Thanks for all the info. Mainly just waiting for some more title fight info. Hopefully a release date, or atleast a trailer or an official anouncment from Sony. Btw, can you confirm that the game will come out this year?

Paul Gale January 2, 2012 at 5:22 pm
It will come out this year should there be no complications…"

So yeah possible release this year...and more shenanigans on his website about characters...

Here's a suggestion or concern, change the damn title of the game!!

edit: Wow, I had no idea, but Paul Gale actually replied to my original complaint about the title earlier in the the thread:

Do you want to sell 2 hundred million copies?

Change the name to Playstation Battle Opera.
CHANGE THE NAME TO PLAYSTATION BATTLE OPERA!!

(all credit goes to SSJ1Goku)

I'm sorry but Title fight is just. Awful. Lame duck of a name.

PlayStation Title Fight. We'll see what happens in the end.

At least he's listening :)

How reliable is this site? I remember they had a bunch of Wii-U crap last year.

I wonder how many other games Sony have in the works, they seem to have tons of studios and deals in place with very few games actually announced.

They likely have oodles of games for Vita, and PS3 that we don't know about. Things like Until Dawn were teased years ago and are still MIA, but in development.

Such is the business.

I can't tell you how many supposedly amazing first party Sony titles friends have told me about only to have them disappear into the ether and never see the light of day.

I'm sure lots of interesting stuff gets canned with all major publishers, but Sony's deals are only increasing, but their announcements are almost nothing. When is GoW4 going to be announced? What's RADs next game? Is Armature's game this year?

If a PS4 is even close, they need to empty the barrel of PS3 content soonish, there's no sign of that happening.

I have a feeling Ratchet in this is either going to be really really broken or really really shitty.

Wonder how good cole would work out as well.

I'm starting to think that this blog is actually viral from Sony, a kind of Smash Bros Dojo. Either way, keep it coming.

I'd think so too, but previous posts - like "Now this is a Zelda tattoo!" - just don't add up.

Looks to me like they are investing so that all of their platforms don't die. The last time I counted, they had this going on from 2nd party/3rd party that they are publishing:

Sanzaru Games - Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Eat Sleep Play - Twisted Metal
ThatGameCompany - Journey (PSN)
Giant Sparrow - The Unfinished Swan (PSN)
Developer TBA - Until Dawn (unannounced)
Ready At Dawn - Unannounced Title
Quantic Dream - Two unannounced Titles
Tarsier Studios - Exclusive 1st party agreement. Currently working on LittleBigPlanet Vita and other projects
Novarama Studios - Exclusive 1st party agreement. Reality Fighters and other titles.
Minority - Papo and Yo (PSN)
Armature Studios - Unannounced Project
Superbot Entertainment - PlayStation Title Fight (unannounced)
Double Eleven - LittleBigPlanet Vita
Lightbox Interactive - Starhawk
The Workshop - Sorcery
Nihilistic - Resistance: Burning Skies
Q Games - PixelJunk 4 A.M, other Pixeljunk titles
Idol Minds - Ruin
Fun Bits - Escape Plan
Mass Media Inc - Jak & Daxter HD Collection
HouseMarque - SuperStardust Delta
HoneySlug - Frobisher Says
Queasy Games - Sound Shapes

These are the 1st party IP's being worked on by 1st party studios:

Studio Cambridge - Killzone Vita
Naughty Dog - The Last of Us
SCEJ Studio Japan - Gravity Daze/Rush
Team ICO - The Last Guardian
San Diego Studios - MLB: The Show, Modnation Racers: Road Trip
Zipper Interactive - Unit 13
Studio Liverpool - WipEout 2098
Evolution Studios - MotorStorm R.C

Then we have to consider their 1st party teams with unannounced projects:

Guerilla Games Team 1
Guerilla Games Team 2
Naughty Dog (Uncharted Team)
Polyphony Digital
Evolution Studios (Main team)
Media Molecule
Santa Monica (GOW Team)
Zipper Interactive (PS3 team)
Sucker Punch Productions
Studio London
BigBig Studios

Those cover PS3, Vita and PSN.

I do wonder why Sony haven't shut him up yet if this is a legitimate leak.

It might not be legitimate. The Lair rumor certainly makes me question it. Games like this are supposed to bring back fond memories. Why would anyone want to remember Lair? I'd think that Sony would be at the top of the list of those that wouldn't want to remember it.

Its only a stage and they might have had a good idea for it. That said, I'm puzzled too because I can think of a bucket load of stages I'd prefer over Lair. The platformers alone have some brilliant possibilities.

Who are they and what is it rumored they working on? Haven't heard of a sony deal with them.

From what I gather they are made up of a load (a load) of old Retro Studios employees. LinkedIn profiles from employees have suggested that they are working on a PSN and Vita game. Judging by the same profile, those two PlayStation games are the only games in development at the moment.

That's just another reason that Lair makes no sense. You'd have to be scraping the bottom of the barrel for Lair to make sense. There are so many other options from Sony games. The only recognizable location from Lair is that bridge. If they want a bridge then just use one of the bridges from an original GT course (like High Speed Ring). Not only does it look pretty but a lot more people would actually recognize where it's from.

Man, I'd love to hear from these Retro employees. Last generation, they were among the most technically accomplished studios around. I can't imagine many of them were happy about Wii's technical specs.

Yeah, they've had it rough really. At first EA were going to have them as like a dream design team who'd spec out games and manage their development while other studios built them, and nothing came of that. Then they were working on something for Capcom which got canned.

So much talent at that studio, can't wait to see what they're up to.

As for the list you posted, it's pretty big, I'm surprised they don't have more games officially announced though.

Looks to me like they are getting the 2nd parties to fill their 2012 line up, with GOW4/TLOU being the marquee games. I suspect we'll see a shit load of what the other teams are doing whenever Sony announce the PS4. One of Guerilla's games is definitely a PS3 title. The UK studios will likely be knee deep in PS4 titles as Evolution Studios are the 3D Tech specialists and Studio Cambridge house the EU Technology team.

They had initially targeted PS3/360/PC development under their agreement with EA, but that fell apart. Potentially working with Sony on a potential cross PSN-Vita project might be what the doctor ordered to get their stuff in gear.

I really hope Evolution is working on WaterStorm for PS4 launch. What better way to show off a new system's power than water physics?

The music is enough reason to put a Lair stage.
Was a shitty game, but the OST of that game was just amazing.

Why not?

It's just a stage and I'm sure Sony doesn't want to have multiple stages from the same series.

I take it that the game is coming out not too long from now:

IntelliHeath

As in "Heathcliff"
CES 2012 or e3 2012

I can see that happens, and I am psyched about the game if it's true. Yeah, I am still concerned that it could be just a joke.

Because it's Lair. The game didn't sell well and you really don't see anyone bringing up fond memories of it. It would be like MS making a game like this and including a stage from Azurik.

Or Nintendo including the Donkey Kong rap in Super Smash Bros...oh wait.

I never played DK64 because it required the expansion pack, and back then N64 games were too expensive for my parents to willingly buy, so I got most of my N64 games used.
