$80 fucking CAD.
Fuck that.
I am almost certain they will.
As any experienced player knows, 75% is basically 100% - guaranteed hit.

I don't think they will, it'll do more harm than good, late ports rarely do well on consoles.
This type of game never had an audience on consoles, the first game undersold, sure, but it got good reception critically, was on PSN+, they needed to use that one to cultivate an audience, and then grow it with the sequel, but they took the easy, safe route of just releasing it on PC, because of that they've burned whatever audience they had on consoles, chucking console players a bone a few years later will mean it'd not sell again, and back up the "doesn't sell well on consoles" narrative the first game had.
i don't think it is a huge loss, its a PC game first and foremost, it is disappointing that 2K weren't in it for the long haul, as its a game series that deserves a massive audience.
That's smartly reworded Anchorman joke. Xcomized,too.10/10
Any word on technical performance?

Lookling forward to 00.01 on Friday, will be there missing 80% shots until i fall asleep.
*cough* Civ: Beyond Earth says hi.
I was originally worried about the soundtrack. But, it seems to be pretty great!
Firaxis has to be the most consistently good PC developer out there. The only iffy game they put recently was Sid Meyers starships, and that was a mobile game.
RPS talked a bit about how the plot is actually very good. I'm curious about that, since the villains and their motivations are exactly the same as they are on EU.
I mean, they still want to genetic engineer some godlike psionic race for whatever reason, right?
I wonder if we will get more background about the aliens themselves.

Nah, Paradox has them beat. Civ: Beyond Earth is/was pretty terrible and Civ V only got truly great after Brave New World.
Firaxis is a solid no. 2 tho
Oh shit, he just squad wiped because he couldn't leave a panicked Doorn behind. Or squad captured anyway.
He criticizes the game for the things that fans enjoy about it (unpredictability of success, scarce resources, perma-death, constant tension leading even to exhaustion). It's not hard for those same fans to discount his opinion if you read the entire review.I hate when people take one line out of a review, devoid of context, and then spend ages complaining about the review and saying it's terrible. That EGM review is perfectly fine, and the line about probability is obviously not saying "How can i possible miss a 95% shot".

I think most casual players don't do enough to mitigate their risks in these games. Yes, there can be snowballing, cascading failures that lead to squad wipes, but it tends to be because you didn't sufficiently account for what would happen if (when) you missed that easy shot. Always have a backup plan. Have a grenade throw in your back pocket. Know where they can move to and shoot from on their turn. Consider what your options are if everything goes wrong, because sometimes it will.

It's such a tough skill to learn, tho. I mean, sometimes you just gotta risk it so whatever, but yeah, most of the times, on EU at least, you could have a backup plan or something like that. But it is a skill that takes not only time to learn, but also require a mindset that is not completely obvious when you are dealing with %s all the time that is to make your own luck.
XCOM looks like a game of luck; until you drill into your head that is not; then it is like you are playing another game altogether.
I'd like to play XCOM 2, but if you're right, I probably never will.
The scores are amazing. Pre-ordered this last month. Wish it was friday already.
lol. Damn at the opening line of the gametrailer review. Something like "one mission on XCOM 2 have more emotion than most games on their entirety".
And I thought I was being hyperbolic on my hype.
I wouldn't be too pessimistic about a console release. If it does well on PC, chances are pretty good it'll get ported to everything eventually, just like the last XCOM.
There might've been budget constraints that made them bet everything on PC as a start.
Jake Solomon said:XCOM 2 will offer other improvements as well, including physics-based rendering, more visually impressive destruction, and procedurally-generated maps. "To do that, we had to use all of our studio expertise... and our expertise here is PC," Solomon said. "That's our home, and that's where we're really comfortable."
The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 should have the power to run the game, but developing for multiple platforms simultaneously just isn't something Firaxis can do. And even if it did come to those platforms, it would almost certainly be without support for mods, one of the games biggest selling points. "We're certainly not opposed to [a console release]," Solomon said, "but I can assure [you] that's something we're not even discussing yet."
