Hajime no Ippo gives me life. So good.

Ippo is the best anime of all time imo

Gate has tiddays though among other things.

Lmao my bad ya'll. I only watched a few episodes, but all I remembered was dragons, the soldier lady and girl with the scythe messing up a ton of bandits, and the them bringing refugees back to japan. Actually, the elf had a lake scene didn't she? ._.

My hero academia has some nice titties tho
You ain't lying lol, but that's generally just some of them in their suits (except for Midnight). I know there were some angles during Mt. Lady's introduction, but that's about the end of it right? Well, except for that short lil pervy dudes antics.

Gate sounds interesting. I'll check it out, thanks OP
Yeah the story and setting are really cool. Hadn't seen all of it, but I enjoyed what I watched, though, it seems I remembered incorrectly. Has quite a bit of fanservice.

down to hear more about these!

Glad you asked. Although most Gaffers will dismiss 91 days as an ordinary revenge tale, the character of Avilio (shown above on the left) is a rather complex one. Set during the great depression/prohibition-era, Avilio swore revenge upon those whom murdered his family one winter night and infiltrated the perpetrator’s mafia family, first as a moonshine bootlegger, and working his way up to be one of the caporegime's lieutenant. You will see him struggle to hide his true identity whilst finding his family's killer. You will see him caught between power struggle between two mafia familes. You will see him making great sacrifices, just to satiate his hunger for revenge. It's a rather bleak tale, but I can tell you that it ends on a positive note.

I love One Punch Man but episode 2 has that mosquito villain moaning and talking about how she wants to suck you as her nipples poke conspicuously through her suit.

Here's a great anime with no fanservice at all, except a few shots for the ladies: Sakamoto Desu ga. I've shown it to three people, two of which don't watch anime, and they all loved it. The core of the show is usually a dramatic or not-so-dramatic problem building up and up until Sakamoto finally does something silly and unexpected to resolve it that would normally look really dumb, but comes off as hilarious and cool. It's a very fun watch both for the comedy and to see the rest of the cast interact with and learn from Sakamoto, who is himself a lovable character. No need for 4 episodes to judge whether you'll like it or not--give it 10 minutes and you'll love it.

Yup, Sakamoto desu ga was a fun show. Completely out-there and ridiculous, but in a good way.

Been watching Hajime no Ippo. What "fan service" is there is limited to oggling of oblivious women, which manages to help characterize the cast as typical guys without crossing over into something eye-rolling like Brock territory, particularly since it's coupled with them being fairly open with male-based sexual humor (poor Ippo). I don't get the feeling that the women in the series are there for the audience, but that they just happen to be in and around a line of business with teenage horn dogs. It's acceptable within that context, especially since it's all a relatively minor part of what's ultimately an awesome shonen series with brutal boxing. Good shtuff. Once I finish Sword of the Stranger now, I'll probably get back into it. xD

Please do! I personally can't recommend it enough. Seriously one of my favorite IPs period. Really inspired me.

Gate is pretty fanservicey.
MHA doesn't have much fanservice true, but the plot moves at a glacial speed. This might be fine if it was a regularly running show, but it isn't. Barely anything has happened in season 2, and once it ends you'll have to wait until the next season airs so you can get another handful of episodes.

Anyway, my recommendation would be something like Cross Game.

It's amazing how interested it got me into learning more about boxing- different types of fighters, punches, tactics, and training- and how sometimes I'd be standing in the kitchen trying to mimic Ippo's straight. Step first, turn the hips, turn the shoulders, then punch! Awesome show. <3

Although I hear he and Miyata never fight again. D'8

Hard to recommend Psycho-Pass because the second season without Urobutcher at the writing helm is pure venomous poison to the brain.

What second season? There was the first season and then the movie.

Weirdo.

The thing I loved about gate was the modern military vs medieval fantasy. F16s vs dragons and mortors and machine guns vs an orc army is really cool. They also do get into the politics of such a highly advance military force showing up all o a sudden in a medieval society.

But yeah can be pretty fanservicey. Especially the thousand year old goth loli god (not joking she is that old) who gets turned on when she fights.... Yep. Still would recommend.

Tokyo Ghoul would be my recommendation. Some people don't like it but I find it be some quality misery porn.

More violence and cannibalism than you can shake a stick at but not really a lot of tiddies.

Texhnolyze (2003) is pretty damn interesting. Takes place in a creepy dystopian city where many people have received robotic implants. Tonally it is rather surreal and sometimes episodes might have very little dialog. Lots of mysteries and ambiguity and the setting is fascinating. Some scenes deal with the loss of limbs and trying to cope with suddenly being disabled. I've only seen 14 out of the 25 or so episodes but I'd recommend it as a rather mature sci-fi anime. Madhouse does the animation and I think it holds up well today.

I've seen a couple sex scenes, but I sure wouldn't classify it as "fanservice".

The anime adaptation is awful though, and S2 does its own original thing that manages to be an even bigger mess. The manga version is solid though.

Even though it got cancelled right before the good stuff I would recommend Eyeshield 21 for football anime. It gets weird about black people for a bit, but other than that it's a fun ride.

Guilty Crown.

Man, I watched that show weekly when it came out and can't remember shit. Can't even remember the character in that gif. My mind must've blanked it from my memory.

Uhh... did OP actually watch this show. Sounds exactly like what people that this thread is for would want to avoid.

I finished watching S2 of Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu in the last week which just aired last season and LOVED it, but it can be slow and is not for everybody.

Cardcaptor Sakura is all cute and innocence. Great characters and beautiful art. Fantastic music too.

Awesome. How close is it to retelling the story overall?

Want to jump on the manga on the part where it catches up to the show (when those volumes are released in english) but always wonder if its worth rereading from the start or start in the middle where the show ends and avoid a lot of story repetition.

MHA's manga is fast as hell which really makes the Anime's pacing suck even more

The manga is the original source, the anime is the adaptation. So you can just go to wherever the anime left off and start from there. But for this particular series, I'd just re-read it unless it's like super fresh in your mind I guess.

I didn't watch it all, but I totally forgot about it lol. I put a note in the OP.

No love for Ergo Proxy? I don't really remember there being any fanservice there, though I may be mistaken. It's definitely been a while since I watched that.
