I feel like a failure with my newcomer predictions. I played it too safe with some and too wild with others (a whole new Pokemon Trainer...ouch). Of the 14 I added, only 4 made the cut.

Shows how much potential they have for Switch. Onto the next one boys and girls.

And yes, thank you for the contest. I hope we see it again...soon?

Yes, I'm planning to do Smash for Switch Prediction Contest like two weeks before Switch Presentation.

This time, people only need to predict upcoming newcomers and returning veterans so full roster list isn't needed since it's more likely that we wouldn't see any cut. Also it would make it easier for me to tally the points as well.

Also it's going to be interesting to see what people are going to predict, and see if they are going let few rumors influencing their guesswork for the roster.

I would have everyone to know this, new prediction contest is going to be for Smash for Switch Base Roster and potentially dlc characters. It's going to be harder to predict how many characters and which characters.

The reason why it's going to be harder because it's our first time that we are going to experience this situation where we are more likely to get Smash 4.5, which is pretty much first time in Smash history, and we have no guarantee that we would get DLC characters or not so it would encourage the posters to make a wise choice with their prediction. You have to consider all the possibilities with Sakurai and the situations.

You know, this thread is interesting as far as expectations go. Especially the "least predicted veterans". People were really pining for Lucario and Ike to be flavor of the month huh lol

Looking back at it, I wonder which of the DLC characters got picked the most. Did anyone have Cloud? Or Bayonetta for that matter. I'd imagine no one had Corrin since that game wasn't even announced back when this contest started.

Actually, can you do a breakdown of least guessed characters?

I got closer than I thought I would at least! I think I had insane shit like Geno and Ganondorf being Demise by default in my submission, but I also had stuff people kept insisting wouldn't happen like Bayonetta and Shulk.

If I recall, I half-way made a point of focusing on what I wanted more than what I expected - though I can't deny that the game fooled me to some extent in what they ultimately went with, haha.

I am honestly surprised that I did as well as I did. 8 points isn't bad. I was certainly right about a few things, such as Sheik being split off from Zelda, but I was way wrong on others.
