Pokemon is covered with Pikachu/Trainer/Mewtwo. That's all the most iconic elements of the franchise right there.

They can cut flavor-of-the-generation Lucario for all I care.

Oh and I guess Jigglypuff is the joke rep.

Huh, I never really thought about Sylveon before, but she does have a lot going for her:

- Four-legged fighter who can manipulate objects with her, uh, flesh-ribbons. Kind of like Ivysaur with his vines!

- A Pokemon that received top billing for Gen 6. Also represents the new Fairy-type. Could have lots of cool moonlight-based moves.

- SOOOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUTTTE!

Of course she's getting it. It's so blatantly obvious. She's the face of Gen 6. Her and Mewtwo Y.

I'd love if the rep was Eevee and you could somehow choose which evolution to evolve into. A ton of gen reps in one. I don't know how you'd choose or when though. Maybe when you get to a certain percentage or time spent on a stock.

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
When was it said that Nintendo owns TW101? Also if Sakurai is worried about showing skin for Bayo they could just make it so that when she uses her attacks her clothes don't disappear, it's as simple as that. Also as far as guns go they could either make them laser guns or just not have her use them, I feel like she has enough potential for a move set without the guns.
nintendo 100% owns W101 brah o_O

What if they were all one Pokémon with alternate forms like Wii Fit Trainer has. They look differently from each other and have different particle effects, while still being the same character.
Way too much work for one character though. =/

Maybe it'd depend on whom your opponent is, or the stage.

The Wonderful 101 is owned by Nintendo. The copyright for the IP is co-listed by Platinum and Nintendo, but if their relationship dissolves, I'm pretty sure Nintendo gets all the rights to the characters and the concept.

Evee would work like Mega Man, but I think for the more simplistic engine, it wouldn't work too well. Maybe highlight a few forms, and not all it could be/do.

So I don't know much about game design or cgi, but how are the new comer trailers going to work on the 3DS? Would they re-do them in the 3DS' versions' style? Put some type of filter on it? Still show it the same as the trailers? Or do you think the 3DS version will be lacking those cutscenes?

Probably show the same trailers uncompressed.

See MH3U for references.

Okay GAF, you are now Sakurai. You just realized that due to systemwide virus
or whatever
you must recreate the entire Smash Bros. game. You can only fit five stages and ten characters (Transformations like Shiek only count as one, and you're only allowed a max of three transformations per character) into the game before you must release it.

Create!

OK I'll play along.

Characters
Link or Toon Link
Ness (Lucas alt. costume)
Mario (Luigi alt. costume)
Captain Falcon
Fox
Donkey Kong
Samus
Kirby
Pokemon Trainer
Olimar

Wasn't honestly that hard, just started with 64 and cut a few, and then added the most important and different (in terms of playstyle) characters. It looks a LOT better if you bump it up to even 14 though, adding:

Marth
Mr Game & Watch
Pit
Villager

Beyond that, start adding in villains and secondary series reps
and Wonder Red

Stages
Onett
Zebes
Delfino
Great Fox
Termina

The Mario Kart OT titles makes even more sense now. lol. And I guess she will be one of the tallest characters. A goddess indeed.

hmm..

Marth- traditional sword user
Lyn - katana user
Little Mac - close range specialist
Mario - shoto clone
Pikachu - small, slightly cheap character
Captain Falcon - high energy fighter
C. Syrup - item gimmick character
Link - all-around fighter
Impa - short to mid range fighter
Palutena - long to mid-range staff user with magic

For some reason I was thinking along the lines of Soul Calibur or some other fighters for this lol. I need sleep.

Stages:
Coneria
Punch-Out Boxing stage
Pokemon Safari
Inside Hyrule Castle Master Sword Room (WW)
The Sweet Stuff (Wario Land Shake It)

The first thing I want to do on Smash 4 is hit online, get my ass kicked, then practice all the newcomers :p

nah what you do is you get a single friend and you experiment with it on launch day for a load of hours and maybe you can do PASS THE CONTROLLER adventure mode

or you could play it on the train

If rosa is indeed that tall or put bluntly, Ganondorf tall, I suppose that'll help balance her out a smudge.

oh and the first thing to do for first time smash is always play with mario first lol.

It's tradition for me to hit up the online, give it a quick spin, then learn mechanics.

So far, who is everyone's most anticipated Newcomer?

Mine is Villager due to New Leaf obsession.

Incredibly hard to say this time around as their moveset just seems to be stellar.

WFT might be my least anticipated cause her moveset seems to be the most "regular", animations aside.

Between megaman, villager and Rosalina I think Megaman is the least interesting cause I sorta get how he works.

Villager's got some insane moves that I wanna try out, but Rosalina sorta went overboard with an even more absurd looking combat style.

I think it'd be:

4. WFT
3. Megaman
2. Villager
1. Rosalina

for me.
