Hearthstone is simple? yeah, whatever you say....
Pokemon Trading Card Game 2
so good and you can play as a chick
Baten Kaitos
It's so sad that this series is so under-appreciated.
It's a pretty cool RPG, I just don't think it's a very good card game.
But the horrible voice acting kinda killed it for me.
My man!
This.
Metal Gear Acid 2.
Culdcept Saga on the 360 for me.
Yep, and I wait for it's return with longing in my heart, hoping its ship didn't sink.
edit:
i beat the ds one, learning what symbols meant what ability as i played. I have considered buying a JP 3ds.
I always turn off voice-acting in games, so I didn't care about that.
While I do prefer the standard system of a typical turn-based JRPG, the card system in Baten Kaitos was pretty interesting - collecting, mixing a deck that led to a bunch of combos and higher damage, etc.
I actually liked the card aspect more in EWatLO better than in Origins
The game is apparently not balanced allowing you to win in one turnI've never gotten much into video card games. What's a good, readily available starting point?
I've also heard bad things about SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS, although I've wanted to try it. What's bad about it in particular?
Culdcept or Phantom Dust
FFVIII
Easily Baten Kaitos Origins (how can this be the first mention?)
It was amazing. I wish they would make a new YGH game similar to Forbidden Memories and Duelist of Roses. I don't understand the rules of the new YGH games :|
One of my favorites is the mini-game that was included with Xenosaga.
Yu-Gi-Oh: Duelists of the Roses for the PS2.
Has yet to be surpassed in my book. Part of the reason I loved it is that the game was basically cheating you at the later battles and against certain people and part of the thrill I had was overcoming those brutal odds and still winning. I DO NOT CARE YUGI DID A HEART OF THE CARDS PULL 4 TIMES IN A ROW I AM GOING TO WIN THIS MATCH!
I loved both of these so much. I still have my disks.
I don't know how to play those Tag Force games. They seem to be fun, but they are so confusing for newcomers. The PlayStation/PS2 titles were easy to understand.Meh, my favorite cards in absolute(in Tag Force 3) are the cloudians(but i like others too)
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Cloudian
This one for example is 5 level water - fairy(so it can be easily evoked and there are many water and fairy cards that can help it), can't be destroyed in battle and can easily and fast gain very high attack points since each fog counter(that can easily become many fast!) grants it 500 additional attack points.
Hearthstone is the only game in this genre that's done it for me - i love it.
That Pokemon card game on Gameboy was great. Still one of my favorites, although I haven't played that many card games.I used to play the Pokemon card game on Gameboy when I was young. Probably still one of my all-time favorite card game to date.
Digimon World: Digital Card Battle on PSX is also great. I hope there's a sequel for this one.
