That doesn't have to happen. They got QLOC to fix MKX, I don't see why they wouldn't go with them from the start this time.
Yup i can see them going that route again.

Speaking of fighters, tekken 7 and gg xrd rev 2 releasing soon on steam; my body is ready

seeing both are platinum games, i can believe Nier still hasnt been patched because of SE.

• Fixed an issue with excessive Steam client CPU usage
• Fixed the MSAA option
• Fixed the “picture-in-picture” graphical issue in the ‘film strip’ cutscenes at certain resolutions
• Adjusted Steam Cloud implementation
• Fixed an issue with the jump control in some situations when using keyboard and mouse
• Added the ability to disable black borders in aspect ratios other than 16:9
Nice. I think those were all the issues.

So, despite setting Hitman to half the framerate it runs at 25-60FPS when I start it. The performance in Playersunknown Battlegrounds is abysmal, too.

Be honest with me, SteamGAF: How fucked am I? I can't really afford new computer parts or a completely new one for a long time.

Those two in particular are VERY demanding games. And PUBG has yet to be optimized further, it runs pretty badly for most people. It's pretty playable for me lowering stuff, but I do have a not too old computer.

Most other games should run better.

Have you tried playing at a lower resolution? I know, parish the thought.

Really enjoying the marine campaign on avp 2010. The atmosphere is perfect for a alien game. I didnt like isolation cos i actually wanted to kill some aliens with great atmosphere

Battlegrounds I can understand since it's Early Access though my friends are having no performance issues. And I don't want to create an account on their forum to report my problem. :/

The problem with Hitman is that it should run at 30 max but it doesn't want to.

Eww.

Something weird is going on with Steam? My friend is getting "No Download Source" error when he is trying to install any game from Steam. I tried to google and found a lot recent threads with same issue, all started today - like here, here, here, or here. All is fine on my end, but it's worrying to see that so much people have same issue at almost same time.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.

I think even people who have really great systems play PUBG on mostly low settings right now.

What are your settings, anyway? Trying to play it at maximum quality just doesn't work that well with that game, but lowering some stuff could still allow you to maintain 60FPS at almost all times at better quality than consoles offer for the game. Depending on your computer, that is. But I know what you mean, for some reason the game gets stubborn when it comes to v-sync and limiting framerate.

Don't know by heart but a mix between medium and some things high. Did get consistent 30FPS for quite sometime until it started ignoring the framerate limiting. My system is 8GB RAM, a 970 and an i5-2500 @3.30GHz.

Konamis at it again with senseless regionlocking.

Wanna play PES 2018?

Cant if you live in India, Japan, Malaysia or Japan.

I love that the package is set up to be purchasable in dozens of countries instead of just non-purchasable in a few.

Fear not my friend as someone who played on 5 years old potato non gaming laptop I have "tips".

1. Close everything that isn't the game, check with the task manager and stop useless process
2. Make sure you have enough storage on your hard drive.
3. Make sure your power settings are on high performance
4. Make sure your drivers are updated and you are using your Gpu and not igpu
5. In game turn everything to the lowest setting possible and disable any power hungry effect.
6. Reduce your resolution until you get your 30fps

What does that mean? Is it different than normal?

It's like when my boss clicks around a column filter in Excel, hits uncheck all then checks back in 18 out of 20 products rather than just unchecking the two she doesn't want while I mentally reenact that one cartoon about people who can't use computers.

You should use MSI Afterburner and enable bunch of that overlay info to see what's happening.
You might be hitting a ceiling with that 8gb of system ram. I find it's the easiest thing to overlook when trying to figure out modern game performance, and Hitman can definitely be ram hungry at least.

I finished Saints Row 3, overall I enjoyed it. The game was fun and I was in a mood for something silly though some of the activities are just annoying, like the escort one. I remember reading about how bad the SR2 port is but from a little research there are mods to fix the mess, anyone here played it modded recently? How was the performance?

Even modded it's still shitty. Gentlemen of the Row only takes that port so far unfortunately.

I know you asked about playing it modded but I played through all of SR2 unmodded and I didn't have any problems but this was on windows 7 about a year ago so your miles may vary. I can only speculate that with mods fixing problems with it, it would be even better (I love all the SR games)

So I'm working on upgrading some of my weapons. Well, at least I was. Some of the components can only be found in a certain area of the game.

The area is only available by doing a sidequest.

The sidequest is missable, so I no longer have access to it.

...why would you design a game this way? Square Enix pls.

I'm unsure of its performance on W10. From what I remember, the Gentleman of the Row mod fixes a lot of its problems. The game still stutters a bit for me when driving. All in all, I'd say it's still worth playing because it's the best SR imo.

I don't remember this being an issue? You can find better item and upgrade those instead.. The PC version is much easier than the Xbox 360 version too. In the original you could only use the story characters/general as group leaders and had to fill teams with trash from the guild with slow skill learning rate and poor stats. You could also save yourself in a corner or have to restart long boring battles when you died too. PC version warns you about area you cannot go out and lets you save between successive bosses later on.

Thanks for the answers! I'll check it later.

Meh, Elliot Quest needs a framerate lock to 60 fps for us folks with high framerate monitors. The game's logic is tied to the framerate, so 120 fps plays twice as fast as it should do... :(

Use RTSS or force half-refresh rate vsync via the AMD/Nvidia control panel (assuming 120fps = 120Hz).

Dammit. I just completed my normal run through Bayonetta and it gets this update? Would have been awesome to see the insanity of those final couple bosses with proper good graphical settings. I was using some nvidia inspector tweaks and downsampling from 4K, but I bet if I enable MSAA my 970 won't be able to take it anymore. Oh well on to hard and unlocking those dumb yet awesome rocket launchers.

I absolutely love his games. Even though Squarecells was a little on the short side compared to Hexcells Infinite, it was still well worth it based on how clever the puzzles were.
