What is the most important Rock album of the last decade?

Haven't seen it mentioned yet,
but TVotR's Dear Science is an absolute classic.

Similarly, Yeasayers All Hour Cymbals should be mentioned. Both albums represent the late aughties Brooklyn Wave.
 
My first thought was Animal Collective and Neon Indian, but I don't know if these are considered rock but it's hard to classify.

I would say no.

I feel like the topic was more straight forward in terms of the rock definition. Throwing chill wave or even electronic music, even if it has some guitars thrown in, makes things murky.
 
The more I think on it the more it has to be Bowie's "Blackstar".

An album about death/dying/mortality, written by a man who knew he was dying, and within the album itself a reflection on his cause of death.

All done by a guy most well known for dressing like a human acid trip and putting out the most eclectic catalogue in rock history.
