In terms of promotional activity Ubisoft’s ‘Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012’ for Kinect has been out since week 45, 2011 but debuts in the Top 40 this week, in at No12 (+173%). Nintendo’s ‘Wii Fit Plus’ did exactly the same last week by re-entering at No27 after an 11 week absence from the Top 40 – now climbing a further 7 places to No20 ( -19%).

Well, at least third-parties are now happy with Nintendo home consoles, they can dominate just as much as the first-party line-up once did. But you really needed a crap market to have those three taking a sunbath on top.

BF3 has stolen quite a bit of marketshare from MW3. It looks like CoD sales were flat at launch to the hardcore day one buyers, and the more casual legs have been weaker thanks to BF competition. Round of applause to EA, I didn't think they could do it.

Problem is now they have nothing to go against COD in 2012 and keep the momentum going.

For COD I think they need to overhaul the graphics engine and go to 30 FPS on the single player. It was hard to justify when it was crushing everything else, but now that it's showed a little weakness it's time.

I think a major expansion to BF3 will be planned at the very least for 2012, along with MOH2, which probably won't be much bigger than the last.

UKIE says it is preparing to offer a ranking of Xbox Live and PlayStation Network games in the UK once its PC download data is finally made public in the coming weeks.

In fact, chairman Andy Payne says an XBLA and PSN chart will be easier to pull together than the complicated PC one.

“We’re in conversations about XBLA and PSN,” he told MCV. “Because they are very important as well. “You could argue that we should have started with that. And I wouldn’t disagree. At the time, people were touchy about data. But attitudes have changed amongst content owners and platform holders.”

MS and Sony already give out XBLA and PSN charts, so all I expect is the same but specifically covering just the UK market, maybe covering the same timeframe as chart-track. I doubt they'll supply numbers so combined retail/digital or All Formats digital charts are probably still some way off.

Doesn't seem to be "bombing", but more of the "expanded audiences" grabbing other games in more quantities.
The game's at around 3 million worldwide (NPD + France + Media-Create alone is 2 million; add the rest of Europe, Australia, Latin America, etc.). Should end with around 4 million which is on par with "the second console Zelda" and even with the last handheld release (Spirit Tracks).

Granted, the expectations of some was that "OMG 90 million Wiis"; but by those expectations then the Zelda DS games also bombed to a 100+ million userbase. Not even 3D Mario sold as great as 2D Mario on Wii; though some still say that Galaxy 2 bombed..just because it sold less than the first one.

It also outsold Halo, Gears 3 and many other games that month. Yet, individually only the 360 version charted once (from what I remember). So if the 3 versions together did like 60k, and Zelda, Gears, Halo did like 50k; of course it will appear higher in the combined charts. Highest selling single platform game is a year old PC title, god bless you Germany.

So if Skyward Sword did 350k+ between France and Germany, it's probably not doing too poorly in Europe.
And Monster Hunter Tri sold 100k+ as well, which seems great.

MH Tri sold 100k+ in Germany, in 2011? That's pretty good.

360 have much bigger market base than PS3 in UK, I think it should be double by now.
Also Forza 4 have couple weeks advance than UC3.

To me, I think both are too low. Again there is no numbers, so pointless to judge fully.
