1) Someone says something objectifying about women who are abused by an industry
2) I call them out on it
3) People trivialize the abuse women get in the industry.
4) I call them out on it

Why don't people just say, "hey yeah, women are treated like shit and it's a pretty horrible thing" instead of going "LOL WHITE KNIGHT LOL OLO"?

People not knowing the name of pornstars is hardly them trivializing the experiences of the women. The fact is, most porn is watched on streaming websites with no names of the people in the video - hell, a lot of it is anonymous and thus intentionally without name, ie amateur porn.

Besides this, knowing the names of people who do things just isn't that common. Shit, most of my friends wouldn't be able to tell you the name of their favorite director.
