what I mean is that he is going to trick the Stalker with a fake bad dish and have some quick reverse dish ready to go

Seeing as the Stalker may go first with his dish review

Eh, I think stalker will still have a great dish (oxtail with smoked bacon? Lord have mercy), it's just that soma is throwing a swerve that he didn't tell anyone exactly because he knows that stalker is being a stalker.

Cop girl will make it out alive again? How is this happening again?

Prison School 133

Who's that VA who's really famous and keeps rolling his R's? I hope he'll be the Chairman's VA. Fits him so well.

Hello GAF,

Anyone here reading Wagatsuma-san wa Ore no Yome? It has the potential, too bad it got axed. And now, I'm out of ongoing manga to read besides Mix.

Any recommended romance or romance comedy manga with at least 50 chapters completed/ongoing to read? I'd like to read Fuuka, but knowing it's Seo Kouji sensei's work, it's still gonna be a long road ahead. Preferring seinen more than shounen. I hope it's not too much to ask.

Welcome. I already like your username. I'll try to name the authors ( and their works ).

Kubo Mitsurou ( Moteki, Again !! )

Kaoru Mori ( Emma, Otoyomegatari )

Taku Kitazaki ( Kono S wo Mi yo, Sakuranbo Syndrome, Nijidama )

Kira Takashi ( Sekitou Elegy, Kecchin )

Naoki Yamamoto ( Arigatou, Dance till Tomorrow )

Motoi Yoshida ( Natsu no Zenjitsu, Koi Kaze )

The Genshiken author did Yonensei which is a pretty light hearted short story of a university couple who has already been together for some time. There are also some mangaka that deals with uncertainty and drama rather heavy-handedly but I'm not sure if you want those.

Living Game is pretty good.

My man.

More people here need to read Mix

Soma 86

Souma is the man. I cant stop laughing at the stalker guy. Hes such a creepo lol. Cant wait to see the taste test.

This series needs more Erina. Like a lot more Erina.

Sounds like a massively asshole-ish thing to do, even by Souma's standards.

I can see it happening, but that's only if Stalker goes second. The whole idea behind a trick like this is for the winner to go first, let the other person go second and see the revolting reaction from the judge as the winner goes "just as planned."

If I saw enough people reading it everyday/week I'd probably join in based on curiosity anyway.

So I guess I'll join.

MangaGAF SUZUKA (by MangaGAF Hero Seo Kouji) READALONG EXTRAVAGANZA!

$_35.JPG

We all read Suzuka together (amount of chapters per week TBD. Is 5 too little? 10 too many?).

Anyone who quits will have to use a KNIM avatar for an amount of days equal to the remaining chapters.

For example: There are 167 chapters of Suzuka. If someone reads 67 chapters and then quits, they would have to use a KNIM avatar for 100 days.

THIS STACKS ON TOP OF YOUR NISEKOI PUNISHMENT.

Can also choose to start it as soon as they quit or once the full hate read is finished so we turn the thread into KNIM GAF

of course inspired by the glorious HxH betting pool.

Any takers?

JOKES ON YOU I ALREADY READ IT

I think Seo gets a little too much credit even as a troll or someone who orchestrated a train-wreck. His 'incident' looks mellow compared to those who tried their hardest in humanizing the circumstances. I don't know, I just don't feel anything besides wanting to finish what I had started.

There are more interesting and dramatic train-wrecks, if that's your thing.

Any examples? I might be interested to find out more about them.

I dunno if Aki Sora counts. When I reached chapter 6, I also wanted to force-quit reading it.

There's no winning in reading Seo Kouji's works. Only rage and shame await.

Finished the whole of Kimi Iru no Machi. Read Fuuka for around 7 chapters, haven't continue since.

Maybe I should pick it back up one of these days..

Let me know if you can get past Boys on the Run, H-works by Seme Danjou, Oyasumi Punpun, Yonensei then Gonensei ( absolute reboot of the characters ) .

Also looking for some good romance manga to lean on... I've been looking to add more reading stuff in the veins of :

- Soredemo Sekai
- Akagami ga Shirayukihime
- Method to Make Gentle World
- Otoyomegatari
- Horimiya
- Saiunkoku Monogatari
- Tasogare Otome x Amnesia
- Ai-Ren
- Molester Man
- 1/11 (not romance-specifically, but the feels and atmosphere is... so, so, so, good.)

It's hard to put a description to it, but I would say a less frustrating romance story that relies just as much on the atmosphere of the storytelling/character development, more so than the actual turn of events/drama revolving the story/relationships.

Eidt : Btw, just to add, when I say less frustrating, doesn't mean I expect it to be drama-free or rival-free. Just can't stand it when characters have not an ounce of trust, or act ridiculously irrationally to forward the plot/drama that makes you scream "this problem wouldn't exist if you both actually talked it out!". Or even the lame, occasionally used shoujo subplot of kuso-jijis trying to wreck someone else's romance because mah reasons!

Aki Sora is terrible. Sora is a terrible excuse of a human being, and Aki gets no depth to her character except the last two chapters or so, and the ending was blergh.

Frankly, it's not even worth being considered a train-wreck, it's just straight-up boring porn.

Uwakoi ( same author/artist ) is a better example, imo, and even then, I straight up couldn't give a rat's ass about the impending trainwreck that's so forced down the throat. Urgh.

Too bad I've already finished reading the manga :p

Even if it wasn't a normal one, I liked the ending.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari ch5-8

Just build a paradise with all the other half-humans and that blacksmith and let the rest of the world burn.

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
Fuuka a manga by MangaGAF Hero Seo Kouji

Fuuka is still best girl since Tama continues to be annoying as fuck. But I tend to doubt she's going to tell Tama off for stealing her man, and rather, she's going to tell her that she's distracting the band or some shit.

Shokugeki no Soma

I was more hoping he'd just make something that's too difficult to clone.

That's weird because you'd expect Mimasaka to know if something is too hard for him to make. At the very least he's probably doing a couple test dishes too.

I rather like the idea that Soma practiced a lot but didn't settle on a final dish, and is doing that on the fly

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Shokugeki no Soma

Japan doesn't use Mesquite? Oh man they are missing out.
Fuck... now I want to gorge myself with steak.

Added Molester Man and 1/11 into my list of comparative works too. 1/11 isn't romance ( episodic drama about characters ), but it's so, so, so good. The atmosphere and storytelling sucks you in.

Uwagaki!

I've read a chapter, and didn't feel the hook at that time. Will go it another round.

Maybe Molester Man and Fujiyama-san wa Shishunki? That's all I can think of for now.

Read Molester Man already. (so good). Will look into Fujiyama-san.

How about Prunus Girl?

Hmm... I've read Prunus Girl, but I don't know if I would categorise it as something in that veins. It's very light-hearted and straight-forward, but it was too light-hearted for me that it felt too much of a comedy and it was hard to really get into the atmosphere of the relationship.

I guess the way to put it is that Prunus Girl didn't move me.

Oh, the thing is Fujiyama-san wa Shishunki doesn't have any drama at all either and is a relaxing slice of life romance.

Maybe read Koe no Katachi instead.

Relaxing is perfectly fine, the main selling point to me is the atmosphere. ( super subjective, I know)

Koe no Katachi, huh? Heard a lot of great things about it, am actually holding it off because I've also heard it's gut-wrenching.
