Will the Vita not see the content and allow you to copy it if you wipe the main system memory with the card out and set it to whatever japanese account its all attached to?
R_thanatos, in the movie office space, when Milton stops getting paid, you're meant to sympathize with him, not the guys who "fixed the glitch".
People are being dicked over and Sony isn't your friend.

This lock makes no sense and gives the hackers reasons to make custom firmware. They really deserve what they are getting.

"Too numerous"? I just explained that the only thing you had to do was say "no" to a prompt. What are you talking about?Sony isn't my friend .. i saw this move coming from a mile away ..and i planned my next moves accordingly ..the number of thing you had to do was too numerous for it to be something sony left on purpose.
Anyone who say otherwise never tried to create/design an interface for a device.
Also when you import as much as i do , i'm prepared to pay a little more for my hobby of importing .. that's why i set my content on 2 different cards ( one by region ) .Sony wording was crystal clear

Wouldn't they want to try to sell vita firstTo sell more memory cards.

But you can still do that, even after this update. That part has not changed. What's changed is that now you need more than one memory card. Unless R_Thanatos bought two Vitas, then he isn't prepared for whatever inevitability he's talking about.Dont you have to reset your vita and all your settings to change accounts?
People were praising this thing before it came out. It was on the right path to success. And they fucked up almost every single thing about this thing. Train wreck

Sony hates your money.
but what happens now if you "Restore the PS Vita system"..? wouldn´t that leave you with a blank new PsVita..? and then you enter your japanese (or whatever) account details and insert the card,.,?
Would it not recognize your card that way..? or is there something else preventing this..?
That's not true, it was still checked. When you tried to put the memory card in a Vita assocaited with another account. As advertised all along. They simply let you have multiple accounts associated with one physical memory card. There's account info stored inside the Vita memcard. In older versions this account info wasn't really checked, so you could have used one memcard with content of various accounts. Now this account data is checked and prevents you from using one memcard on another account not matching those account info stored inside the memcard.

Why are you trying so hard to defend the Vita and discredit anyone who is unhappy about this? I use multiple accounts on my PS3 and was going to do the same with the Vita when i bought it, now i won't unless Sony backtracks.
Sony to drop out the handheld race and just sell accessories.I might be tinfoil here but i am willing to bet that Memory cards make more money for Sony then the Vita does at this point.

Yes. Lots of that going on here. Not that some if it isn't warranted but it's a litle over the top.Gemüsepizza;41487085 said:I don't like it when people make statements which they can not back up. It nowhere near as painless as the ps3 and way to similar as the psp in terms of content protection"Too numerous"? I just explained that the only thing you had to do was say "no" to a prompt. What are you talking about?

I'm not sure what would happen. I'll give it a try later.

I see that.. but if there are different accounts on the memory card, how does the PsVita system define which one to use..? the first one it finds..? the one you used when you updated to 1.80..? or how..?
Well, the Vita is a trainwreck whether you like it or not right now. That is pretty much a given at this point and a lot of people are not happy about that. And this latest deal with Memory cards is just another blow.
1. Expensive memory cardsGemüsepizza;41486903 said:Listing what "almost every single thing" is would at least be minimally constructive, but instead you are just making an exaggerated, absurd doom and gloom post. Yes, this is obviously a Vita thread.
I wonder if that'd have done any good? Maybe you could use the internet blocker hack on Content Manager to back up the other account stuff, then safely update and switch over, but maybe it won't see that stuff on the other account anyway. They seriously should've given at least a day's warning for everyone that was using their cards that way to get everything in order and prepared for the change.Honestly this thread is just another in a long line of examples.

You never owned a game boy or a ds lite? That is how handhelds are done. I don't see how people could say that the vita is the best handy they ever owned when there isn't a reason to own one.Eh... still the best handheld game system I ever owned.
Not saying Sony deserves a break for the stupidity they spew, but the Vita itself is amazing, and it does have some great games and more coming. I still believe. Mostly.
This right here boys, a feature that one could argue was used by a minority is the breaking point for this internet jockey. I'd just hang it up and throw away your vitas, games over man.
This sucks but didn't Sony say at launch it was supposed to be this way? IIRC the writing has been on the wall.
1. Expensive memory cards
2. Lack of vita games
3. Lack of ps1 games promised awhile ago
4. Shitty camera
5. No memory card when you buy it
6. This clusterfuck
I want a vita but there has been no reason to buy one yet.
any of you guys ever seen "the producers"?
Can anybody explain to me how this helps Sony?
Even if this decision is made for the benefit of rate conversion and/or IP exposure, they are seriously underestimating their customer's motives for owning a Vita in the first place. If you cut off market accessibility, people aren't just going to start buying in your forced parameter, they are going to just stop using your product.
