One of the best reviewers on youtube imo, great honest reviews and also does other series such as interviews and "walking the walk" where he discusses in depth the tech behind a game which I greatly enjoy.

Larry Bundy Jr
https://www.youtube.com/user/LarryBundyJr

He does great videos about classic gaming stories and some obscure things you might not have never known,

Worth a Buy:

Another good reviewer that does good in depth reviews for games.

The 8-bit guy:

Not a straight up "gaming" channel moreso a tech channel, he does a lot of videos on computers/old games and the hardware and technology behind them.

Hmm...

I guess I'll toss a nod out for one of GAF's Most Brawler'ing-est Sons---Tetsuo!

Generally a question of when, rather than if, he digs in deep on any number of brawlers, or the new-to-me term of Character Action Games, and all sorts of other stuff that often falls through those action-laden cracks due to either region woes or just seldom attention paid.

He's been at this on YT and a bit on Twitch just the same for a long, long time now...may well have been one of the very first channels I stumbled on back in the days when SDA lurked in the shadows and Superplays were (still) more of a thing as TAS pieces only started to come together.

And also my own Twitch channel due to my employer made me close my old channel down because they don't understand the new media such as youtube and twitch and this channel is me trying to make a big success of it to spite them. Who said teachers can't have fun My Twitch Channel

ChocoTaco on Twitch. He's currently playing a lot of PUBG (and is really good at it), is really chill, and clearly articulates his thought process while playing.

Unlike many people here, I don't feel comfortable saying that channels fortunate enough to already have hundreds of thousands of followers deserve to have more people paying attention to them, even if I myself very much enjoy their content. So here's a couple of smaller channels that quickly come to mind. Not gonna bother with channels that cover/arrange/remix game music, because that list would never end.

RWhiteGoose (currently 11k YouTube subs, almost 24k Twitch followers)
Most of his content is about the N64 game, GoldenEye, and he himself speedruns the game. However, the reason I'm recommending him is not so much because of his runs, but rather because of his series called SpeedLore. It's a series about the history of GoldenEye speedrunning, and although I don't even really like GoldenEye, I find these types of videos really interesting.

KingK (27k YouTube subs)
Does video game critique that is usually very insightful and well presented. I do believe that he does play through the games using a walkthrough in order to 100% them for his Retrospective series, though. I'm not saying that that's not a valid approach, but it's not how most people are experiencing these games, so I feel that you have to keep that in the back of your mind while watching the videos and take some of the things he says with a hint of salt.

Deceased Crab. One of the longest running LP channels, he used to be a lot more popular in the early days with La Mulana complete playthroughs. He's kid friendly (no over the top language or games), always super enthusiastic, and has some great catch phrases.

I've only seen her video essays, so help me if she's a milkshake duck, but Alicia Goranson definitely needs more love for the amount of work she puts into her video essays. Maybe I'm just a SEGA fanboy, but I'm fascinated with Saturn-era stuff since my dad wanted to stick w/ the Genesis for life, or at least until his co-workers sold him on the idea of Halo. It's neat to see someone look in-depth at Burning Rangers, as well; I was obsessed with Sonic Team as a kid & I never knew they wanted to... not be the Sonic team.

I have many others, but Mega64, Continue?, Retsupurae, Kim Justice, Ahoy, & Super Bunnyhop have all been covered. That doesn't change the fact that each of them should be the faces of video game channels on YouTube instead of the junk that's drawing in more viewers. I'm still delving through Goranson's stuff, but I'm digging her, & all 7 listed above produce professional-tier stuff.

I fell off of Vinesauce & The Kilian Experience, but I saw those here, too. They're not that bad, so I'd also recommend them. But I'm 100% certain that everyone I listed in the middle paragraph here deserves your love (99% on Alicia; I'm still cautious after recommending Cool Games Inc. to, like, 10 friends literally the day before Nick Robinson's history of sexual harassment/attempted rape became public knowledge).

EDIT: We also didn't mention Jim Sterling because we're already very thankful for him, right? I think he's popular enough to not require a mention here, but he's also one of my favorites on YouTube.

and uh... if you're interested

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_r8gFeezEBZVnazvbv75pQ

I've been producing videos now for a few months. I cover games old and new that do something in particular that makes them worth examination, as some initial impressions of newer games and more conventional reviews. I put a lot of care into graphics, audio and presentation - and have been working on improving my delivery and the content of the videos.

My latest video on DOOM (2016) went up yesterday night, and I've recently done a deep dive on what Banjo-Kazooie and Super Mario 64 so well regarded and what developers can learn from them, as well as a re-evaluation and celebration video of Nuts and Bolts.

Hopefully there's something you can appreciate that I've done. Otherwise, feel free to tell me off for self-promotion!

Nice long form video format... just found that Crash vid and quite enjoyed it: articulate, informative, and with a cool polish. ^^' Hope you can keep this up alongside a fresh output, this can definitely be a jewel over time!

Easy Allies deservers all the love they can get. Love and respect!

Judging by the frequency of their fans promoting them, i think they get enough love already.

Dont get me wrong, i like eza. But we could be talking about world hunger and somebody will find a reason to promote them.

Yeah, I mean they are getting $41k a month on Patreon. I think they are getting plenty of love and attention.

Really understated sense of humor. He's really thorough in the games he plays. Has a fantastic playthrough of Deadly Premonition where he shows all the sidequests and all that. My favorite series he's made is one where he created a wrestler named Bully Demise in an MDickie wrestling game on the Ouya, and then he ended up taking that character through a bunch of other MDickie games, and then made a custom story in one of the WWE games featuring that character and a bunch of other custom characters from various other games he's played through, and then ending with him playing an entire Bully Demise ren'py fan game that's ridiculously well-made.

Some games he's played through:

D4
Realms of the Haunting
Enemy Zero
999
VLR
Shenmue
Mode
Killer7
RE7
Illbleed
Siren
Nightcry

Also has a series where he plays through random XBLIG horror games.

My only issue with his videos is that some of them are just ripped directly from this weekly stream he does that has audience participation where they vote for choices and stuff. The chat can be a bit annoying. Although I think he's taken a break from those streams.

I really dislike Easy Allies but they seem universally praised here.

Game Sack, My Life in Gaming, Classic Game Room are my favorites.

MetalJesusRocks is my guilty pleasure.

BeatEmUps and RGT85 are ok but hit or miss.

Pat and Ian's CUPodcast videos can be tolerable if the subject matter is good.

8bitguy isnt really pure gaming but I love his content. Same with Ben Heck.

LGR is criminally overlooked but his content focuses more around retro PC.

Video Games Awesome (farfromsubtle on YT).. watched them for years now and they are the opposite of what i hate about most YT personalities.
There are a lot of fanmade highlight compilations of their best moments on youtube. Highly recommend watching them.

I use to adore them (Turboed twice) and followed them from day one of AVG days. Now Fraser is just so angry and ungrateful while all they do is play Overwatch. The refuse to update on what’s happening with their AVG patreon as well which makes it all look shady.
Ben leaving caused him to go down this path I feel as he has no one to challenge him.

Shout out to Mega64. It’s a crime that they don’t have more subscribers after being around since pre-YouTube.

Sega Lord X - if you like the Saturn at all he's basically covering every game on the console. Almost.

Lots of other Sega related videos obviously, presentation isn't amazing but his style is good nonetheless https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQecstB435fDyNx3X-Mu_Vg
I'll give him a watch, I'm a huge Saturn fan.

They're not overlooked or anything but Roosterteeth
The recent Playpals series of Human Fall Flat videos straight up made me buy the game.

Radicalsoda has a lot of fun videos, specially based in low budget jokes and how is confused as a girl in the video screen titles, so, he decided to draw him as a girl in the latest ones.

also, lots of sonic videos.

I've followed SlasheJPC on GAF with his Youtube content for a while now. He has been doing this for over 10 years it seems and has tons of great gaming content ranging from live action to various well produced videos. He recently re-branded himself "This Just-in Gaming", has been pumping out lots more content, and just even did up a Patreon which I plan on supporting him. I don't see him posted about much on GAF but he seems like a really good guy with a passion for this stuff.

Some of his better videos both old and new that I've enjoyed:

Red Dead Redemption Restrospect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rx6MX8u5s1U&t=9s

The Evil Within Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aep_zXgrpKo&t=513s

Sweet Home NES Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKYlpQNvsLk&t=1s

Dragon's Crwon Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pixsg4bMees

Alan Wake Fan Film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPuWeC-Fr6U&t=417s

Saw The Videogame Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jB1uA8rgQ28

Too much Fallout 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPU_leKbfUA

Resident Evil 5 Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-989jES4vI

Does anyone else on GAF follow him and enjoy his work? Really worth checking out imo.

Someone else likes MDickie games? Thats insane. I adore those titles lol

Clemps
-He is just awesome and quirky.

SuperBunnyHop
-His in depth analysis of video games and the video game industry are great. Plus buy George Socks!

SuperBestFriendsPlay aka. The Sw1tcher on youtube
-My favorite let's players and my favorite podcast to listen to. Maybe because I am Canadian and have a bit a bias, but I really love these guys.

Summoning Salt
-If you like speedruns and seeing the history of some of the more prolific speed running games this is the channel for you.

Noah Caldwell-Gervais
-His retrospectives as it were are among the best I have seen and he goes really in depth into gameplay, graphics, story and themes of the games he looks at.

No love for Oxhorn?

If no one posted him I need more youtubers who give deep dives to story based/open world games. Dude does full on story plays of the Fallout series that makes me feel ashamed for skipping over computer terminals and logs when playing.

Big fan of Gaming Mike. Does streams of NMS, Elder Scrolls, Conan etc. I find his style half late night radio talkshow host, and half diazepam for the mind. Very good stuff.
