Iwata said that he is aware of some unannounced third-party games that are planned to be revealed at Nintendo's September conference. I hope their from the likes of Capcom and other Japanese third-parties.
Where is this from?

I did, I read of fools talking of video coms in a negative light for no real reason, seemed odd, hey ho.
Why would they create an article "designed to downplay and discourage enthusiasm for the console" when a new console cycle would mean a surge in enthusiasm for gamers across the board?
Rösti;41585945 said:If we are talking about utilizing compute shaders on Direct3D 10 compliant hardware (which the Wii U GPU has been described as now and then), it's really nothing interesting in my opinion. The differences between compute shader use between D3D 10 and D3D 11 are quite magnificent, especially considering atomic instructions are available to D3D 11, as well as some other interesting features. That's shader model 5.0 though, and I haven't seen anything written about Wii U's compatibility with that, only 4.0.
I hope it's not just Angry Birds or something like that
Looks like we can expect a good 15mins of NintendolandHehe, I hope not.
I was looking back at the Wii's September 2006 conference and it took place in New York as well. Here's a look back at the presentation and announcements.

I don't think there is any anti-Nintendo conspiracy, but I think you would have to be pretty ignorant to think that generally the big videogame enthusiast websites and magazines are not particularly big Nintendo fans and that filters into their coverage.
So Nintendo are the biggect gaming co. in the world because no gamers like them?
Curious.. where do you live...? It's extremely pervasive technology now.I have yet to see a tablet in real life.
Hey guys, call me crazy but I have this weird idea that Sony and Microsoft might think the same way when they introduce their new machines. Come on Pachter. Every company wants to sell its products and wants to convince the masses that they know what consumers want."Nintendo just thinks they understand everybody better, thinks they understand the consumers better than everybody else,"

But... Skype is on a lot of phones and tablets. i already have two devices I can use for that. It's a neat add-on but it's not exactly a selling point.
Iwata said either in some post-E3 interview or in the investor thing from June that further support would be announced later in the year.
.
Is this a proper story printed in the magazine or a user blog
"Their strategy is 'We got lucky with the Wii, so if we just try something different, we'll get lucky again. In their vocabulary, the word 'lucky' doesn't exist-substitute 'brilliant.' Unfortunately I don't think it looks brilliant. Nintendo just thinks they understand everybody better, thinks they understand the consumers better than everybody else and they're going to keep doing it till somebody decides to make a change at the top." - Michael Pachter

That was in the magazine. And I don't think he edited that much out, if anything. It was a pretty terribly written article. Is this a proper story printed in the magazine or a user blog? Honestly, this reads like someone's blog who writers about games for fun and clearly knew they didn't like Nintendo or Wii U before writing that.
It's pretty off-putting to think that if you have a job in the gaming press, you take that job seriously and take pride in what you writer and care about well-researched opinion pieces or collecting facts or not trying to subversively influence the reader's opinion (see: overemphasis of the GamePad screen's "SD"-ness ; generally dismissive, arrogant tone).
Excuse the whining and ranting but this really sickens me. Why do this? Why write a story like this? Of course everything is not awesome and if something sucks or doesn't do what it's supposed to you tell it like it is but these kinds of articles are just unacceptable. I would not let that be published. Not because I'm a fanboy but because that's just a horrible article.
This is the kind of thing you write and present arguments that fall both on the negative and positive side, impressions and opinions from different people who know what they're talking about and then you close it off with your personal take on the situation.
I have not read the whole thing, I'm basing all this on the choice quotes provided by Agent Unknown but from that it reads like the writer had a clear agenda or felt it necessary to "inform" readers that nearly everything the Wii U does, it does badly. That's how it comes across to me.
The actual magazine. Not a blog. Sad, isn't it?

Is that bit online? Or could you maybe scan it? I'd love to read the whole thing so as not to rant about something without having read everything in context.
I'll repeat it for second time ^_^Did I miss something? I know Pachter never was a big Nintendo supporter but goddamn, he sounds bitter as hell. Did Reggie flip him the bird or something?
You can read the digital magazine online (don't know where) or on ipad for free, I don't know if that article is in there thoughIs that bit online? Or could you maybe scan it? I'd love to read the whole thing so as not to rant about something without having read everything in context.
Man, I had an international EGM subscription (yay for extra expensive subs ...) for a year. I actually really liked the magazine back then (Q3 2010-Q3 2011). ...
I highly doubt this is Nintendo's line of thinking. Guess Nintendo should follow Pachter's example and just follow the crowd and never innovate or offer new ideas because the people don't want them.
So Nintendo are the biggect gaming co. in the world because no gamers like them?
Writers and editors are people too and as such they can be biased. That's pretty much it. Considering that most videogame journalists are likely the kind of guys that see themselves as "hardcore" it's not surprising Nintendo gets very bad coverage. Doesn't mean it's a conspiracy.I agree with you on the article being written by someone with a bone to pick, but what would any publication have to benefit from "cheerleading Sony and MS" and shitting on Nintendo? I don't get it.
Why would they create an article "designed to downplay and discourage enthusiasm for the console" when a new console cycle would mean a surge in enthusiasm for gamers across the board?
Luck is involved in everything, you can't discard risk taking coupled with good business decisions just because they had a measure of good luck. That's what Pachter did.RE: Pachter on Nintendo being lucky with the Wii. He may have worded it abrasively, but he's not entirely incorrect.
Part of the Wii's success can probably be attributed to serendipitous good fortune. I really don't think Nintendo expected it to be as successful as it was (at least earlier in the gen), nor do I think they'll be able to emulate that success easily.
don't ask for scans.
Someone mentioned a Criterion person having Wii U on their LinkedIn profile a little while back I think.Have there been any rumors about Most Wanted on the Wii U? I know that Criterion started hiring people for new platforms around a year ago. Some speculated that it was about the Vita, but they eventually put up another job opening and specifically mentioned the Vita. Black Ops 2 is basically a lock for the system at this point and MW was the only other multiplatform game that I was hoping to see announced at E3.
Well they got DS games to use the analog stick on the 3DS so there's a little hope there.I don't think so. Wii didn't have the feature of playing Gamecube games with Pro Controller or Wiimote, so I don't think that Wii games will be compatible with WiiU Gamepad, you will still need the necessary controllers.
It would be nice if the ProController could be emulated using the Wii U Gamepad.
So, let's just wait for more information about that.
Is it actually going to be safe to put the Wii U down vertically?

I WANT THAT BADASS CHARGING STATION.
Well they got DS games to use the analog stick on the 3DS so there's a little hope there.
See that pic of the unit with the wood finish? I can't see any visible vents on the that side of the console unlike we have seen on the demo units!?!
That wheel pad needs a table mount to be useful.
...and analog triggers.

Oh shit, you're right.
This thing is going to choke the Wii U.

This thing is going to choke the Wii U.
dammit, shot down my dreams of buying it.
So unless they changed where the vents are on the new model, this charge station is actually going to be harmful to the Wii U.
Good freaking job.
I can't find the article (or even the magazine for that matter) anywhere. You can read the digital magazine online (don't know where) or on ipad for free, I don't know if that article is in there though
