Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | February 2013 | The most desirable handheld in Japan

Probably I'm one of the three Vitabros in the world that bought both the March PS+ games :(

I looked at Puddle a few times but never purchased, so will be a nice small addition to the memory card. I really should start work on my backlog!

Top of the page....
Buy a Vita! If you already have one then buy PulzAR for cheap puzzle fun and also Hustle Kings for some relaxing pool/billards/snooker.

MGS HD collection for Vita then this month. Really fantastic update overall ; but now this means I can play four MGS games on my Vita that I've never experienced before, back to back. Can't wait.

Edit : Wait, MGS HD on Vita doesn't include Peace Walker right? :(

Yeah, I think I'm just gonna stop buying any Vita games that have been out for more than 3 months :p

A great surprise for anyone that doesn't already own MGSHD though. It's an absolutely fantastic freebie!

The game is in fact quite good, I enjoyed it because there's a great variety of situations and fluids to manage, many are very funny (ink on the technical drawings is amazing :D)
Have fun! :D

Anyone have any opinions on Ragnarok Odyssey? I finally picked up a Vita, and a friend is coming through this weekend to play with me. We're thinking about picking this up to sate our co-op gaming. I'm really looking forward to Soul Sacrifice, but we need something with local/online co-op to sate us.

Any other suggestions?

There's a demo you can try out...

Already got MGS and puddle demo was OK I guess.

However for anyone without MGS its a really good PS+ free be. Great for sony to add that one. I have it on cart and will keep it that way. I mean il set of the download and cancel so I still have the digital plus version available but I like that one on cart.

yup see my post a page back

Well I got Ragnarok and im glad I did. Only put an hour and a bit in so far but im really liking it.

Its basically as I thought from the demo that its a cross between God Eater and Phantasy Star Online.

The combat is closer to GE but with classes and more combos to do.

The mission structure is closer to PSO as its not all boss fights (although there are plenty of those)

No levels, again this is like GE so its all gear based. The card and armour system adds possitive and negative effects just like GE does as well.

My internets been really screwy lately (which should be getting fixed tonight) so I havn't tried the online yet. Still if you like these kinds of games I currently recommend it. I would say its really nothing like MH. If you love that then it doesnt mean you will like this. I my self dont like MH much but love PSO and GE so if you are like me then this might be your thing.

Will help keep me going till Soul Sacrifice or PSO2 if it actually comes out here (please let it come out here)

Also playing P4G still. Made Chie my GF a while back and I cant cheat on her lol. Its to harsh a thing to do.

Awesome update for us Europeans!

Oh and does anyone in the UK know how much Persona 4 Golden is at GAME instore? Got some store credit to use there.

Which I did, but a demo for a game like this hardly represents what it feels like late-game, with multiplayer, and after a dozen hours of grinding.

Sweet. I'm thinking about it, for sure. The price is high relative to other stuff, sadly, but I might just suck it up.

Really. I thought £24.99 is a great price. Its hardly £34.99 like EDF (which i still paid and dont regret lol)

It's $39.99 CAD here, which is on the higher side (highest being COD for $49.99). That said, I'm also spoiled because most of the games I've been buying right now are launch or post-launch games which are cheaper now.

MGS HD is a great addition. It's one of the Vita games I've enjoyed most, I reckon.

Personally, I'm hyped for DOA5. I've been tempted to pull the trigger on that one in anticipation of the Vita version.

Me too. Just need to find that last VitaMuffin.

the pricing is so messed up from region to region. here RO is £24.99 and CoD is £44.99 (which is insane....................and i still bought it..................yeah im a mug lol)

To be fair I just had a ton of credit from birthdays etc and the price didn't bother me.

I've been coming down off the PS4 high, I think I'm finally going to be able to enjoy my Vita again. I'm also super pumped that they're finally doing remote play right, every game will have to support it - that's how it should've been done in the first place. This will be perfect for when my wife wants to watch the TV, or when I want to sneak in gaming sessions here and there :p

I honestly can't see how remote play for all PS4 games will be bad for Vita, it can only be good IMO. It'll help get more Vitas sold and it'll help get more games to Vita users if they own a PS4. More Vitas sold means more games just for Vita too, right? :)

Yup. If it does indeed support all games (bar ps eye ones) then it will convince me to get a PS4. before hand I was not going to get a new console. I dont get much time to play games on the main TV and even when I do I strangely prefer playing on something like a Vita. I tend to have a music channel or a film running on the TV while I game.

It's not a bad thing, but I don't think many people will spend $400+ on a PS4 and $200+ for a Vita either. I can't see sales increasing by too much.

I'm not sure this is the right thread but I will ask anyways. My vita has locked up twice this week. By locked up I mean that it wouldn't come back on after I put it in sleep mode. How I fixed it was by force restarting it. First, Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening? If not what should I do if it does hapoen again?

they likely won't all at once.
It will ideally be a case of they and their friends get the PS4. One of their friends has a vita and uses remote play (and it works well hope hope) and it convinces their friends that they need that feature as well and they spend money on the vita at a later point after figuring out it has some games they want.

Urban Trial is a blast. It's insanely replayable with the way leaderboards work. I had to beat Toma on a few things before I went to sleep last night, haha.

Oh, also, if PS Blog doesn't make a post about how it's the 1 year anniversary of Vita, I will hate them.

Sure that it was not because no battery left?

Experienced the same thing twice, but it was because I played it with low battery, put it to standby and went to sleep. The next morning it just had no juice and I was wondering 5 Minutes what was wrong.

You said you restarted it so I think there was still battery left? How did you restart it? Pressing the power button for long enough?

I just realised IF (big if) ps4 costs 300 then it's only £50 more than the vita :/

I think it would be safe to assume that the Vita would get a price drop IF the PS4 sells at £300. But I highly doubt the the PS4 would be that competitively priced.
I personally think that the price of the Vita might drop temporarily around/soon after the launch of PS4 though.

my prediction is that there will be two skus one with the base PS4 that is cheaper, and one that includes a vita in the box for 100-150 more.

Heh, I was playing it until far too late last night too. Just need to 5* a few more tracks and find a few more money bags and then I'll be wanting some DLC. Sadly, I doubt there'll be any.

It is a blast. Now I'm thinking about it, I really want to go home and fire it up. Portable Trials, man.

Ooh, that could work really well.
Price it at five hundred and ninety nine US Dollars, and I'd bite!

On topic - Playing the Urban Trials Trail, and it's quite fun. It also looks really stunning. Hesitant to impulsively pull the trigger on the full game though. Anybody bored of this game as yet?

given the current state of the vita, and their seeming focus on remote play I think it only makes sense to have a sku with a vita bundled with. Worst case you could make it an amazon/online store exclusive if B&M doesn't want to stock multiple SKUs

it's sony though, so we will have to wait and see lol. Knowing them they likely make two skus, the second one having move controllers in it :p

I'm using wake-up club so I have to have it charging. Yes, I restarted by holding down the power button for long enough.

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...

Spanked almost all of your scores and times just now. Have fun! ;p

Got a few more entries for the Gravity Race last night. The new time to beat is 00'39"36!. Don't forget that you can try again if your time got beaten before. Only 4 days left!

I'd rather force my Vita up my urethra than play a JRPG.

Your loss.

Soul sacrifice looking stunning as usual. I didn't really mind the blocky ground effect that much, but improvements are always welcomed :)
