It probably depends on how involved the mangaka wants to be with the anime adaptation.
Some work closely, some don't bother and let the studios do want they want.
I imagine most of the time since it is already a boon to even get an anime adaptation (regardless of how bad it is), most mangaka wouldn't be all negative about it.

Sometime the author contribute. I remember an article about Hiromu Arakawa asking studio Bones to make FMA anime (not the brotherhood one) to be different from the manga.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever heard of one publicly denouncing an adaptation. In private though I could see a few of them wringing their hands.

Granted I'm only a few chapters in, but I'm really enjoying it. Love Yuuko, she's awesome. When I finish it I'll watch the anime... providing it has a happy ending, or as happy as possible I guess. I'm bad with tragic stuff.
I mean, there's actual history to follow.

The writer seemed excitedly nervous to have five pages in opening colour, though I guess its because endou-kun and a few more are her hit series for that publisher. Curious where this one will go with this clockwork story and its clock obsessed lead and his gradnfather. I wonder if its some supernatural elements with the clock. Oh well looking forward to it.

The dude's hangin about like a musty old fart and every page with him is a step back for the series. It's time to say to hell with history (once again) or whatever and finish him off for good.

The shorts at the end of the volume with various fun with writing on each others shirts was hilarious. Kuramochi teasing Eijun was funny, especially the wrestling and then the actual shirt and pudding. He and Eijun provide great comedy whenever things get too serious, can always count on one or the other.

It is pretty uncomfortable reading. I do wonder how it will end to. I think it could end great, or at least it could have a 'nice' ending, if given enough time and a writer whose not determine to mine more and more awfulness.
You've either read it already or you've read one of the authors other works. Have you read Sisterism?
