Crash needs a total reboot. Theres an opportunity to reset the history, and go back to his creation story and the original conflict with Cortex. In that context, you could reprise classic Crash 1 and 2s settings and villains. It would make sense to use a more modern, free-roaming style. I would concentrate on Looney Tunes-esque animation and really addictive action. Thats what we did with the original Crash, and theres no reason it couldnt be done today. Given [Activision's] Crash games, people forget that he was once cool. [Naughty Dog's] Crash had a certain whimsical edge to him. Sure, it was goofy but it wasnt dumb.
Activision owns Crash Bandicoot and we continue to explore ways in which we could bring the beloved series back to life.
Crash needs a hug.
You forgot this.
I hate to be the cynic here but I'm stunned people think that Naughty Dog or anybody that big would put in the effort on a big AAA platformer. Let's get real, 2013 had some absolutely fantastic platformers come out. With the possible exception of 3d Mario (it will have legs) not one of them saw commercial success. Rayman Legends, Puppeteer and Tearaway are all critical successes, fantastic games and commercial flops. If there were any plans for a AAA Crash/Jax/Banjo revival they've been put on ice super quickly. They just wont sell and make absolutely zero sense for a studio like Naughty Dog to make. Why make a game that might sell 1m at most when you could make Uncharted/TLOU/new IP that would sell 5m+? The audience just isn't there on consoles anymore - most of those gamers are on mobile platforms which is why platformers do well on the ipad and the 3ds. Even console Mario seems to have lost a little steam. The best fans of these series can hope for is a downloadable PSN/XBLA game.

Why did you crop out 1980s haircut guy.You forgot this.
Please tell me they are outsourcing this and not wasting manpower that should be working on The Last of Us 2.
I like that you casually forget to mention that Boyes stated Activision still owns the rights recently
Fucking hell he just read my mind perfectly.
Why did you crop out 1980s haircut guy.
Nice.
I really don't want naughty dog wasting time on another crash game.
There he is:

The hell is this?Agreed
I tried playing Crash 3 for the first time this past weekend. Nope. Nothing about it was good at all.
Sony seriously just needs to come out and put this dog to sleep. Tell the fans it's not happening before the hype/delusion grows to dangerous levels.

Stop! I'm giving myself not to believe, don't push me over the edge.I think ND knows that ... Which makes this even more compelling
It's happening (as they say)
Don't worry. Then we'll start bugging Gavin and Ruben to team up again for a Kickstarter.This. I just want someone from Sony to say "We aren't going to make a Crash game, ever again." so this shit can lay to rest. Sony constantly trolling us with the possibility of a new SCE Crash is starting to become aggravating.

Though I haven't played it myself people where saying R&C:Into the Nexus was pretty good. It's a decent realistic option imo.Insomniac? Ewww.

they already have, pretty much. when adam was asked on twitter he said to go ask Activision. but ppl like to dream
I never realized how creepy Crash's grin was. He looks like a pedophile with that beard.
ROLF.
No, Harris.
The old Crash Team Racing game has barely aged and is still great to this day. Just give us a new one of those with more features and content.
Please tell me they are outsourcing this and not wasting manpower that should be working on The Last of Us 2.
All the people getting excited. Should the game even get made, it would sell like shit. Do not waste time on this horribly dated character.
Would a sequel really work to that game? Can't they leave it as a one off?
