Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- + Rev 2 (Complete with all DLCs)
Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition
Melty Blood
Berserk (and the rest of that nonsensical title)
NBA 2K17
Hyperdevotion Noire

I've pretty much only gotten a chance to spend time with 2K and GG Xrd. I wasn't a huge fan of -SIGN- when it came out due to lack of content, but -REVELATOR- has been exceptional. Not the best player in the world but I'm slowly gaining confidence through completing Missions and Combos in the Dojo. Not to mention the game has a full story mode animated in-engine which is really sick. Gonna watch that this week and start on the Episodes that precede it! 2K is really fun as well. I didn't play 2K16 so the reviews that suggested not much had change didn't affect me. It's actually kind of amazing. The game let's you drop in and out of your friends' personal courts so you can play with them quite seamlessly. Basically you put down a White Soapstone to get your ass dunked on by someone who has spent real world money on their Big Baller. The novelty of it is the real fun.

Haven't started the other games. My girlfriend got me Dishonored during the sale so I'm also very excited to get started on that.

Three titles for me and that will be it for the sale.

Dead Cells
Hollow Knight
Abzu

Plan to start them this weekend and next week when I am on vacation.

Played up until my ranch was taken over by Tar slimes, had no clue how to handle them. Fun relaxing game though.

It's actually incredible.

It makes you feel like you're in The Matrix but instead of Neo you are John Wick.

Being able to just stop and plan your next move means you can add as much flair to the next shot/slice/throw as you want.

Probably the biggest compliment is that we played it for about 6 hours straight and didn't feel ill.

Hollow Knight: Played an hour or so which I enjoyed and I love the art style
Pillars of Eternity: Played 5-6 hours and I love this game it really scratches that BG itch
Resident Evil VII: Have not installed yet

This is an excellent shmup with very unique mechanics. Really glad I picked it up. The aesthetics and music are great too.

I got Sexy Brutale, Watch Dogs 2, and Sairento VR. Really liking Watch Dogs 2 so far which is surprising since I hated the first one.

I may buy SuperHot VR and that Rick and Morty VR game before the sale is over.

SubNautica
The Surge
What Remains of Edith Finch

Absolutely adored Edith Finch, despite it being a bit short. SubNautica is really good, easily on par with The Long Dark for a Survival game, but with base building and nicer visuals. The Surge took a little while, but I'm really enjoying it. Very Dark Souls, without being as obtuse about the story or mechanics.

only Dead Cells so far. It was talked up as a better Rogue Legacy but I dunno if I'm super into it. Was pretty annoyed when I reached the first boss, thought I was doing very well and got randomly one shotted. Seems like an insane grind to actually get meaningful upgrades.

Divinity 2- haven't had a chance to sit down with it yet. Expecting a AA level rpg with some jank. But that's what makes me interested.

FFX HD- Haven't played this since the ps2. Nice upgrade so far and I still like the combat system. Forgot how hit and miss the english voice acting is. Particularly Yuna.

Enter the Gungeon- spent the most time on this so far. Really fun, but I wish there were more permanent upgrades, as opposed to just adding new items. But its early in my runs yet, so that may not be an issue as I continue. It just feels not quite as nice after coming from dead cells recently.

Furi- only made it to the third boss, but I'm enjoying it so far. I'm just chipping away at it as I feel like it. Really like the gameplay. Don't realm care for the story and just wish there was a bosses only mode that cuts the walking and talking.

Played 5 hours of Shantae Half-Genie Hero, I'm enjoying it even though it feels like a step down from Pirate's Curse.

I've bought Total War: Warhammer and BeamNG Drive so far.

Beam satisfies my destructive urges really well. I'm having fun smashing up cars and watching them get crushed and fall apart kinda realistically. It's pretty fun for what I paid and I'm assuming there are some fun mods but I haven't got around to trying any yet.

Total War was a recommendation from a friend. I've never been an RTS fan, but I've quite enjoyed this. I'm useless at it, but the battles look great and I'm having fun learning what the hell im supposed to be doing. Definitely worth the £15 I spent on it.

Hollow Knight - returned b\c I decided to wait on the Switch version. I could tell it will be a good game.

Dead Cells - seems cool but it had some stuttering issues. I returned it as well and will buy again once they are fixed.

Bought euro truck simulator and total war war-hammer.

Refunded both as euro truck is not my thing and haven't got time to learn a total war game.

Will try and find something else.

To all the people who bought subnautica, I would wait till the story is done and the game optimised. Great game, just need to wait a bit to get the full experience imo.

Bought Dead Cells two days ago, have played it for 5 hours so far. Excellent gameplay. Its still in early access, so I look forward to seeing the game grow.

Copped GTA5 but I wasn't really feeling it and requested a refund right away.

Thinking of maybe getting Hollow Knight and Ori instead

Concrete Jungle: A very fun puzzle game so far. Makes me wonder what else is floating out there, obscured by the negative reviews of idiots (why do people expect every game to satisfy every gaming desire?).

Pinball FX 2 VR & the season 1 pack: Wow! Didn't expect a VR version of this game that's been around so long (Xbox 360 game) to make such an impression. Blows away the feel of playing in 2D. If you have a VR headset pick it up!

Pinball FX 2 (non-VR) tables: Sadly, there's no progress being made in releasing more VR tables, but the game is still great. Picked up a bunch of tables (some I owned on X1).

Hollow Knight
: This game is super overrated. I really don't get it. It's perfectly made, but what has been made isn't interesting to me in the slightest. There's nothing this game does better than all others of its kind. Doesn't help that this is the 200th game like this I've played.

Bejeweled 2 & 3
: These games are sorta classics... The music in each game is fantastic, too.

SENRAN KAGURA ESTIVAL VERSUS: If you haven't played a lot of Dynasty Warriors clones this game is great for turning off your brain (and a lot of games I own actually require thinking). Helps if you like the anime titty, it's very sexy for softcore porn. (this game may actually serve as an aphrodisiac, it worked for us.)

Pharoh Rebirth
: Seems to be an excellent Japanese indie game. There have been a lot Metroidvanias like this, but I dig the ancient Egypt theme.

Adobe: This VR puzzler seems really solid. Puzzles definitely aren't immediately apparent. Nice cyberpunk feel.

Turok 2: I loved Turok 1 in the day, and today. But I think 99% of the appeal is nostalgic, considering I couldn't enjoy this at all. It doesn't compare favoritably to games of its era nor to games of today. If you don't have fond memories of this game definitely take the pass.

Dick Wilde: I thought something about this VR shooter must be more than the sum of its parts, but it absolutely is not. Definitely pass.

Twisted Arrow: Not only is this VR title cheap, it's a great game. The actual bow & arrow aren't implemented very well, but the gameplay is. Really fun and makes you feel like a Marvel superhero.

Final Approach: This is the crown jewel of my VR pick-ups. Great visuals, and much more compelling than the iOS alternatives. I feel like I'm playing with Micromachines, It's hard to not make mistakes as an air traffic controller.

Crazy Fishing
: This (VR) game is really rough, but it's also really good. As someone whose total fishing videogame experience consists of Bass Duel and Sega's Bass Fishing, this game fits alongside very neatly. Lots to explore, lots to catch, and the fishing pole feels great.

QuiVR: The best bow simulation videogame of all time. Low on content. (it's a VR game)

Shantae Half Genie Hero
: Another fantastic entry to the Shantae series. What I didn't expect was the quality of the music, WOW!

Elven Assassin: Another very solid bow & arrow VR game. This one has a nice balance of features at $5.

Everspace: There's still not a ton of space shooters, and this one is a roguelike. The production values blew me away. Seriously, I cannot overstate how strong the production quality is in this game. If you don't own it you probably are not prepared either.

Strikey Sisters: There aren't a ton of Arkanoid-clones. While this game suffers from the flaw of all break-outables, it's a very solid game. Will pass final judgement when I've played it coop with my S/O.

I stand by all these judgements, but I have a few more I really must add:

Streets of Rogue: Probably the most surprising pick up. It seemed like yet another game that is actually like the old game Rogue, and the theme seemed unnecessary. What I got was perhaps one of the best of its genre with a theme that works really well. The roguelike elements are implemented so, so well. Lots of emergent gameplay. It's so much fun!

To the Top: This is the most immersed I've ever been in VR. While playing this game, I completely forgot I was in a room. Instead I was actually flying / jumping around these virtual lands. I think because the game has me moving so much, and the movement works so well, it breaks me out of the typical VR feel into something beyond. Not only does it look real, it IS real.

I may buy SuperHot VR and that Rick and Morty VR game before the sale is over.

I'd definitely recommend SuperHot VR. One of the best VR titles, no doubt. Much better than the original game. Rick & Morty is small is scope and incredibly short for the price.

Just the Umihara games, but haven't tried them yet. I did like the old-old one I played on PS1 though, so it will likely all feel very nostalgic. :)

Games I've played before

Fallout 4
Fallout New Vegas
Oblivion
Morrowind
MGS Ground Zeroes

Games I had not played or finished (demo, incomplete)

Dishonored 2
Evil Within
Age of Empires 3
Alien Isolation
Alpha Protocol

Only played Fallout 4 so far since I wanted to take a mini-break from Arkane after pouring 50 hours into Prey (which was fantastic). So far I'm really enjoying the higher framerates, load times, and visuals from what I remember of the PS4 version. There's still all the game design problems, but at least the technical ones are minimized. I'm actually surprised how smoothly it's running, seems quite well optimized and I was surprised when it recommended max settings for me. What this has shown me is how well Bethesda Softwork's lineup this generation has clicked with me. Wolfenstein, DOOM, Dishonored, Prey, Fallout, Elder Scrolls.... it's all great stuff.

jon bones

hot hot hanuman-on-man action
Shadows of Mordor

screen tearing like a motherfucker, despite having v synch on

stopped playing, went back to PUBG with friends

FFVIII, IX and X/X2.

VIII is a shitty port, probably wasted my money, but at least i could mod in Rose&wine.

IX and X are good i like them, especially 9 after some modding.

Expedition Vikings has me completely hooked. So far it is a straight up Isometric Viking party based RPG with a writing and tone very similar to the Vikings TV show. I am about 6 hours in and I haven't gotten to the ship sailing part which is where I hear it really starts to shine. But so far I'm loving it just as an old school RPG with a grounded viking story.

Bought Recettear and The Witcher 3 GOTY and enjoying both immensely, even though I don't know exactly what to do in the latter.

I wish VNs were cheaper.

I bought Motorsport Manager and the GT DLC. Only played a couple races but have really enjoyed it. I was hoping PUB would go on sale but since it didn't I'll probably wait to pick that up once I've got a job.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
-So far so good. Batman combat + killing orcs has been a fun time. I'm still in the "tutorial" part of the game I think though.

Batman: Arkham Knight
-I'm probably not getting to this for a while but the price was right and I checked that it runs well on my PC so that's good.

Nex Machina
-Loving it. It's like Smash TV + Super Stardust HD.

Nex Machina Game is amazeballs!

Subnautica Totally scratches my survival and exploration itch, already put like 20+ hours into it lol

Pillars of Eternity Refunded, I couldn't make it past 30 mins, it felt too dated and slow, I might try Divinity Original Sin EE though.

I have such a hard time finding games, I either have already played them or there's just too much crap to wade through to find new stuff. I also can't stand "Roguelike" and the pixel graphics fad kills it for me too, I've lived through the NES/SNES, I want something with more effort visually for my money lol. When you see things with a nice art style it just makes pixel games seem lazy as fuck imho and I can't get into the atmosphere.

Doom: Run into a bunch of technical issues that left me with a very sour taste. I uninstalled it and will try again in a few days. I also need to come to it with another idea in mind.

Hollow Knight: Played almost an hour an a half and loving it so far.

Dishonored 2 and Sky Rogue: Will start them after I'm done with the two from above.

So far I got:

Everspace: Was a gift actually, only played 15-20 minutes, but was not really feeling the gamepad controls. Heard mouse + kb was the way to go, which seems weird for a space shooter, but whatever. Will give it another go later.

Hollow Knight: Bought due to all the hype and while it didn't impress me much in the first hour, it's slowly growing on me. Just cleared the forest like area and not really sure where to go next.

Nex Machina: It's pretty good, but at the same time kind of makes me want to play more Assault Android Cactus instead. Made it to the final boss on arcade mode and ran out of lives. That fight was all kinds of bullshit.

My favorites so far

Combines intense hacking puzzles with a well-written and interesting interactive fiction angle as you probe the files and systems of different computers. Got the expansion as well. From what I've read, it's about as long as the main game and adds a bunch of new tools and such to use, as well as some really cool missions

header.jpg

A fun traditional roguelike with interesting classes, satisfying tactical combat, a sense of humor, and a pretty nice looking tileset

header.jpg

This was surprising. I was expecting this too be pretty unplayable. But not only does it control relatively well, the atmosphere and gameplay is still quite solid
