Lake of Fire
Nirvana > Meat Puppets
I heard an interesting Metallica cover on a Gears of War 4 commercial the other day, but I can't remember which song. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
I love St. Vincent's cover of Nico's These Days
Nirvana's version of The Man Who Sold the World is just as good as Bowie's if you ask me
I think a lot of people prefer Cash's for two reasons: 1) He was an aging man who lived a life of regret, and it sounded more like he was describing himself and 2) It was the first version they heard
Judas Priest - The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown)
Way better than the original Fleetwood Mac version.
One of the most literal examples of this is Blinded By The Light. The famous version is a cover of Bruce Springsteen.
Bruce Springsteen never had a #1, but the Manfred Mann cover hit #1.

Nothing Else Matters. Unless a new one cane out Im not aware of.
Wow. This is really really bad. Not just one kind of bad but different layers of bad like your wife writing a dear John letter and crumbling it up with a medical report from your doctor on top saying you have testicular cancer and a turd on the inside so you have to unravel the wadded up shit bomb to fully appreciate how bad it is.
Do we know who sings the cover?
WordHendrix's All Along The Watchtower > Bob Dylan's original.
Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah is much better than Leonard Cohen's original
No. No no no no no no no.
No.
Judas Priest - The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown)
Way better than the original Fleetwood Mac version.
Hendrix's All Along The Watchtower > Bob Dylan's original.
I actually like the Professor Shyguy version of Black Sheep more than the other two, only because of the voice of the woman who sings the chorus. Gave me chills the first time I heard it. I don't care much for the chiptunes instrumentation, though.
I really like that. Different enough to be interesting and still clearly in their own style.
Rage Against The Machine version of Maggie's Farm.
So was there ever a time when the cover of a song was more popular and well known than the actual original song?
Also The Airborne Toxic Event's cover of Book of Love by The Magnetic Fields is amazing. You should all check it out.
