Well, Eddie's also doing a guest appearance in the new season. Maybe he'll be on stage playing it during an episode, kind of like Julee Cruise. I'm sure Lynch would have rather had a new tune than an established Pearl Jam song.

I hope there will be a lot of hot girls, teen angst, shoegazing, nice locales and food, corporate intrigues, geeky main character, brothels cum casinos, etc
And not too much masturbatory Lynch stuff
I am ok with some though

I just finished the book and one of the best things about it how it makes some of the random characters in season 2 have a bit moreimportance Those episodes won't be as bad once you retrofit some of the new background into the onto them.
Mainly thinking of the mayor and brother and lana
.

I just finished binge-watching the series, about to start Fire Walk with Me. All I knew going into it was "murder mystery, surreal Americana", but I was Not Prepared. At all. By the mid-season 2 slump I was already in too deep to quit - the final 5 episodes make me so glad I didn't. 10/10, bring on season 3!

(I'm in love with Dale Cooper.)

Made a deal with a friend of mine that we'll watch the entire series next months in two days along with the film so that we'll be ready for the new season. She's never seen the series, so I can't wait! Also, if anyone would like the new art on their phone:

Canadian here, what's the best way to binge watch the original two seasons? Should I also watch Fire Walk With Me?

CraveTV has it, and The Movie Network/HBO Go randomly popped them on their side for the rest of the month. All you need to do is sign into your cable provider on their site and you'd be good to go, if you go that route.

So why Eddie Veder? I like the song. Just not sure it fits in Twin Peaks.

Did you listen to the second half of the stream? It's the studio version of the song, and it's been put through the 'Lynch filter'. Will be interesting to see where it fits into the show.

the BEST way is the BluRay collection
absolutely watch FWWM, but only after finishing season 2

y thank u! Here's another one for either of you - will Canadians get to watch Twin Peaks along with our American brothers & sisters, day & date?

You bet, The Movie Network covers all of Showtime's stuff day and date, and CraveTV tweeted it will have it at the same time.

Any idea what the
button on his jacket
means?

My first thought was that he has a strange badge on his jacket in the scene where he's (not brilliantly) made up to look old on the lodge in the original series, so it's likely that. However I looked it up and they don't look alike.

So 'dunno Blanky' is the short answer.

Here's another commissioned track by The Veils, recorded in Lynch's studio. There's a quote from the singer about the surrealness of being there on set with the original cast so expect this one to be a Roadhouse type piece for the characters to drink in. Certainly sounds more Peaks inspired in tone than the Vedder one.

i recall the moment i fell in love with this show.

it was during the pilot, right after the police arrive outside the hotel to tell Leland his daughter is dead. his wife has called him on the phone and he pauses to receive the officer and the bad news. he is speechless and his wife, still on the phone, begins to get hysterical. he drops the phone and the camera just drifts down and does the slowest pan ever across the phone and the phone chord.

it's an incredible moment with a very strange composition that nonetheless makes all kind of emotional and thematic statements through sheer camera movement and non-performance of inanimate objects. it's fucking brilliant.

I'm in the think of it re-watching season 2 right now. Some of the storylines are more painful than I remember.

I think the civil war stuff with Ben and James' adventure as a mechanic for hire was rock bottom for me.

I feel like James should have been killed off in S1 because they had nothing for him to do after Laura's murder was resolved.

Yup.

The Nadine stuff and MT Wentz is definitely hit or miss.

edit: Terrible news about Miguel RIP

The good news is that the civil war, Nadine, and James stuff was all post Lynch (at least mostly). So I don't think we need to worry about that in TP2017.

No uk streaming of the originals. I'm so used to the convenience of streaming now that I'm actually considering buying both seasons from Amazon instant video, rather than just buy the DVD box sets for half the price and rip them myself.

Among the bottom tier stories, Super Nadine is probably my favorite because it could get pretty hilarious. James stuff is boring while the Civil War plot is just terrible. I don't think any of it should be skipped while watching it the first time though, for better or for worse.

I need to do a rewatch of the show sometime, but I'd like to get friends on board with it. The fact the original series isn't available on Netflix Br sucks big time.

I get that it's a really old show, but releasing spoilers in funko pop form is kiiiinda shitty. Especially since Twin Peaks is one of very few "cult" works whose twist managed to avoid being turned into a meme.
It's usually something I don't have a problem with, but I have to agree in this case. Especially because the buzz about the return of the show will get many people who have never watched it interested.

Now this is Twin Peaks!

Edit: I don't buy POP figures, but if I did I would own all of those.

I kind of agree with this. I noticed halfway through the second season, sometime around when
bob left the body
the show started deviating. It almost feels like the second season should have ended at that point, and then a new season started fresh.
