So.. hand up who ordered the Titanfall Xbox One package?

I preordered a Microsoft Xbox One Entertainment System with Titanfall and I am loving it! I have been reading news and I really like the direction that Microsoft is going! The innovative Kinect, the Halo TV show--the perfect thing for me and the bros to kickback and enjoy a game of the football on TV! Just set the BroApp to tell my wife to fuck off and we get to chill the whole afternoon, just me and the guys! Best of all, the Xbox One controls the TV! How cool is that? In my 30 years of gaming, I have never seen such a feature! To Microsoft, I just have to extend my thanks and say: "You're the man now, dog!"

Hahahaha ah man this was amazing

So in two pages of replies, we have:

One firm order (OP)
One tentative
One hilarious:

Looks like a winner bundle!

I am interested in how well the bundle does though. Retailers have already been offering a select free game or $50 gift cards, and titanfall is a game people would have already bought a Xbox one for.

It'll only get worse when you're married if you give in now ;0)

Well, she got me a PS3 for xmas after I traded mine in towards a PS4, and, she plays some games, like Mass Effect, TLOU, and, Bioshock.

Her reasoning was a little more sound. She just said "what else is on XB1 that you want to play?" And I just kinda quietly said "uh...Forza, Dead Rising...umm."

Then she said "well, it's your money" which, of course, it totally isn't. I took that as a "don't get it, dummy."

My hand is literally hovering over the "pre-order" button.

Fable Legends, Quantum Break, Project Spark, Dead Rising 3, D4, and even Ryse are all tempting me. But I think I'll wait until E3 or when theres a concrete release schedule for those games.

Also OT, but anyone here using the mobile app on iOS and experiencing Gaf ads prompting the iOS App Store to automatically open up?

Spend money on what you want and like before you're married. You're going to wish you had not only catered to the women in your life by then, lol. I buy what I want even now that I am married. Early in our marriage that wasn't so..I didn't make nearly as much money, but now I make sure she is happy and gets things...and then I go all out.

If the girl loves/cares about you (and you're not spending yourself into a hole..which would be dumb)...then she might roll her eyes, or think it's unnecessary...but she'll be over it the next day.

Now if she's paying for everything and you're sitting at home on your tail all day....disregard the above advice and get a job you slacker....LOL :p

Edit** If there are kids (I have two)..make them a priority first too...then go all out again.

Fair enough, was just curious. Like I say, I wasn't trying to argue with anyone. I just don't think it's fair to say MS has all the exclusives as that is blatantly not true. Both systems have an equal share atm. Glad I have both.

I know that you aren't arguing. I don't own either Xbox One/PS4 to me they don't have the built in value for me to drop the £399.99/£349.99 on either device.

I was a 360 only owner last gen but having paid £429 for the PS4/Camera/Killzone/ExtraController bundle I wasn't prepared to pay the exact same price for an Xbox One when the PS4 bundle was better value.

So I was waiting for a price drop anyway but I still think it's overpriced at £399. £30 just isn't enough, the £369 price from Gamestop is better but I don't like the fact that it's a digital code and not an actual copy of the game. If they bundled in an extra new Titanfall controller I might have seen the value but to me it's still overpriced for what it is owning a PS4 and only needing an Xbox for exclusives this gen.

I would have jumped in at £350 but now I'll be waiting for £300 which I think it'll hit before Quantum Break comes out so I can wait. I also don't really have the room till I'm done with the 360 and can make space and as we're a week or two away from South Park I can't move it quite yet; if only it was backwards compatible...

Honestly, I'm waiting for games that I'm interested in playing to actually be released. Smash Bros. and Mario Kart are two games that could potentially press me to buy a Wii U. Halo, Gears, and Titanfall are a few games that might cause me to purchase an Xbox One. Someone needs to work on a different kind of game for Kinect. A kinect sports clone isn't going to wow anyone. And trying to make a first person shooter with kinect is never going to work. I can see more success by doing something like the curse of monkey island or something like Myst from a first person view, or perhaps an RTS with online matches.

Why is everyone calling this a price drop?

The price is still $499 last I checked. lol

in the US, it's only a price drop in that an xbone and titanfall costs 60 dollars less than it would have a week ago

UK has the bundle and a cheaper price than a week ago however, making it an actual price drop

I feel your pain man. I've been married for almost 12 years now. I'm good with money (no debt, etc.), but I am definitely the spender of the two of us. My wife was brought up in a very "frugal" home, hence she is very frugal.

I'm definitely one for spur of the moment purchases (e.g., not even remotely thinking about purchasing an Xbox One. See new Xbox One TitanFall bundle, there goes $500), so that has definitely created a lot of "friction" over the years.

All that said, I think our Ying and Yang positions on money is good for both of us. I make her spend money on things she wouldn't otherwise due to her frugal nature, and she keeps me in check from making as many stupid purchases as I might otherwise make on my own.

My advice is to pick your battles wisely. When there is something you really want, take it from me, be open and upfront about it, telling her what you are going to do and why. The key here isn't to ask for permission, but simply a proactive statement of what you are going to do before you do it and why.

My wife still doesn't like what I spend money on all the time, but taking the time to explain things to her in advance goes a long way. My younger self endured many arguments and fights explaining $500-$1,000 gadget purchases after they were already made.

I don't see why anyone would. If you bought a PC in the last 3 years it should run and you can plug and play a 360 pad.

I placed a preorder yesterday but I'm still on the fence. What is still disappointing for me is resolution issues but I enjoy the gameplay of TF. I have a gaming PC but with 2 little ones I need something in the living room to get game time in. :)

So, this is a thread about who ordered a XB1 Titanfall edition. It is not a thread in which anyone cares if you own a PC. It is not a thread in which we need to see Sony list wars.

This is friendly advice.

Nope, I bought my Xbox One two Saturdays ago at Target and got the $50 gift card which I then used to pre-order Titanfall. So in a way I lost $10 but I also got to enjoy the Xbox for three or four extra weeks. I think it was a fair trade. If this had the Titanfall controller then I would probably regret my decision.

I want to, if it means I can get the game despite not really being a fan. I'm hoping GameStop gets it so I can drop the rest I owe on it. I'm down. I like the Kinect so it doesn't bother me.

I wish I could but I just don't have the dough at the moment. Titanfall, Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, Peggle 2, PvZ Garden Warfare...this is a very nice line-up a few months in. I got fuck all on PS4 till Infamous. And if that sucks (doubt it will but ya never know) then I'll have nothing till like the Summer? Not sure

Congratulations on your purchase, I'm sure you'll enjoy your brand new Xbox One all-in-one entertainment system and your time with the revolutionary game from the makers of Call of Duty, Titanfall!

But seriously, early adopters have a right to feel slighted all things considered. It's always a risk buying new electronics at launch but this is a devastatingly quick price-drop and there is no word in sight for keeping their ultra-loyal fan base sweet.

If early adopters feel slighted right now, I imagine the people buying the Titanfall bundle will only feel slighted again with the inevitable price cut in Summer or so. I'll just keep waiting it out till it's cheaper than PS4. As for Titanfall, I'll buy it when it hits $20 on PC.

Nope, still got my pc that will run the game better anyways.

Also not buying another console that I will have to pay online for to even play this game at all. To play Titanfall I'm forced to keep a Live subscription.... fuck that.

Killer Instinct is "free", right? At least the one character and ability to play him online. So with $499 you get Titanfall + KI basic. Then the $60 you saved from Titanfall could be used to get Peggle 2 and Garden Warfare. Dammit I hate being broke

Nope. I played the beta of the game and I grew tired of it after a couple of matches. Not worth a $600 investment with tax and xbox live. Realize if you buy one that a price drop to $399 will probably happen within a few months.

So you're raising your hand to say your hand is down?

I think the bundle will be a nice boost. Sorta thinking about it, but I'll most likely grab on PC. If only that sakaguchi rpg rumor was true

Serious question here.

I keep seeing people say Xbox One has the games, but apart from Titanfall, what else exactly does XB1 have over PS4?

Just off the top of my head and I'm sure there are more to be revealed at E3 and the like but...

XB1 confirmed for this year so far (exclusive)

Titanfall
Sunset Overdrive
Quantum Break
Project Spark

Sony (confirmed for this year so far (exclusive)

inFamous Second Son
DriveClub
The Order 1886
MLB The Show
Shadow of the Beast
Rime

I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything, I'm just curious about this statement of Xbox One having the exclusives. (do you mean the exclusives for you?)

You can bet both have a lot more to show.
This list is way off on both sides. If you plan on making lists make sure you actually know what's releasing.

If it had that design that MS leaker had, I would've been on it like white on rice.

But alas...it didn't.

So...fuck it.

360 version

I wonder why didn't package a special X1. Maybe they're just repacking X1's in a new Box, since they probably have so many piled up by now.

Mind correcting it? And I agree, if Titanfall is on there, PC/PS4 games should be there too.

I did, but then I cancelled it this morning.

£399 is still too much for a console that will play second fiddle to my PS4.

That's the problem, I can't justify buying an Xbox One for so few titles when the majority of my gaming will be on PS4. Plus fuck paying for both XBLG and PS+.

If it was a first party game being given away in a bundle for free, I wouldn't see it as a price drop. But the most anticipated moneyhatted third party game so far this generation being thrown in the box for free due to sluggish console sales sounds like a price drop to me.

I do I'm working right now and can't bother checking to make sure I know all if them. Someone on a computer with time should make the list of confirmed. Its missing the biggest announced exclusive of year for MS at a quick glance and there are a shit ton of games announced for PS4 that aren't on Xbox mainly Indies right now.

I'm extremely tempted. Especially with the GameStop selling it for £370. I'm still planning on waiting it out to see if the game has a smooth launch and see how the Xbone version runs.

If the bundle sells out by then, oh well. PC version it is.

I think his point is: 'can I get the console for less than before?'. The answer to that, is no.

Your point: 'the price is still $499... but you'll now get Titanfall with it, so you basically save yourself $60'.

Obviously, anyone who was going to get an Xbox One for Titanfall will profit: they will save $60. But for a lot of people who were thinking "$499 is too much"... well, $499 is still too much for them - even with Titanfall included.

If MS is already giving out a free AAA game for free after 2 months imagine the deals this fall or next year

And a $100 drop is obviously on it's way

I though SO and QB (though that seems more 2015), along with probably a Halo and another Forza were MS big exclusives this year.

This is probably one of the most logical statements I've heard in a while. You're a good man.

Well no. PS4 had more higher rated games than the Xbox 1. There's also more games to chose from period. I don't feel like posting Metacritic lists again, but the info is there with a simple platform search.
