I think it might be the depth of field effect blurring out the textures as you move away from the camera. There have been some questions raised about the AF performance in Xbox 360 games though; I don't know if this is just 1st gen dev issues or a problem with Xenos itself.
Thats quite an aggressive DoF they've got going on there.

There's definitely something not being accounted for considering the hardware. It should be a simple on or off feature AFAIK. Are there any 360 games noticably employing anything beyond AF x2 yet? Even the touched up press images Ive seen dont have it. I know some people dont mind/notice the lack of filtering but my inner graphic whore would take aniso over AA any day, especially at this resolution.
