wired headphone included... you can use others if you wish.No idea. I would assume it's gotta be in there, or on the controllers since even the dual shock has that now. But I have no idea. Maybe they intend for people to use this with the pulse headset.
No one is claiming it works in both. I'm claiming that a consumer will choose to invest in one or the other. Very few people will get multiple headsets. They'll compare the offerings and pick one ecosystem to start investing in.There is no competition.
You want VR on PS5 you need to buy PSVR2.
You want VR on PC you need to buy something else.
I mean there is no choice at all... there is no option that works in both.
Yes.... they will buy the one they already have the platform invested. No one is claiming it works in both. I'm claiming that a consumer will choose to invest in one or the other. Very few people will get multiple headsets. They'll compare the offerings and pick one ecosystem to start investing in.
I didn't. Not sure why you're arguing over such a uncontroversial point. Literally all I said is that people will likely pick one VR headset.Yes.... they will buy the one they already have the platform invested.
Maybe because I trend to forget we are in a hardcore forum where people have or pretend to own all platform (I don't... I only have PS5) but that is not the actual general marketing.I didn't. Not sure why you're arguing over such a uncontroversial point. Literally all I said is that people will likely pick one VR headset.
in same video Ryan says it has eye tracking and later says it has foveated rendering what's the purpose for eye tracking without foveated rendering? seems weird implementing such feature without rendering capabilities even name 'foveated' suggest it's eye retina tracking also rumours long ago suggested this is the case suggesting games in vr could look as good as on flat screen or even better. He was questioning eye tracked foveated rendering. There is a difference between foveated rendering like said in that video and using eye tracking to place where the high resolution rendering should be used. None eye tracked foveated rendering has been used for ages already.
The problem is fresnel lenses if your not looking dead centre distort and blur the image but even if you ignore that and proceed eye tracking fast enough to keep up with your eyes at 120hz is massive. If Sony are doing this for sub 400 dollars with the rest of those specs it's more than impressive, it's revolutionary. He wasn't saying it's not true, he just wanted confirmation it had actually been announced and I don't think it has.
I had no idea. Very sneaky. Looking back at earlier main consoles the launch models were better though, with PS3 having hw BC and later models having that stripped away. No doubt I would be beyond pissed if I got shafted as an early adopter, especially these days then being late might mean you can’t even buy it. People will jump on this thing as soon as preorders are open to dodge scalpers.PSVR CUH-ZVR1 vs CUH-ZVR2 - What's the Difference?
How do you know which version of PlayStation VR you're buying?www.pushsquare.com
There prior release strategy, where they saw what issues consumers had and released an improved version with those resolved.
I mean I was a launch Switch owner, Nintendo started putting in a new processor after awhile which pretty much doubled the battery life while undocked. I believe a few people would feel screwed over, but I never did. Depends I guess.
the big questions need towhat about porn
Well they said they're pushing "social experiences." I know most gamers will scoff at that, but I think that's actually important.the big questions need to

That's where you'll get all that other additional functionality that is very handy like:
If it doesn't have a web browser option, that would be catastrophic. It's worth it!
- Mirroring your desktop
- Virtual workspace
- Virtual theaters / movies
- Web browsing
- Loading files from PC
That would be sick. I watched a movie last night on an IMAX sized screen in my bedroom. It worked pretty dang well.Play Starfield on a virtual big screen via PSVR2 ??? hmm
These others you listed max FOV is not 117 or 120... most have FOV below PSRV2? PSVR2 seems to be on the higher tier.110 degree FOV does not equal immersion. sorry guys! hate to break it to everyone. not sure what the FOV is that is best (maybe 180 or more?), but 110 ain't it. i've owned the rift, rift s, quest, htc vive, and oculus go.

180 you're also a horse?110 degree FOV does not equal immersion. sorry guys! hate to break it to everyone. not sure what the FOV is that is best (maybe 180 or more?), but 110 ain't it. i've owned the rift, rift s, quest, htc vive, and oculus go.
PS4 doesn't have USB Type C.
Source?No.
PS5 only.
agree. all the big feature games they talk about with these things are just grease smeared graphics that are blurry. become even more noticeable in the headset. any of the true, crisp 4k games are basically like PS2 games. hopefully someone comes up with that tech that can render ps5 type graphics in the headset clearly. foveated rendering is a big step! (am i the only one that noticed that horizon game footage looked blurry af?!)I can’t imagine many games will be running at native 4K 90 or 120 hz without looking a little potato but the snippet of Horizon looks like a decent step up over PSVR.
the ones i mentioned are all around 110 degrees. hence why i mentioned them. it's very claustrophobic. These others you listed max FOV is not 117 or 120... most have FOV below PSRV2? PSVR2 seems to be on the higher tier.
There’s so much effort to dismiss Oculus’ output of games, i feel like you guys have no fucking clue about their output in the past years.
