How long is the first game again?
More control. At the start you have a set party, but by about a fifth of the way through the game you have more than four characters and can start picking which ones you want to use, while the others sit around upstairs in the nearest guild branch so you can switch. It's still a little fiddly (depending on what's going on in the story usually two, or even three, characters will be mandatory), but it's more flexible than FC, at least. Thanks
Aso is the game like FC where the party is generally predetermined until very late or do you have more control over who you can bring though the whole game?
My clock's at 55 on a first playthrough, and I'm not quite done yet.30-40 hours.

I hear it gets ridiculous doing this in the Crossbell games. As it is, it took me about 100 hours to beat the game while doing this...though I should add that I'm a much slower player of Jrpgs than most people seem to be. It likely takes far less for other people to do it.How long FC lasts depends on whether you go around talking to all the NPCs after every main story event (the only true way to play Trails) or not.
I've kept most of the soundtrack a secret from myself until I hear it ingame but I have heard Fight with Assailant before and it's so rad.Guess I'll buy the rest of the OST to celebrate too!. I got only one song initially because its pretty catchy:
Fight with Assailant
In North America, yes. For most of the rest of the world you can't access the store via a PSP anymore, you have to use Media Go.

A Sony representative told IGN that PSP users in these regions will still be able to purchase content for the handheld device through the Sony Entertainment Network Online Store, and past purchases can still be re-downloaded from the download list on the systems.
If you're having movie problems, run in windowed mode but at your desktop resolution. It'll run in borderless windowed, so it'll be just about as nice as fullscreen, and with a game this old, the performance hit is negligible at best.
Oh nice, I didn't even consider that it would do borderless without third-party software.
I just tested it and it fixed the problem. Thanks!
edit: I'm getting some judder when walking around though. I have a 144hz G-Sync monitor so you'd think it could handle anything but I can't find a setting that gets rid of it.
When does FC save for the last time? Is it after the credits? And can you see the final save in the loading screen or is it hidden somewhere? There's nothing marked as "final save" or similar displayed in my load menu and I'm not sure if that's normal or if Steam ate the file. Just want to know if I have to play through the final stretch of FC again.
Weird. Maybe mess with the vsync setting and stuff?

"Us guys" nothin'! That's all Sara. Sara's a miracle-worker. Some say she can process information quicker than Data from ST:TNG, and that when she sets about programming, the language actually codes her.All we know is, she's called The Stig! ...Wait, wrong show.
...Don't mind me. I'm in a weird mood today. I think we've all gone a little loopy, on account of this announcement finally coming to pass. It's been such a long time coming, we don't know what to do with ourselves right now.

Congrats on finally getting this out the door after so long. Only 5 more days until people start bugging you to localize Third Chapter!

No chance whatsoever on an extremely limited physical run right? If not I'll be buying the digital version still of course and buying a physical JP copy.
Unlike Vic's stuff, PSP Trails SC is a two-UMD game when distributed in its physical edition. The manufacturing costs alone are absolutely prohibitive, especially today. Manufacture of the PSP edition ended even in Japan years ago, IIRC; that's one of the reasons Japan is getting the "Evolution" editions of the Sky games, native for the Vita.
Exactly what I was thinking!Start on Third Chapter

Well from what other people say, SC will take longer just on virtue of being a longer game. Good thing Estelle is a people person.I took around 82 hours just listening to all the NPC lines in the middle of my playthrough, lol. SC might not be as tough for me now that I know the game loop in general, but that should take just as long if not a little bit longer.
So...what's improved in part 2? I started playing part 1, but it's kind of slow going.
It's gonna be PS TV compatible I assume?
FC on my Vita TV is a hideous mess when compared to FC on my PC connected to the same TV. I implore you not to do that to yourself.
It's a slow burn, but the payoff is worth it (and makes the slow introductory scenes a lot more tolerable, since they're all basically setting the stage for chapter 4 and Trails SC).
Isn't the PC version of SC also using the PS3 quality sprites which were an improvement over the PSP ones anyways?
SC has earlier and more frequent bouts of excitement, but it comes in waves. Just as quickly as a big cool event happens, you're back to the usual low-key routine.I've been wondering about that. When I first played FC, I went in completely blind and it kinda backfired. The pacing really threw me off, I kept waiting for something to happen, for the story to get good, and it felt like it took way too long to get there.
I replayed the game on Steam over the summer (to get a clear save ready for SC) and knowing ahead of time what to expect in regards to the pacing made the entire game much more enjoyable. So, is SC faster to get going? Or should I brace myself for another slow start?
