No I am pretty sure it was confirmed to have local multiplayer in the past (like Pikmin 2). I definitely remember a thread about it at least where people were complaining that it was local instead of online.

Ehh.. Well the PR kits from last September explicitly stated that The game will support one player only.
I'd love to be wrong though.

Remember the eternal rule of Nintendo Direct - The earlier it is announced, the better the reveals. In contrast, when one is announced a matter of hours before it happens - we don't get shit.

Seriously, expect a firm date on Lego City Stories. MAYBE Pikmin 3.
