Yup can't argue with the fact that it took a GOTY on GAF as well (and twice!), but I was really disappointed by that game, a huge drop in quality in gameplay and story as well after act 2, but I do realize I'm part of a miniority when I look at the facts, the broader audience and critics actually liked that thing :/

EDIT: It shows that I still have it for pre-order on the PS4, yet I have an email saying it was cancelled :/

It happened to me a couple of days ago, actually. No idea why... I didn't get any email, but it said "Pre-order payment failed" on the PlayStation Store website, which really makes no sense since I just used the money I had on my PSN wallet. I just pre-ordered it again with the money I got from the refund and now hopefully it'll stay pre-ordered.

This game is looking like something special. Damn having final year college tests 2 days after it releases. I think my celebration will be playing this straight for a week once my tests are over.

U2 and U3 worked fine without it, disappointed :|

Only a goal of 3 treasure captures will most likely result in shorter matches. Speaking of which, I also think the TDM score limit should be 50.

I was watching the extended reveal trailer when all the action has finished and we finally see Elena. Just before that you see Nate looking at a map and he points to where the treasure is. If you look at that map you'll see more islands dotted around and I'm wondering if you can pilot you boat at this point and visit those islands.

Could someone post a pic of that map, please?

Yes.

We will
explore an archipelago with the boat before reaching the main island. You can see that in the story trailer. Moreover, this level will be completed by underwater sequences as seen here.

Maybe it's a new mutiplayer trailer? Didn't ND say they would reveal more MP stuff after PAX?

And yeah, I think the mini-map sucks... This isn't The Last of Us. I liked using sound and intuition to find enemy players in Uncharted 2 and 3. I don't wanna have to put silencers on all of my guns 'cause I like the way they sound, but at the same time I don't wanna show up on anyone's radar. =\ It would be nice if there was a free booster that made you not show up on anyone's radar, at the cost of not letting you see anyone either.

It's pretty much common knowledge around here that Neil said they don't want to give everything away like UC3 did. So no.

I'll just wait for GAF's impressions on the trailer, if people say it doesn't spoil than I'll watch.

Next 2 weeks are going to be such a pain.

BTW, just finished Firewatch, good game but a disappointing ending that left me kind of hollow, so I'm a little bummed after initially what seemed like a great experience.
Next games on the list: LiS and Until Dawn, what should I play now until U4's launch?

i hear you, but they've been rather public about not wanting to repeat that mistake with this title

i'd be pretty surprised if they show another set piece that we haven't seen yet

Have platinum on U2, finished U1 at least twice as well (no platinum though), finished U3 only once cause I couldn't bother more with it unfortunately, that's why I'm surprised I'm so hyped about U4, pre ordered it digitally as well (=no cancels or returns which means that if it's bad I'm fucked, I NEVER do such things with games, U4 is the first), after U3 I thought I'm kind of done with the series, felt tired by the formula and the story was really sub par, had 0 hype for U4 and thought I'd buy it on sale, but ND managed to shake things enough to make it fresh again and me acting like a school girl in anticipation :)

Despite showing a fair amount, we really don't know too much about the story/set-pieces. (Unless you looked at the leaked level list, which is still pretty cryptic) Feels similar too TLOU marketing in that sense.

Uncharted 3 before release, we had seen the cuise ship, the cargo plane, the burning chateau + the desert convoy/talbot chase in trailers. The only thing that was a surprise in that game was the young Nate section.

Both games are amazing, in my opinion, so you can't really go wrong with either. Though LiS is slightly longer than Until Dawn, so if you want something quick I would go with Until Dawn.

However, if you play Until Dawn, I strongly suggest waiting until nighttime and using headphones. I can't see the experience being the same if you play it during the day.

Anyway, regarding Uncharted 4, has anyone ever asked Naughty Dog if there will be single player unlockables? Like the unlockable skins from UC 2? Not sure if they were ever asked that question. Definitely hoping for it, though. And I am hoping if they do have them they actually have proper audio like the UC2 skins. That was cool.

But yeah, can't wait for this game. It's going to be great, plus the MP will be fun as well.

Talking of music, this new guy's score is something I'll still have to be sold on. Missing the flamboyant themes from previous Uncharted's so far.

Uncharted 3's music wasn't very good either, but this is just such a departure.

I could list the whole thing, but it's safe to say that Uncharted 3's score left a positive impression as far as I'm concern. The arabic tones and themes were quite refreshing.

I'll finally get around to UC2 and 3 this week from the Nathan Drake Collection (I platinumed UC1 in October then never got back to the collection since). Gonna go through them again to refresh my memory of the story before UC4 since it's been so long since I played them.

I mean, I do appreciate the nerf, but I think sidekicks were a bad idea from the start and should've been scrapped by now. I feel zero satisfaction when an AI gets a kill for me. Instead of sidekicks I wish we had gotten 6v6 matches and an improved version of the buddy system from Uncharted 3.

I'm really looking forward to this MP and had a lot of fun in the beta, I just hope they get everything right, since this should be the last Uncharted MP we get (from Naughty Dog, at least).
