nvm, found thread. Awesome that this is getting a PC release.
From the looks of it, it is. Even a 8800GT can get over 60FPS, the console version can only wish.Zyzyxxz said:wtf I was just as surprised.
I'll give it a look and hope that it runs better than the console versions.
And as along as the developers of future games dont fuck it up and require a 4GHz QuadLabombadog said:From the looks of it, it is. Even a 8800GT can get over 60FPS, the console version can only wish.

Also, if I oc my 400W PSU will maybe not cut it... and I'm short on money to replace mobo n PSU -.-
edit: and no, I will listen to no reason to spend more money. The games I want run fine, Starcraft 2 will also and in 18 months it will be a completely new PC anyway. But thanks for the thought

I cant tell. Download the demo. Its a fast download now that the hype is gone.SapientWolf said:Does FEAR 2 still not give a damn about what kind of CPU is in your machine? The original FEAR might have been the most GPU limited game ever made.
Is there any way you OC that PC?SapientWolf said:I tried the Last Remnant bench for funsies.

And no, vsync wasn't on. It peaked at about 75fps. So yeah, CPU limited. Severely so. Which is strange for a UE3.0 game and even stranger for a canned demo.
Install FRAPS. It has an option to allows it to record framerates during a period of time i believe.tahrikmili said:How do you guys benchmark DOW2?

Capped at 60fps for some reason.
Lol, I was just dealing with this freaking problem today. I had to run the game, alt+tab out of it, go to Nvidia control panel, identify the .exe set the options to "override" and pray that it works. Now that I look at it, apparently this allowed me to change the already existent WAR profile (the game I was having problems with. The Nvidia control panel is a piece of shit.Mohonky said:I don't trust that CoH: OF test. Something about OF that runs like a dog. My system runs everything maxxed at 1680x1050 really well, but OF runs like an absolute dog and struggles to get past 20fps despite the performance test suggesting I should run it at high.
In other news, a mate of mine pointed out I should goto my nVidia Control Panel and set the .exe of a game with the option to set Multi-Display / mixed-GPU Acceleration to Single Display Performance Mode. I noticed it gave me a fairly significant bump in performance in games like Crysis and Dawn of War II Beta.
Problem is, nVidia Control Panel won't save the setting, and everytime I restart or open the panel it reverts back to it's default settings. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them but it didn't fix it, it keeps reverting. Any solutions?
Do you have SLI or something? What is this fix? I doubt that disabling one of my cards (The 295 is 2 cards slapped together) will give me better results.Mohonky said:Did you end up finding a fix for the control panel? It's really giving me the shits atm. Dawn of War 2 is still running well (which is my main use for it right now) but seeing as I know changing this has nicreased performance in Crysis and in Dawn of War 2 I want to make sure it's running single display for all the games I run.

Ohh. Well, that does make sense, but I can't do it. I run many programs that I like to have visible at all times in my second monitor. All the benchmarks I have posted are with those programs running on my second display. I gues I could get 2-3fps more in some games if I turned my 2nd display off and closed all my background programs.Mohonky said:You're only disabling multiple displays, not cards. I only have 1 8800GT.
Sweet! Thanks.VictimOfGrief said:Just an FYI to OP, added to my main PC Gaming 2009 thread.
Vsync is on. You may have to disable it in the CCC as well as the game. I suggest using ati tray tools instead of CCC.Chairhome said:Just upgraded to a 4870 from an 8600, so I figured I'd run some benches. Question: I was running DMC4 Benchmark and I can't seem to get past 60 FPS, which I was almost certain I would be able to. DX10 version. I have the Frame limit set on variable, is there any reason that 60 FPS is max? Do I need to configure something else in CCC?
