The Mystery of Yakuza: Like a Dragon's Brief 'Next-gen Exclusivity' on Xbox Finally Solved - T'was Sega's Own Doing

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
TL;DR

- They signed exclusivity in Japan w/ Sony
- They signed platform parity w/ Xbox
- Because of the parity, they couldn't release the game early in Japan on PS5
- Nothing stopped them from releasing at the same time in the US but they likely didn't have it fully worked (or didn't want to release without Japan).

The game was out in January 2020 in japan, as a Sony exclusive. It then got a international release in november, with Xbox getting the next gen exclusive. Xbox got to put the game on Japan first in next gen too, as Sony got it only a week or two for PS5 after the Xbox version. I think that as all PS4 games can work on PS5 they only lost the next gen ameliorations. Still, this and making MLB the show available on Xbox consoles are some of the good moves that Xbox did this gen. Curious to know if more stuff like this happened this gen.
